Great job Australia.

So every time there is a virus now, you have to lockdown a city or a country? Absolute insanity.
Blacklabel
these lockdowns are just not sustainable.
the precedent has been set and people have supported the governments in doing so..... this time. But for next time it will be really hard to take back these freedoms freely given up.
the first time there seemed to be a valid reason, but that never seems to be the case for the subsequent times and appears even less and less necessary the more times it is done.

Tell that to the dead. Australia’s strategy of early, severe action clearly saves both lives and livelihoods.

Until next time they have a few cases.
Swiss. Locking down is like making love to a beautiful woman……….

Go hard, go early and way of life returns much faster. Melbournian's like me fully support such actions to keep everyone safe. An absolute majority agree with these lockdowns here so until everyone gets vaccinated we will continue to do what is right and necessary. Completely sustainable due to the support of the people.

of some. While having the exact opposite effect on others.

It is a great excuse for authoritarianism. Isn't the Victoria governor a great fan of the CCP, with support for the Belt and Road program and ties to the Anti-Taiwan "Australian Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China"? The videos of police violence against dissidents in Meldbourne could come right out of Beijing.

taking care of patient at the early stage is what makes the difference between life and death, lockdown is only necessary when you do not want to give your heath care system the necessary fund and support to work efficiently (when saving money is more important than saving life).

Do the hustle
Two weeks of inconvenience is much better than months or years of hardship dodging a rampant viral outbreak.

But repeated lockdowns have not solved the problem. And rolling lockdowns are gradually piling up social and economic trouble for the future

Agree

Is Australia vaccinating people ?

Google psychological effects of lockdowns and image next year.

Not laughable but reality. Of course they don´t show you on CNN, but if you go to Avi Yemini you can see enough footage.
Take a look outside the bubble.

That can't be. Everyone on this board keeps telling us lockdowns aren't sustainable.
Who's trying to sustain them? Australia is ending this one. That's the thing, when you do it right, there is no need to sustain a lockdown. Now Melbourne goes back to living a normal life, going to bars, watching live music, enjoying concerts etc, while the rest of us are still in it. And Australia's economy is booming.
So it's not clear what exactly you're angry about here.
