They only temporarily reduce the symptoms.

Symptoms such as death. If you get the vaccine, you will experience less death.

You could of course chose more death if it helps you feel more 'Freedom' or whatever else fully-vaccinated Tucker & his billionaire chums fleece your mind for.

Another factually accurate statement: a vaccinated individual can transmit the virus.

Yes, but a lot less. And that multiplies when everyone they are in contact with at a venue is vaccinated.

Israel tried this same tactic and it is a failure. Why? Because the vaccines don’t work to prevent covid cases or transmission. They only temporarily reduce the symptoms.

Ummm, no. Israel has a pitifully low rate of vaccination would be reason there. Of course, why not perfect, the vaccines work very well in preventing infection and transmission.

I LIVE IN AUCKLAND. jeffb has zero idea what it is talking about. The vaccinations are free and available

TO EVERYONE. A small %age choose not to, mostly our indigenous peoples & those from Polynesia.

Your comments are based on what? FACT???!!! Yeah/Na.

It’s one thing if lockdowns and discrimination against healthy people were based on science, but NZ’s policies are purely tyrannical.

And agree with others, the reliance on “zero COVID” policy and high vaccinations will result in more lockdowns as cases will continue spiking as there is little natural immunity and use of therapeutics.

In Auckland, which has been at the center of the nation's outbreak, the rate is over 90%.

Do readers just skip over this?

“the center of the outbreak is 90% vaccinated.”

what?

“the center of the outbreak is 90% vaccinated.”

what?

No. Having been far lower the vaccine rate is now 90% more than 3 months after the outbreak. Hence NZs R value now dropping below 1 despite loosening restrictions

So the vaccine does prevent transmission?

The threat posed by the new omicron variant did not change plans for the reopening,

One thing we know about Omicron already is that it certainly infects the vaxxed. So if their plan is still this pie-in-the-sky zero virus goal, they will have to lock down again.

So the goal is to prevent transmission of the virus worldwide.

vaccines don’t prevent transmission, the science is clear.

so get vaccinated anyway as the only way to meet the goal. Huh? oh and wear a mask.

Yes, but a lot less.

How much is "a lot less"? And do you have data for the claim?

Count the days until they shut down again because of Omicron. It wont take long, promise.
