Other than possibly obtaining "rare earth" materials, what do any of those backwater desert ghettos have to offer? And why would it be impossible to deal with the local warlord to obtain said materials? Leave the sheep stealing, mankind hating, backwards yokels alone. I always thought The U.S. was smarter than that... Guess not.
