I am sure most Australians are very grateful to their masters for this new privilege of being able to leave the country like other people do in free countries. May they all behave well, so that their new travel privileges are not revoked.

Yay freedom! The government allows its subjects to freely move about, temporarily at best.
how magnanimous of the overlords.

"You are now allowed to leave prison!......IF you've yielded to our forced vaccination program."

New South Wales will open to international travel with a double vaccination rate of nearly 80%. We live in New South Wales and my Japanese wife wishes to visit her adult kids in Japan. However, we can only fly from and return to Sydney as the other states still have the 2 weeks quarantine. The sad thing is, we live closer to Queensland than Sydney. We have to take a domestic flight to Sydney instead of a 50 minute train trip to Brisbane.

Australia is on the front line for climate change. Intense heat, drought and wildfire seasons. Escape whilst you can, before the next variant, sub-variant, mutation, wave, virus or whatever else they use to close the borders again.

Edgy attention seeking.

A calculated move by the PM and some State leaders. Should things go south with a worse variant to Delta then things could again change.
Remember Spanish flu pandemic lasted six years. We are two years into this pandemic and could have a year or more of surprises left in store for us. Let's hope not.
But for my perspective I was happy with zero covid policy and would love to be living in WA where it is still covid zero. Australia and its states have done an outstanding job all up considering how bad it could have gotten. It could not have gone much better than it did thanks to leadership not often shown by Australian politicians. I give three thumbs up out of three.

Like I said, you must be grateful. I find it astounding, but if you wish to surrender your democracy that's entirely your right. You are not the only country doing so.
