Pay attention, DPRK - talk is cheap, but it isn't free. There are consequences for periodically threatening to nuke others.

The Korean Peninsula was split into the U.S.-supported, capitalistic South Korea and the Soviet-backed, socialist North Korea after its liberation from Japan’s 35-year colonial rule at the end of the World War II in 1945.
Written as though it just happened, with no description of the actors who put this into action, or their mentality/justification.
Regardless, this is what created North Korea to begin with.
Equally important and neglectful is the failure of Anthony to point out that after entering the South, the US military govt not only retained some Japanese police, they reinstated to power those Koreans who had been the administrative and security apparatus of the Japanese Imperial govt during their 35 year occupation of the peninsula, who had actively worked with their Japanese masters to exploit their fellow Koreans. This action bewildered and enraged the Korean citizens, and is the flash point which led to the outbreak of the Korean War.

Is there any need to discuss the details? It would obviously have been better if the US demanded all of Korea but at the time the Soviet Union was thought to be a responsible country in terms of foreign policy.
Absolutely wrong. The North tried to foment revolution and when that failed miserably thanks to the US, they went for a full invasion.

The North tried to foment revolution and when that failed miserably thanks to the US, they went for a full invasion.
This is the outdated popular narrative propagated by the mass media used to cover up the truth and justify the choking sanctions and war game exercises that the US carry out against the North. It is part of the massive demonization of the North which has been waged by the US through the mass media (several accusations, i.e. that certain NK officials had been brutally executed were proven to be complete fabrications when these same officials turned up at public events) for the past 70+ years.
Anyone who does their due diligence will find that what is popularly accepted as true regarding key details of the Korean war are not supported by the verifiable facts:
[ one of the original questions about the Korean War remains to be answered: Why did the promise of Korean independence in August 1945 result in an international, brutal war that killed millions of people? Several prominent historians of modern Korea have criticized the problems endemic to the US occupation of South Korea.[4] Their main premise is that Korea after liberation was revolutionary. According to this narrative, Koreans organized people’s committees throughout the country and established the People’s Republic of Korea under leftist leadership. Guided by a vigorous Cold War mindset and US nationalism, the US Army and its officials refused to acknowledge the People’s Republic and recruited pro-Japanese collaborators to serve in the police force and the government. The US military violently suppressed Korean leftists and protestors. This reversal of the Korean revolution by the US paved the way for the Korean War.
This powerful critique of the US occupation of Korea has helped us recognize the deeper, indigenous contexts of the war, including the hopes and frustrations of Koreans after colonialism and the violence of the US occupation in South Korea. ]

I'll tell you what is not a fabrication: NK is completely black from space as if they hadn't discovered the lightbulb. When people defect, they speak of starvation on a mass scale, too.
That's a nice pro-communist blub you got there. Why not post the source if you are going to copy paste? The fact is the "revolutionary" Korea would never have been successfully crushed if it had any kind of popular backing. Seems like they liked their dictators more than your revolutionaries. At any rate, it explains nothing about why the North had to resort to invasion to keep its revolution alive.
I imagine if you ask any South Korean, they want no part of being reunited under Kim.

LOL
It's called scholarship, in this case written by Yumi Moon, an associate professor in the Department of History at Stanford University. She posted this piece with her sources on the Wilson Center's website https://www.wilsoncenter.org/blog-post/korean-uprisings-1946-was-us-occupation-responsible-korean-war
She might have a slightly more informed perspective than you, seeing that she has to support her statements (strictly vetted by other researchers) with verifiable facts, whereas you just spout a bunch of trite statements here (i.e. "The fact is the "revolutionary" Korea would never have been successfully crushed if it had any kind of popular backing," when we now know that US-installed president Rhee felt so threatened by the popular anti-US revolutionary sentiment that he summarily rounded up and mass executed anyone suspected of being pro-left in the Bodo League massacre, in which at least 100,000 perished; when pro-US president Lee Myung-bak came to power he ordered an immediate cessation of the investigation into how many were actually killed) and never have to answer for how your hot air schtick actually stacks up against the evidence.

You all can gab about causes of the Korean War. But if you took a vote today how many South Koreans would want to see their country ruled by the Kim Regime? Because that's what's in the preamble to the DPRK constitution, the national goal of unifying the Korean Peninsula under North Korean rule.

Should forming an Eurasian QUAD to confront US globally aggression. This is essential and the only language US & her running dogs understood.
Russia, China, North Korea, Belarus all of them were nuclear armed nations and if one of them under drive, the other three will response in full force!

@Ossan
You've missed the point altogether.
The military industrial complex (the one President Eisenhower warned us about in his farewell address)-driven US has led the brigade to put the North in a tight spot via the choking sanctions, war games etc. instead of working towards peace on the peninsula which Uncle Sam played an outsized role in ripping apart because a destabilized, hungry North has been worth trillions in arms sales.
Rather than resorting to the trite "Well I bet you South Koreans don't want to live under Kims regime" (South Korea's high rate of suicide and low Life Satisfaction rating tell us that things aren't so rosy in the South either; Squid Game and the movie Parasite also reflect this), a preferable and more commendable course of action would be to man up, take responsibility and actively work to clean up the mess the US has created.

'More dangerous'? Gee, whassa madda Song Kimmy boy? Did Kim FlatTop tell you to say this? That's right now, be as goody oylal Commie boy and spout out the swill that the NKCP told you to say. Yeah! Play that projectionism game. It's always somebody else at fault but never your own.

Take your propaganda and shove it! Nobody wants to hear your Commie whining. Go back and snivel to the 'Great Leader' poobah and tell him to can it, too! The UN has enough problems, issues and more important things to handle than your constant crying.
