Really?
statistics were during the peak of the lockdown April 2020, far different now, US for example had 15% unemployment at the same period over 30million lost jobs, its now 8.5% . Australia as of August 2020, 6.8%
yep so certainly doing better than countries that havent contained the pandemic.
got to be careful not to cherry pick data,

Lol bring on the salty 'They' will never return freedoms once 'They' take it brigade.
Australia is doing an excellent job. Yes, there has been economic pain, and it's probably not the end of the road, but the results around the country of a decisive plan of action based on public health speak for themselves.
Do the hustle
it’s a city of 4.5 million people.

Good. The Melbourne virus laws were stronger than the virus.
and just how much value do you put on human lives!?
Haaa Nemui
Being stronger is a good tactic in a battle.

The s.o.e in april although I disagreed was understandable given so much was unknown.
To still be in lockdown now its known that thd survival rate for known cases is 99.4%
, at least. Makes no sense
after nine months why people haven't reevaluated the reward of lockdowns is plain stubbornness.

And misbehaving children get to see their parents and/or grandparents gasp for air before dying. But don't let that bother you. I'm sure clubbing and pub-crawling is more important.

That's how you have to play this. Unfortunately, Europe and the Americas can't seem to make people realize what is actually necessary for them to do. It's very simple.
Do the hustle
How about we bring back the half a million people that have been killed by the virus worldwide first?

You know your elderly father will die one day. Would you rather he had another 20 years to spend with you or would you mind if he went tomorrow?

Well Done Melbourne and Daniel Andrews. Beating the virus is a work in progress and the progress is good.
bob
they locked down a city of 790000 which had 19 covid deaths in 10 weeks. Less than 2 a week (avg age no doubt in the 80s as usual)
that equals 0.000035% of the population/day.
untold businesses and lives destroyed as a result.
The very definition of insanity.

“How about we bring back the half a million people that have been killed by the virus worldwide first?”
Lets start with the marriages destroyed, suicides, and cancer patients who’ve missed their treatment thanks to these stupid measures
Goodlucktoyou
Probably the same as North Korea.

Yes, let's have a world where nobody ever dies.

I have stay home for almost a month now. I don't have any stress and complaint about curfew and lockdown. My wife goes shop because I can't walk. I have lower back surgery.
We have talk and watched TV. Sometime, I was surffing Internet. Nothing boring in life but if you're seeing negative and then it's your fault. Important thing is we need beat this evil Corronavirus Covid-19 and disappeared permanently from the earth. We have followed government's instruction and restriction. We have some good result for that. Our Government was doing really well.

Australian economy is doing far better than countries that havent contained the pandemic yet

sorry, meant to say Leeds in the UK as another example of the hysteria

Pukey2: Most of my family I grew up with has died around me. Of course I would have liked more time with them. But nobody is guaranteed that time. That's why life needs to be prioritized over fear of dying. (Unless, of course, the risk is quite high and avoidable.) The destruction of so many lives to perhaps limit (far from proven) a death that will strike relatively few is perverse. The whole overreaction to Covid stink of politics exploiting irrational fears of death.
Most of us are going to die sooner than we would like, so I would suggest spending what time you have living fully rather than hiding and putting life on hold, and hoping death will pass you by.
bob
This right here is the mindset that cripples so many people.
I don't know if its the result of the easiest living conditions in human history, the softest generation of westerners ever, technology, or whatever.
But this inability to deal with trauma and demand that there be no death - ever - has rendered people frozen in fear.

And how do you know they would be alive if there was no Corona? There is a lot of interpretation in these numbers.

And do you think you save him by locking him in a stuffy room, depriving him of sunlight (vitally necessary to produce vitamin D), and destroying the economy for everyone?

Nicely behaved children get a pat on the head, and get to play outside

Whick just bolsters the argument you replied to even more.
Lets bring back common sense...
