Right, and none of those things happened in places that did nothing and were harder hit by the virus and still havent dealt with it after over a whole year.

What would you call Japan if not an island nation?

Australia’s success against the virus is the result of vigilance with strict lockdowns, border closures and isolation of infection clusters.

What a strange headline!

Even on Easter holidays, The Corona Virus must be mentioned.

But at least a positive headline!

And it is contraire to what I said this morning that no good news will be published.

But this is a good news.

I really appreciate that.

It’s fascinating the contrast between the no holds barred Australian & NZ approaches to risk mitigation; basically shut down huge swathes of the economy and pay a third of the population the equivalent of a universal income for the best part of a year, and Japan’s here’s 10万円 and a couple of face masks and be on your way minimalism. Nagatacho must be jumping with joy at the stars aligning with a devalued yen bolstering export competitiveness and a stock market not far shy of the high point reached during the bubble years.
