Dutton is is opposition with the Liberals now having no voice at all. Dont worry about them they are irrelevant.

The Government under Albanese needs to look at Defence spending very carefully and find ways to increase it ( not decrease funds as when they were last in power).

Perfect move by the Liberals to remain in opposition for the next 3 years. This shows they have learned exactly nothing from the recent election as this guy is unelectable and no amount of trying to psuedo soften his image can fool anyone. Most people would probably be thinking that the comparison with the Harry Potter character might have been rather apt but you are not allowed to say these sort of things in Australia at least straight after an election when suddenly everyone is being nice to each other.

The man is a narcissist has no empathy will quash any decent that doesn’t support his view. it’s a matter of record that although Australia is spending more under his watch new helicopters now prove useless, submarine contracts an international mess. Ship building programs in a state of confusion. He is more of a threat to Australian security than some other country. I hope he stays in opposition as in power he would be a disaster.

In other words, this guy is perfect as leader of the 'Liberals'. He's even got that James Bond villain look. Blofeld?

It may be time for New Zealand to reintroduce a couple of fighter squadrons to its toothless air force.

Agreed. One fighter squadron based in Australia, one at home.

In the past they had a fixed presence in Singapore and Thailand.

Plus, more people would attend the airshows. There's only so many Hercules short take offs the populace can put up with.

Warmonger at the very least.

A former police officer, Dutton made a name for himself in politics with tough talk and a penchant for headline-grabbing commentary.

Words are cheap, mate. He is just like other politicians. All talk but no action.

With the recent move's by China in the Pacific, in three years time a hard line leader against China may well be a very electable alternative. Labor has three years to impress the electorate or to fail to do enough to thwart Chinese ambitions of regional dominance.

It may be time for New Zealand to reintroduce a couple of fighter squadrons to its toothless air force.
