One person dies “of the corona virus”, with underlying conditions.

And they get the military in? Something reeks here

I just love how people thinks. The following is from ABC Australia.

The ABC understands the Victorian Government has requested 300 ADF personnel, mainly medicos, for logistical support like helping with hotel quarantine and working in hotspot areas.

Not all military are for combats, there are medics.

By the way about a month ago there was a cluster outbreak at an hospital in Tasmania, military was sent into that area to set up field hospital to help contain the outbreak. Army medics are trained to handle bio hazard conditions. Australia is just using more resources to contain convid-19.

Yeah, reeks of stupidity and global hysteria.

Yeah. We Aussie are stupid and hysterical. But that stupidity and hysteria have kept us safe from the wrath of Covid-19. So that is not really a bad thing.

According to Australian National U., Australian men, on average, live to 74.1.

Technically, that is Australian males, as child deaths bring the average down.

A man aged 65 can expect to live to be 85, on average.

a man in his 80s died overnight from the coronavirus, the country's first death from the virus in more than a month,

I'm sorry for him, but is it newsworthy? A man of 80s is old enough to become susceptible to any health risks. He happened to die of covid 19 (causing pneumonia?)

@kyronstavic

No problem disagree by all means if I am wrong. The information I got was from a ABC interview he did back in 2018 I found on Youtube where he talked about being interested in mediacal ethics after his father died.

"Victoria Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton told reporters in Melbourne, taking the state tally to nearly 1,900 after recording 17 on Tuesday and 16 the day before."

As a person with no medical qualifications why would I take medical advice from a politician with no medical science qualifications? He was a professor of Medical Ethics and has a PhD in Medical Practice Theory.

Yes. I agree with you. Australia is a big country with little people so low population density has a given us an edge against covud-19. My comment is just a sarcastic return fire against someone thinking we are stupid.

maybe they should call the A-Team ? Oh no BA Barracas wouldn’t be getting on any airplane right now so forget it :)

Agreed - almost nobody in hospital, low levels of deaths. Life should go back to normal.

I don't like to disagree with you, but according to his LinkedIn page he's pretty solidly qualified as a physician. That said, I think he's over-reacting.

Yes. Because there could not possibly be other factors at work, such as geographical isolation, the season, the humidity level, low population densities, use of personal vehicles rather than public transport, etc. Nope. It was the public reaction. For sure.

Interesting... only one death in one month...

But, why are they in "panic" when they have so many now tested and confirmed having contracted the virus but not ill in a population of hundreds of thousands?

In fact why are they not reporting to let us know exactly how many of those tested actually became ill and were hospitalized?

In fact, what really is the definition of the "second wave"?

Is it the numbers who may become contracted or is it the number of (projected) deaths based upon the current (but still insufficient) data?

The current "trending" among polticians and government officials as with scientists and medical professionals "appear" to be trying to "avoid" making errors and having to take the "blame" for inadequate responses to the pandemic. That is besides all the other so called "conspiracy theories".

It is telling that there have been hundreds of cases since the last death. Is it fair to say that the virus is weakening in its intensity?

Seems like Chairman Dan is taking a leaf out of the book of his masters in Beijing.

I was just talking to my Dad in Victoria, who's in his 80s, and he thinks this is a major overstep in Andrews' authority.

As of yesterday, the official Australian Dept of Health website says that out of all the cases, there are 19 people hospitalised with COVID-19 symptoms, with 3 in ICU. 19. And the government shuts the whole state down and calls in the army.

https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert/coronavirus-covid-19-current-situation-and-case-numbers

Something stinks here, and it probably has something to do with promoting pseudo-mandatory vaccination. I'd only take it if I could first personally inject every single government politician to ensure it's safe. If any refused, that would indicate that it's not safe or there's something else going on.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the man died of old age.

Victoria has asked for assistance from the country's military

Over reaction?

Shoppers in the state will be limited to two items of products including toilet paper, hand sanitiser, flour, sugar, pasta, long-life milk, eggs and rice.

I really despise panic shoppers / hoarders.
