I’m living in the East coast of Australia a few hundred kilometers north of Sydney. There are no fires near us at present. However, the sky is orange and there is a constant rain of fine ash covering everything. It’s Australia’s version of PM2.5. People working outside have been warned to wear masks. I flew down the east coast from Brisbane to Sydney the other day and the fires are everywhere. It’s a big catastrophe. It’s was like all the forests were either on fire or had already been burned.

And as usual newspaper forums on Murdoch rags are full of people blaming environmentalists and green tape, for stopping hazard reduction burning .

This rubbish declared a "myth /conspiracy theory that gets a run after all major fires "

Doesn't stop conservative politicians from using it.

Everybody on the right of politics condemning any mention of global warming {its unseemly apparently, while the fires are burning }.

Australians of limited education have had decades of economic growth and now are aghast there may be a price to pay for living off the back of coal exports etc.

Australia about 20 years behind Europe in accepting and adapting to global warming.

No light in sight with our silly evangelicalist Prime Minister who is "praying for rain " and ignoring climate change.

The right with a lethal cocktail of conspiracy theorists, anti-science headbangers and religious crackpots will be the death of many on this planet.

Death by stupidity.

You could make a better argument for your point of view by at least quoting a climate scientist or through the use of logic. Calling people that disagree with you “crackpots” will only convince them that you are an extremist and a nut.
