Oh it would have slowed the spread as well as the urgency to develop and distribute the vaccine as people would be falsely lead to believe they have time and there was no rush, just like we see now in Australia that lived in an illusion that isolation have them time.

Now they are far behind in vaccination and in another lockdown.

Yes controling or slowing travel is a good thing but the only real solution is vaccination.

That quasi biological warfare needs exactly the corresponding quasi military countermeasures. And now we have some countries and regions who know or feel that too and react adequately, and we have the bigger majority of countries and regions who haven’t done and still don’t anything for almost 2 years now. Now guess, how that will continue to work out everywhere?

Correct it is not a silver bullet and if you keep reading I also point out covid will be with us for a long time.

We can mitigate it's impact but we will not eliminate it in the way smallpox was.

You like to take small things out of context to try and do some sad "gotcha" but fail.

What an effort. Highly, highly commendable! Hope they get their 40 million vaccines ASAP which they will use up with equal determination, in no time. There are only these two ways to handle this variant & the former not sustainable in the long run.

Just vaccinate! I live on the West Coast of Canada. We have a 84% vaccination rate for 12 and older, and our numbers are way down so are our hospital stays, and no deaths in the last 6 day's.

On my post above we are down 95% positive case's since our peak in the 3rd wave. Proof vaccinations work.
