Australia saw another day of rising COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations

So how did the draconian lockdowns and restrictions of people work to keep the virus out? Dont say nobody pointed out how misguided the policy is.

The continuing Rise in cases in Victoria has caused reimposition of Covid restrictions on numbers of people in businesses. First steps in to the reimposition of full lockdowns as I predicted. Note of course so far does not apply to the tennis which still takes precedence over anything else.

Still sticking with masks and vaccines as the “solution”? Or can we move past that now?

“Case numbers are less of an issue,”

Then stop reporting them.

Still, they have a Covid death rate infinitely better than your country. Averaging 7 deaths per day.

Thanks to vaccination.

Hospitalized for covid, or hospitalized for something else and happened to test positive?

Thankfully with our testing limits we’ll never see those numbers . Maybe 30,000 tops here

Bobo , was that a joke? Pretty sure most people know that Japan does very little testing. But it would be interesting to see what Japan's real numbers are. I live in Vancouver our province is setting record high number's every day for the last couple of weeks. We had 3800 today, but in reality it's probably 10 time's that number.

Quite well as it happens. What we're seeing now is case numbers rising in a highly vaccinated population. The numbers of hospitalizations and deaths are not rising in nearly the same proportion as raw case numbers. Similar case numbers prior to vaccination ( ie when those measures were in place ) would have resulted in thousands and thousands of deaths. Queensland in particular, while by no means perfect, is transitioning from essentially to covid zero to "living with the virus" via having a 80% vax rate. We'll see how things go over the next few weeks, but it's very unlikely we'll see anything like what we witnessed in the US and Europe last year.

Thanks to vaccination.

sure about that?

A double-vaccinated man in his 20s was among six deaths reported Thursday in Australia’s most populous state.

ok so how abt numbers of seriously ill or dead?

i did not find single mention about this.

so yes its one sided panic starting article...with most important informations missing in it.

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

It seems that folks may have to be quintuple vaxxed to possibly be "protected". That, or develop natural immunity from an infection .

ICU patients now comprise approximately 7% of total capacity. Time to panic /s
