So dumb. A loon demands an apology from Limbaugh. Is this really news? This exact thing happens every single day!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I’m kinda surprised that he decided to keep mocking sounds for over 30 seconds. You’d think he’d get tired of it. Sounds like Jerry Lewis and he hasn’t done anything for like that for many decades. Tastes change, what was considered irreverent in the past decades is considered tasteless now. Putting fake Chinese buck teeth on someone, having them squint and wear glasses and speak in a chung king voice might have worked for Jerry Lewis in the 60’s, now it wouldn’t be tolerated.

Limbaugh does this stuff to tweak the media and they fall for it every time. Leland Yee is a typical California politician dirt bag. He should demand apologies from comedians, tv show writers, and movies as well. That death threat is suspect as well. These lefties are frothing at the mouth looking for violence on the right.

San Francisco is a good place, but sadly enough way too many pot heads etc..and if SF finally gets an Chinese American mayor, good! Too many wops with the Italian mafia taking too much of the proverbial pie there for way too long, Rush, fat ass Limbaugh is just out there too make scandals, scandals make $$$ etc...the death threats against Mr.Yee could be very real, I mean not just some idiot racist venting out their anger, but some fool who is trying to prevent the first YELLOW MAN from being the mayor of San Francisco, and if you know anything about the Bay Area, full of Asians, not just us Latinos now quite a few white folk here and there then you got Oakland trying to be the little bit of the East Coast, Harlem etc..out in the Wild, wild West Coast of the USA, with a African American population, so you got a very multicultural mix in the great San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland metropolitan area.

elbudamexicano: Limbaugh is just out there too make scandals, scandals make $$$

Spot-on...

'The comments that he made—the mimicking of the Chinese language—harkens back to when I was a little boy growing up in San Francisco and those were hard days, rather insensitive days,” Yee said in an interview Thursday. “You think you’ve arrived and all of a sudden get shot back to the reality that you’re a second-class citizen.”'

Yee (born 1948) seems more like the kind of prog Democrat who misses those days. He never really stuck out in SF in the 50s and 60s and these days he definitely no longer sticks out in a West Coast city. Hard ? Insensitive? His parents had it that way, definitely his grandparents.

Just another crybaby Dem trading on race and identity politics.

Funny to see this, because of the supposed hate speech angle, can be a bigger story than the Chinese pianist Lang Lang performance of an openly anti-American song (to the delight of millions of jingoistic Chinese online, tipped off ahead ) at the same WH dinner Biff Limbaugh was commenting on. The whole Team Obama promise of "smart diplomacy! not like the Cowboy's" again blown apart.

But if its Limbaugh or Palin it gets the outrage I guess...

How come it was OK for Richard Pryor to imitate a Chinese waiter, but it's not OK for Rush Limbaugh to imitate a Chinese communist?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Richard Pryor was a comedian, Limbaugh is a political commentator, there are vast differences in what they are allowed to say.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sarge: "How come it was OK for Richard Pryor to imitate a Chinese waiter, but it's not OK for Rush Limbaugh to imitate a Chinese communist?"

And when was it that Pryor did this? the 1980's?

Only a moron like Limbaugh would pat himself on the back and claim he did a remarkable job. The guy's a racist and a bigot besides. People who like him are equally as dubious.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

aaahhhh, you gotta love political correctness...

Limbaugh not a moron, he's intellectually challenged, right?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Is Rush's "ching chong, ching chong cha" a direct quote or a paraphrase?

Does it mean anything besides "I have sh!t for brains"? Is it a type of weight loss tea that Rush's doctor gives him to wash down the pills?

SolidariTea, so Lang Lang selected a controversial film score song? He should have only played the Rodgers and Hammerstein songbook? You're getting worked up over instrumental piano music? Does it have a lot of bombastic discordant phrases that offended you?

If he incited the crowd by dancing on the keys like Jerry Lee Lewis, then maybe you'd have a point. Maybe the pianist Lang Lang is the nearest equivalent to punk rock in China, where even rock dinosaurs such as the Rolling Stones are considered too edgy to give concerts.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Also I doubt that Richard Pryor imitated a known person(more likely a stereo-type) and even less likely to use a named foreign leader of an important business partner.

Looks like Rush went way overboard here.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Q: "How come it was OK for Richard Pryor to imitate a Chinese waiter, but it's not OK for Rush Limbaugh to imitate a Chinese communist?"

A: Pryor's a comedian. Limbaugh's just laughable.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Or maybe that was Bob Dylan whose shows were canceled last year. Keep the modifier "rock dinosaurs" though.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'm not Asian by birth but my children are and I speak both Japanese and Chinese (putonghua). Limbaugh's comments were offensive and infantile. His fans are likewise. They sit and complain about the state of the nation while Asian Americans on average perform far better academically than other ethnic groups in America. If they would try studying a bit, they might find Chinese language and people less intimidating and more interesting.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Considering Limbaugh is deaf and relies on cochlear implants to "hear" he couldn't learn to mimic correct mandarin pronunciation even if he wanted to. Fall back to the "Ching-chong" stuff.

The real problem here is that Americans are too thin skinned. Sure, when he was a kid, this sort of stuff might have been hurtful, but now this lawmaker is a man. He should start acting like one and buck up.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Move along people - this is a sideshow. Americans should be more worried about the fact that China owns them.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

And just how much did Rush make from that 30 seconds? We'll fall for it again

0 ( +0 / -0 )

KingSaint:

" Richard Pryor was a comedian, Limbaugh is a political commentator, there are vast differences in what they are allowed to say. "

And gives them the designation what they are and permission what they are allowed to say? You??

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Limbaugh is a political commentator, there are vast differences in what they are allowed to say."

Rosie ODonnell was a political commentator (or what passes for one, if you are into progressive politics).

Rosie ODonnell did an insulting performance of what she thought was Chinese a few years ago and she did it for cheap laughs.I don't recall any prominent Asian-American politicians demanding an apology or calling for her to be removed from the show The View. But then she is a guilty white lib, a homosexualist (a "plus size" one at that). calling her on her racist mimicry of how she thingks Chinese speak would mean having to address her obsessive George Bush hatred so that was all quietly passed over.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Anyone who mimics and insults Jews or Blacks would have been raked over the coals and fired. Asians who demand apologies are castigated as humorless crybabies.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Anyone who mimics and insults Jews or Blacks would have been raked over the coals and fired."

Limbaugh has far too big an audience to get fired but he was basically raked over the golas - - he was barred from buying an NFL footbal team when team owners were cowed by race hustlers like Al Sharpton and the MSM. Supposedly Limbaugh had proven he was "racist" by criticizing Donovan McNabb, at the time one of the most prominent black QBs in the NFL.

But Yee does, like most of the progressive movement in the US today, come across as a humorless crybaby.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

RL is an idiot!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

People need to understand that Rush Limbaugh is only there to make money (#1) = he will say anything to make more $$$. --> This includes upsetting people. It seems that some people still do not understand that and are willing to support him in a -/+ way. Like any good parent you should never encourage negative behavior (or the private banking cartel --> which Limbaugh supports)

Limbaugh is a Lib(antagonizer)/Globalists. Part of right/left.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Badsey is making more sense to me everyday! Better go out and buy my own tin hat soon. No need for "conspiracy theories" though when everything is being done so blatantly and out in the open. Just call it the conspiracy.

Limbaugh is paid by his employers to get people arguing about the trivial issues that his bosses don't care about, and to send them off on the old wild goose-chases so they don't notice the other stuff going on. In magic, this is called misdirection, and Limbaugh has been doing it a long time and is very, very good at it. Leland Lee either does not understand any of that or is pretending not to. Means he is either a fool or a teammate.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Anyone who mimics and insults Jews or Blacks would have been raked over the coals and fired. Asians who demand apologies are castigated as humorless crybabies.

Its Rush. Half of what he is saying you can't take seriously. The other half, you really should.

Limbaugh is paid by his employers to get people arguing about the trivial issues that his bosses don't care about, and to send them off on the old wild goose-chases so they don't notice the other stuff going on.

Actually not true. And the whole controversy thing, only after a buck is overblown too. Obviously like the rest of us, Rush is doing his thing to make money. However thats not his only consideration. He's long since made more money then he will ever need. And he doesn't have employers. He is his own employer with his own business. The EIB label is what sells advertisers, who pay him huge amounts of money to advertise their product on his show. And with his consistently, and extremely high volume of listeners, and devoted ditto heads, those advertisers pay a premium to reach them.

The man talks primarily politics, but what keeps people listening, is his philosophy of making things entertaining. That doesn't mean insulting people. He's not a shock jock like Badsey seems to be implying. He is however an entertainer. If a very influential one you can't dismiss. If you've ever listened to his show, you realize, that agree with him or not, he's fun to listen to.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Typical. Just a hot-air windbag who gets most of his support from the backward people who are afraid of the inevitable changes which will take place in the U.S. in the coming decades. I figured the resident racists would come out defending him but some are still missing. They may have not read the story yet.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What has Rush really accomplished in 20yrs+ of radio popularity? -He has gotten rich while the American populace has gotten poorer. --> Maybe Rush is not the solution, but part of the cancerous system.

Watch the news on Egypt: Note how the Al Jazeera media is quite different than the American media in content and slant.

If you are a slave and never leave your country you may not notice the media and indoctrination message difference. For others that travel a lot people can see the difference.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SolidariTea: "Rosie ODonnell did an insulting performance of what she thought was Chinese a few years ago and she did it for cheap laughs."

Was she making fun of the Chinese president, who had just visited the US? Sorry, but the moron rush was not only insulting Chinese in general through what he did, but he was DIRECTLY attacking the Chinese president -- a very real person with a lot of power.

Yee, who is leading the call for a public apology, has now received death threats (the last threats he received being when he demanded some palin records be made public). Yep, fine lot of people those fans of ultra-right bigots and racists.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SolidariTea,

This being Japan Today, I knew someone would come along and nominate a best "homosexualist." I'll put in my vote for Tanoshingo. He was just on a cooking show a few minutes ago here in Japan. Drooling over a pasta and cream sauce hotdish. What day is it in your Japan?

First Lang Lang, then Rosie, then NFL--you're all over the map. Donovan McNabb is still a prominent quarterback, and he's still black. He started for the Redskins all season, didn't he? OK, you're the NFL expert, are you picking Green Bay or Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl? I say A-Rod and the Pack all the way!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

OK, I'll admit when I'm wrong. Donovan McNabb was benched for Rex Grossman in the 8th week and ended the season as the third string quarterback despite getting a $78 million contract extension.

Now that I've cleared that up, Go Packers!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Who blocked Limbaugh from buying an NFL team? The NFL did. The vast majority of owners are Republicans/conservatives but I think they knew the problems his owning a team would have created. It wasn't just his criticism of McNabb, it was his stating that the NFL wants badly for a black QB to succeed. Guess he'd never heard of Hall-of-Famer Warren Moon, Super Bowl XXII MVP Doug Williams who outdueled the fabled John Elway, Steve McNair, Michael Vick, Randall Cunningham, etc. They aren't all 'great' but they are/were successful. He talked about McNabb but didn't say anything about all the bottom-feeder retread coaches and backup QBs (mainly white), that are always being hired/retained instead of trying to find new blood. The guy is just a windbag who spurts a lot of nonsense but gets massive airplay because his followers are unable to think for themselves. With a majority of the players on most teams being black, him being the owner could have created tension the NFL would like to do without. He can write checks with his pen but one day, his pompousness may (would) have led him to say something insulting. As the saying goes, "don't write a check with your mouth your behind can't cash." Owner or not, guaranteed he would have gotten a knuckle sandwich if he had stepped out of line.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Typical. Just a hot-air windbag who gets most of his support from the backward people who are afraid of the inevitable changes which will take place in the U.S. in the coming decades.

No offense, I sorta fail to understand the concept of backward people in your post. It seems to me those backward people were the ones that set stage and did the hardwork to establish the ground to accept the inevitable changes that you speak of.

I think I owe a debt those backward people, after all they are the ones who go to work everyday to put bread on the table to support their families, and sometimes they are so good at it that they can also produce enlightened children who can call them backward for doing it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

There is racist ultra-right wingers in america just like in Japan and some people defend a racist remark. Why I am not surprised at all?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sailwind: "No offense, I sorta fail to understand the concept of backward people in your post. It seems to me those backward people were the ones that set stage and did the hardwork to establish the ground to accept the inevitable changes that you speak of."

This reminds me of the people paranoid about 'change' and of other cultures and talk about them 'stealing jobs' and claiming it's 'no longer our country', etc. etc.

rush limbaugh is a bigot, and a racist. He knows it and flaunts it, and his followers, most of whom must clearly be challenged in some way to lap up his word as gossip, will do anything in their power to deny his words for what they are: hate. He does it because he knows it gets him money. In the end, he'll die like everyone else does, and I hope at that point just before he realizes how utterly stupid his years and years of being a moron were nothing but demeaning comments for momentary comforts.

The tools that follow him? well.... they are already suffering, I suspect; they just need something to blame their grief on.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

rush limbaugh is a bigot, and a racist. He knows it and flaunts it

And he, along with others of his ilk, had to find a way to judo-flip those who would have the temerity to point out the obvious. So they came up with "political correctness." Therefore, taking a show like Amos 'n Andy off the air wasn't done because it portrayed a disadvantaged minority unfairly, it was done because of political correctness.

If you've ever listened to his show, you realize, that agree with him or not, he's fun to listen to.

I can watch the thing they call "professional wrestling" for a few minutes every decade and find it funny for a second or two. But anyone who would subject their minds to a steady diet of that or its verbal equivalent in Limbaugh, et.al., is an utter moron.

I think I owe a debt those backward people, after all they are the ones who go to work everyday to put bread on the table to support their families, and sometimes they are so good at it that they can also produce enlightened children who can call them backward for doing it.

Growing up in a working-class suburb of Detroit, I lived on a block where everyone did those things, including my own parents. You wanna know what most of those folks called African-Americans?

At least you should try to understand that the reason anyone called anyone else "backward" had nothing to do with their going to work every day. Most of the men who beat up and/or cheated on their wives, or physically abused their kids were hard workers too.

Maybe you just want to pretend that backward people don't exist. The success of Rush Limbaugh indicates to me that they are out there in force.

Racial pride can be harmful to society especially when one person or groups of people of one race think that their race is better than others. Racial slurs or slang is always degrading and disrespectful. For someone to say racial slurs to another individual is uncalled for and can cause another problem, fighting. I think racial slurs are commonly told to others because of the person's pride. Stop the hate, do not be a hater, you have a choice to stop the rage. The United States is a melting pot of different cultures and races therefore the beliefs, values and traditions for each race are different, unique and special in their own way. All of us are humans living on this planet daily striving for better futures and want more out of life. We the people should stick and work together instead of hating and fighting. After all, we're all the same and created from the same primortal mix of life, just trying to survive on a daily basis.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Was she making fun of the Chinese president, who had just visited the US?

Who cares? I was flipping through some channels at a russian hotel a year or so ago and a popular show was featuring my president playing basketball and eating fried chicken. There are racist jerks in russia, I have no doubt they exist in china, and there are in the U.S. Some just know how to profit off of it better than others.

I don't even know why people still get upset by what he says anymore. Or why people still get upset about rasists in general, they exist, there's a lot of them, and they're everywhere.

I had no clue of who Mr Limbaugh is, so went to youtube and searched. This man is obviously a clown ,makes money through saying funny things. Then how it becomes a big deal when he makes fun of Hu? If Obama does this ,its news...but for Mr L. its business as usual. Politicians in the West are all subjected to all types of comments, 24/7.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

“The comments that he made—the mimicking of the Chinese language—harkens back to when I was a little boy growing up in San Francisco and those were hard days, rather insensitive days,” Yee said in an interview Thursday. “You think you’ve arrived and all of a sudden get shot back to the reality that you’re a second-class citizen.”

Indeed, mimicking the use broken English, which he did elsewhere on the show, served to reinforce the status of Chinese, and el Rushbo threw in Japanese as well since "it all sounds the same to me," as aliens forever consigned to the margins of dominant society. If you are a member of the dominant society, you're likely totally ignorant of the experiences of someone like Yee.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"If you are a member of the dominant society, you're likely totally ignorant of the experiences of someone like Yee": NOPE, I am not a member of the dominant society; but through out the years I learn to keep good ,valuable comments and let useless, ridiculous ones be gone with the winds :-).

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"I am not a member of the dominant society; but through out the years I learn to keep good ,valuable comments and let useless, ridiculous ones be gone with the winds."

You have to have the ability to make that judgement, you are not born with it. What would Chinese think about this like rant? It would probably reinforce their view that Americans are fat slobs whose days of glory are numbered. I don't believe it got any attention in China. By contrast, Sasha Obama's practicing her Chinese with President Hu did. It reinforced a sense that power is shifting in their favor. Still, President Hu's presumed successor has a daughter at Harvard, where she's a freshman. Her English may be better than that of many Americans due to what the Chinese call, "eating bitterness" or the ability to work hard to master a difficult task. By contrast, the only thing Rush looks like he eats is too many donuts.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What has Rush really accomplished in 20yrs+ of radio popularity? -He has gotten rich while the American populace has gotten poorer. --> Maybe Rush is not the solution, but part of the cancerous system.

What has Oprah really accomplished in her 20+ years? They're both entertainers, they both make tons of money, they both have political views, if usually in opposition, and they both give tons of money to charity. What has either of them accomplished? I mean apart from the obvious of having made a good living, and provided for themselves and others they care about? For that matter, what have you accomplished?

There is racist ultra-right wingers in america just like in Japan and some people defend a racist remark. Why I am not surprised at all?

You ever notice how the people screaming racism, tend to be the most racist?

And he, along with others of his ilk, had to find a way to judo-flip those who would have the temerity to point out the obvious.

And then there are those who preemptively strike to make it seem that anyone who defends someone idiotically accused of racism, must therefore be racist. Either that or stupid.

But anyone who would subject their minds to a steady diet of that or its verbal equivalent in Limbaugh, et.al., is an utter moron.

That means, much of the media are utter morons. Rush jokes about it, but it really is true, the rest of the media listens to what he says, and for good reason. He has a huge audience, and is very influential. That makes anything he says, news, and they damn well know it. Whats so pathetic, is these morons who are so filled with hate towards the right, that even mentioning the name Rush, just sets em off. They've got nothing to go on, hell they've probably never even heard the man speak, but they know hes influential, conservative, and that makes them hate him.

Who blocked Limbaugh from buying an NFL team?

A minority stake in an ownership bid. The man loves football. He has tons of money, and so when a friend of his was interested in purchasing the Rams, he offered Limbaugh an opportunity. Because of the controversy, mostly by people who had no clue what they were talking about, the group was forced to retract their offer, and he stepped aside from the bid. Your reference to Rush's comments about McNabb are dumb by the way. He stated his opinion, that McNabb was overrated. Note, he didn't say he wasn't a good QB. In fact he said he was a great one, just that McNabb in his opinion was overrated. In retrospect most people agree that opinion was wrong, but then my opinion on Kurt Warner was wrong too. The problem is, that people are so hyper-sensitive about race, that daring to suggest that race might place even the slightest role in something, magically makes you racist.

At last, someone who actually gets it. A loon demands an apology from an entertainer... Who is the real clown here?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"A loon demands an apology from an entertainer..."

That's how you describe Senator Leland Yee, how do you know what he's accomplished in life? Maybe he's as hardworking as any "backward" person. Let's not forget, Rush himself has reached from the victim card for time to time. When he had his legal troubles, he blamed them on a "liberal prosecutor." 'Nuff said.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I meant "from time to time."

It's unlikely Yee really expects an apology. For one thing, Rush's audience would desert him for being an "appeaser." Indeed, Yee "received a fax from an unknown sender which made racist comments and labeling him a Marxist. 'Rush Limbaugh will kick your Chink ass and expose you for the fool you are,' part of the memo said. (wiki source)

What Yee probably wants to do is publicize the incident to mount a campaign to scare away Limbaugh's show sponsors. Hint 'em in the pocketbook.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That's how you describe Senator Leland Yee, how do you know what he's accomplished in life? Maybe he's as hardworking as any "backward" person.

Do a bit of research. Theres a very good reason for calling him a loon. If the shoe fits...

Let's not forget, Rush himself has reached from the victim card for time to time. When he had his legal troubles, he blamed them on a "liberal prosecutor." 'Nuff said.

Can you think of anyone, that has been gone after the way Rush was, for 'Doctor shopping'? The only ones I can think of offhand is the Duke Rape case, and you know how that turned out. Aside from that, the case against Rush was eventually dismissed completely. That should pretty much sum everything there up.

What Yee probably wants to do is publicize the incident to mount a campaign to scare away Limbaugh's show sponsors. Hint 'em in the pocketbook.

Nope, not the case at all. What he wants, is to get himself elected. By being see to go after a big name person like Rush, who is widely perceived as being on the opposite side, this clown can likely get elected to higher office. Keep in mind where he's from.

Limbaughs sponsors aren't going to be bothered by a bit of controversy. His ratings are so high, and his product endorsements so lucrative, that it really doesn't matter what he says. The sponsors are going to make more money sticking with him, then they would if they bailed and he mentioned them as bailing on his show.

Limbaugh doesn't owe Lee an apology.Who made Lee representative for all the Americans of Asian ancestry in the country???? He is an elected rep, a crybaby Democrat in the fast failing state of California. His voters have much bigger problems facing them than the uncouth opinions of a blowhard on the radio.Don't like Limbaugh? Change the station.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If America is so racist how did Lee, of Asian ancestry, get as far as the senate in a state which which is more powerful and wealthier than almost any country in Europe?????

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I don't care what Rush or any of his political Zombies think or say. The problem is that his Zombies just keep coming back to life. Rush's indoctrinated Zombies not as bad as the Lib Zombies or GoreBots.

With everything going virtual now -How are we able to defeat these Zombies and Bots?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Limbaugh is a classic case of lack of attention in his childhood and a child who had a invisible friend. Unfortunately, he doesn't realize that people now pay attention to him just to hear the next ludicrous remark. Very few people can listen to him for the entire three hours of his show. Maybe it is the classic "The Emperor's Clothes" syndrome.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Do a bit of research. Theres a very good reason for calling him a loon."

I already did that. Wonders never cease, Leland Yee is an overachieving immigrant. He came to the US at age 3 and went on to earn a PhD in Child Psychology. If he were a Republican, he would be lauded as an the personification of the American Dream. But he's a Democrat and that makes him a "loon."

"What he wants, is to get himself elected. By being see to go after a big name person like Rush, who is widely perceived as being on the opposite side, this clown can likely get elected to higher office."

The only office he seems interested in is Mayor of San Francisco. It's questionable how taking on Limbaugh would help him achieve that goal given there's really only one side in SF.

"If the shoe fits..."

It seems you have a case of bound feet. Not everyone does, however. While politicians are mocked all the time, this can be done with resorting to ethnic slurs. Yee has found support beyond the Asian American community:

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) condemned the racist and threatening faxes that were sent to California State Senator Leland Yee this week. The messages come on the heels of Senator Yee's criticism of Rush Limbaugh for making remarks about China's President Hu Jintao that played on stereotypes about Chinese people. Regional Director Daniel S. Sandman stated that, "It is intolerable for anyone to resort to prejudice and intimidation to make a political point. The reported bigoted content of the faxes is deeply disturbing. We hope that a thorough investigation will reveal the identities of the perpetrators and put an end to this attempt to menace one of our public officials."

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"this can be done withOUT resorting to ethnic slurs"

Reliance on ethnic slurs was common in the past, hence the "backward" association.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"the case against Rush was eventually dismissed completely. "

Not exactly; a "deferred prosecution" agreement was reached whereby he agreed to meet certain conditions, including court=administered drug tests. The charge was dropped after he remained clean for 18 months.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

At least Richard Pryor was funny when he did it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If he were a Republican, he would be lauded as an the personification of the American Dream. But he's a Democrat and that makes him a "loon."

Nope, not his party that makes him a loon, its what the man believes, what he stands for. What he supports. Theres loon Republicans as well as Dems, just as there are conservative Dems, as there are Republicans. He however is so far left wing, that calling him a loon seems more then appropriate. Given that he's from Frisco, his trying to separate himself from the rest of the loons, makes a lot of sense.
