A dangerous move that could easily backfire in the years to come.

Australia has the capacity, intent and humanity to incorporate these women and children into society.

All are Australian citizens with most born in Australia. Some kids were born in Syria.

Those naysaying the plan, what exactly do you think should happen to them over the ensuing years / decades? Remain in barbarous conditions, to further fuel hatred?

They have a right - esp the children - to be brought back to Aust and cared for humanely.

Australia is well-equipped for this kind of mission.

Not wise to be talking about future missions in the International media, big mistake

Lakemba !!!

A name steeped in notoriety ....at least in the febrile minds of right wing ratbags.

Lakemba is a suburb in western Sydney with as many Chinese, Indians and probably Aussie born as Arab Muslims.

We have a new Government in Australia and the days of name calling and point scoring are over.

Now... Byron Bay ....have you heard that a few years ago it had the highest rate of street violence in NSW ?

Gee, you thought it was trend setters, influencers and Hollywood stars didnt you.?

Dont get me started on Coonabarrabran !

I don’t know exactly who these people are, but IS, Al-Q and Al Nusra were backed by western forces to overthrow Assad’s government.

No, they were not! Complete rubbish! Why even post Russian propaganda? Russia who massacred many thousands of civilians who wanted Assad gone.

Maybe this is some kind of agreement?

Repatriation will require compliance from the Syrian government, who no doubt wants to reduce the numbers in it's refugee camps.

Why not send them to Afghanistan - probably the closest to what they had longed for in ISIS ?

I still think a lot of people are overlooking that the so called innocent Children grow up without Fathers, and blame someone for that, and are easily coerced to seek revenge. I've seen this happen in other Countries, closer to home.... Look at the Northern Ireland, as one example.

I don't think the victims of ISIS had any say in the matter over their fate.

Do you think for one minute, that these Women haven't been brainwashed, and will raise their Kids with a hate of everything around them ?

How do you propose to handle that ? Love ?

@kipling

this is probably the first time ever that I agree with you

Why take an unnecessary risk. Leave them there to rot in the place of their choice.

Especially children are innocent victims, if they are deradicalized there will be no problem.

Be nice..

Why don't they just annex the territory occupied by their countrymen? That seems to be the way to do it nowadays.

did you ever heard about Lakemba?

what a dumb move...will backfire anytime later.
