Opening up makes everything worse. Saying lock downs do not work is completely wrong. Locking down is the best way to gain control. New Zealand and China have used lock downs to manage their situations and one is very populous and the other much smaller but it works on any scale when done right.

Protect the vulnerable and at-risk - and stop killing the futures of the average person.

Privately, I hear this opinion quite often but publicly, this opinion isn't very popular.

Would you like to enlighten me on how to protect the vulnerables?

I never understand that "Lockdown" thing.

Lockdowns don't work. You can see all over the world, that after Lockdowns, the life starts to go back to normal, the Virus also starts to spread.

Shall I laugh or cry?

Just like Fukushima, lines on a map don’t stop the transmission.

....and Taiwan, which is the country has dealt best with Corona, had no lockdown.

No lockdown but they quickly closed their borders...Unfortunately for us here who like to travel, that does seem to work. America closed to China early but let Italians come freely...should have known better. Trump probably only closed to China as part of his trade negotiations anyway...

Not too long ago the buzzword was flattening the curve, now I don't hear it mentioned anymore.

That's the reason for the lockdowns, to flatten the curve. To avoid overwhelming the health care system. To gain time to prepare.

And it works, to some extent, just like the other measures; and some countries have employed it more effectively than others.

Personally though, I'm not in favor of it. Comes at too great a cost. Not just to quality of life but to quantity as well.

Economic losses and loss of individual livelihoods translate to loss of lives too.

So, go and pick the data of your choice. (Btw, I think you realized that data published by the CCP are worth the pixels on your screen.)

Saying lock downs do not work is completely wrong.

Riiight. Because they've done really well so far, eh?

New Zealand and China have used lock downs to manage their situations and one is very populous and the other much smaller but it works on any scale when done right.

Yet the media still reports 'breakouts', 'second waves' and whatever buzz word fills the masses with fear in those countries anyway. Are you taking the financial ruin side of things into account? Are you really? Do you even know?

Privately, I hear this opinion quite often but publicly, this opinion isn't very popular.

Exactly! More people (with their eyes open), particularly health professionals and politicians, are going to have grow a spine and confrony this madness. Even though it is not 'popular'. Sooner will be infinitely better than later for those already looking down the breadline.

Or keep pandering to popularity (that's going really well) and watch it all slowly burn...

I wish this authoritarian overreach would finally stop. Fact is, for people younger than 45, the infection fatality rate is almost 0%. Other age groups should apply sensible measured, but for petes sake, this hysteria needs to stop.

Here is an interview that gives some perspective:

Lockdowns will just never work. They only hurt the people. Example:

Andrews said food and toys had been delivered to families

Was the food grown in Victoria? The toys made in Victoria?

There is no choice but to let it run its course and out it into proper perspective; that it's not all that bad! Not worth the lockdowns!

Protect the vulnerable and at-risk - and stop killing the futures of the average person.

@AgentX

I 100% agree.

I never understand that "Lockdown" thing.

Lockdowns don't work. You can see all over the world, that after Lockdowns, the life starts to go back to normal, the Virus also starts to spread.

Now Australia do this Lockdown again till end of July, then they open up again, and you will see the Virus is there again.
