The whole siuation is favorable to China, so it is not realistic to expect any action against it from their part. This is an attack more on China than on Russia.

Morrison talking more tounge in cheek as Chinese officials have stopped all ministerial level contacts with Australia for years. He knows that China will not respond to anything he says but he has provided a platform for them to reply if they wish. China will not get in the way of Russia, as Russia will stay out of China's way.

Russia has it's agenda as all nations do. Right now it is intimidation of Ukraine and attempts to gain concessions from NATO.

The West needs to stay firm and do nothing. If Putin acts then he will quickly find out what the West has in store for a response.

Lets all just hope this game of chicken ends peacefully.

This will be as productive as urging Russia to denounce China over Taiwan. But good for Australia to say what's right.

stopping the Ukrainian neonazi regime from killing the people of Donbass and to force the regime to implement the Minsk peace agreements.

Terrorists will always be targeted and these IS like terrorists in Donbas who have taken Ukraine territory and have refused to implement the Minsk agreements that stipulates the Ukraine has full border control returned to it, will continue to be targeted. Using the local population as human shields is further proof of their barbaric nature.

Calling the Ukraine government neo nazi's is typical fascist behavior. Russia needs to remove all its weapons systems from this terrorist enclave and allow the Ukraine to police its own people and territory instead of encouraging these criminals to continue to defy their government.

Someone needs to slap Russia into the middle of next week.

Someone needs to slap Russia into the middle of next week.

Once upon a time there were two tough leader who also thought that Russia must be slapped. Their names were Napoleon Bonaparte & Adolf Hitler. Very sad end for both.

No, the world knows the Russians in Donbas did it with a Russian Buk missile.

Something wrong with the brains of these people......

The world doesn't equal USA and a handful of lackey states.

Malaysia whose plane it was, for one of the vast majority of the actual world doesn't blame the Russians for it. They called the investigation a political sham.

Check Wiki or something for definition of terrorist. Hint: terrorists stage acts of terror, like bombings, indiscriminate killings etc.

Yes and like shooting down a passenger jet, exactly.

Making such labels is typical Western propaganda behavior.

And yet you have done so. I am confused, are you for or against the west?

Does not have any. You are welcome to provide evidence if you believe otherwise

All their armoured vehicles were supplied by Russia. As are their missile systems, artillery and all the ammunition they have fired off in the past eight years.

If you seriously think they are making all that stuff in Donbas your clearly uninformed.

Just another meaningless windbag statement from Morrison, desperately looking to see whether there’s another vote in this for him somewhere. Does he seriously expect China to denounce Russia? Of course not. And is it important in world terms what the Prime Minister of Australia would like China to say to Russia? Once again, of course not.

Yeah I guess if your not a military super power with nukes and the ability to invade others you should just be ignored because your opinion is worthless. Like most of the rest of the planet.

And a state built on genocide, is always quick to join US wars of aggression but sees fit to run around lecturing major and far more civilized powers about, 'human rights'.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Your complete lack of concern for thousands of people of Donbass killed by the regime terrorist air strikes and artillery bombardments is very notewhorthy.

That’s right folks. The only people suffering and dying are those in Donbass defending their homes and under attack by Ukraine with EU, US and UK cheerleading and cash.. But if the MSM don’t talk about, it’s not even on the radar of 75% of those compassionate liberals.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Sort of like a 'Trump won' believer asking Nancy Pelosi to denounce Biden over taking the oath of office.

It not only requires one to have climbed down a rabbit hole of unsubstantiated claims, but then to have ignored the statements by the 'asked' showing not only aren't they going to climb in the rabbit hole too, they're actually going to stand with your chosen target because they figure that they might as well face your outrage and vitriol now in the company of others, rather than face them alone later.

To keep it local, it’s time to use that ideal one and only time frame for getting those four occupied islands back while they have moved all troops to the West entangling the Ukraine.

Someone needs to slap Russia into the middle of next week.

Once upon a time there were two tough leader who also thought that Russia must be slapped. Their names were Napoleon Bonaparte & Adolf Hitler. Very sad end for both.

In both cases Russia was not a major military power threatening to invade other countries. And in both cases they attempted to actually invade Russia itself, which is not the case today.

Australia does not wage wars of aggression, we back up our mates and allies in what we believe to be righteous causes. Refer to WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam (a big loss), Kuwait, Afghanistan and the fight against IS. They should have stayed out of Vietnam but it was a fight against communism and the fake WMD in Iraq.

China has shown it is not yet a civilized nation as it continues to commit genocide and prepares to invade yet another neighboring country (Taiwan). They could use some lecturing. Australia is far more civilized than China, every day of the week.

Does anyone outside of Australia care what Australian policians do or say? If so, they shouldn't.

Yes and like shooting down a passenger jet, exactly

Ukrainians did it. That's why the U.S. refuses to share any intelligence on the targedy.

Your complete lack of concern for thousands of people of Donbass killed by the regime terrorist air strikes and artillery bombardments is very notewhorthy.

And yet you have done so. I am confused, are you for or against the west?

I am against the utmost duplicity and double standards the Western propaganda apparatus vividly demonstrates.

All their armoured vehicles were supplied by Russia

No, after several major defeats in 2014-15 the regime forces abandoned hundreds of tanks, APCs, guns etc. Military trophies. After the Vietnam war the Vietnamese equipped many army units with the captured American equipment, but it does not mean the U.S. provided Vietnam with weaponry.

Anyway, glad to see now you have no objections to my definition of the Ukrainian regime as neonazi.

Putin will back down. Russia barely has a pot to piss in as it is. If those ethnic Russians from Donbas want to rejoin Russia, let them move there.

China will not lift a finger to help Russia, its historic rival. China likely secretly wishes to regain the huge swaths of territory it lost to Russia in the 19th C. and is also terrified itself of similar demands upon its own territory.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

The US has failed in getting China to attack Taiwan and will not be able to get Russia to invade Ukraine despite the threat of NATO’s eastward expansion. These countries are not Libya or Venezuela.

Biden talks of placing sanctions on India, a democracy, just for defense contracts with Russia. There is no plan. Just a salesman going around knocking on doors trying to sell stuff.

It has done well in getting Australia to think China will invade Australia. Submarine and tank contracts have been signed. They must convince Australia to buy the F-35s. Japan has agreed to pay more. Australia needs to buy more and pull its weight.

Americans understand that Puty is trying to get what he wants by bluffing big time, however as you all know ~ The Western Super Powers know that Puty is bluffing and therefore are not giving into this clown of a Dicktator. Please. So obvious.

Before Australia invades Russia, be aware that Russian tanks have not crossed into Ukraine.

-4 ( +10 / -14 )

@Peter14

Check Wiki or something for definition of terrorist. Hint: terrorists stage acts of terror, like bombings, indiscriminate killings etc. Contrary to the Ukrainian regime, people of Donbass did nothing like that. And they did not "take Ukrainian territory", they live there for decades and generations.

Calling the Ukraine government neo nazi's is typical fascist behavior

Making such labels is typical Western propaganda behavior. And how you can call the regime forces if their official heroes are WWII Nazi collaborators like Bandera, they often use WWII Wehrmacht and SS insignia, and the volunteers killing the people of Donbass are openly admire Hitler, and roaming hordes of neonazi on the streets of the Ukrainian capital force the government do as they like?

Russia needs to remove all its weapons systems from this terrorist enclave

Does not have any. You are welcome to provide evidence if you believe otherwise. And the "terrorist enclave" is where the regime and its forces are.

I wonder what these political clowns are going to say in a month or two when all clearly thinking voters understand they were feeded all the time with lies and warmongering paranoia.

Can't wait for November when these people will be kicked out and have a lame-duck President in the WH.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

denounce Russia for what?? Russia didn't even do anything. Only the US democrats are actively trying to raise tensions.

-6 ( +9 / -15 )

Western leaders (including Australian) look more and more idiotic with every new day. They started hysteria about "Putin's invasion" in November, predicting Russian tanks crossing Ukrainian border first as soon as the autumn mud freezes. Then they promised the invasion on Christmas ("Putin wants to spoil us the holidays"), then on the New Year, now it's February 16th. I wonder what these political clowns are going to say in a month or two when all clearly thinking voters understand they were feeded all the time with lies and warmongering paranoia.

Instead of making sensless shrieks about 100 thousand Russian troops on the border (less then the number of Ukrainian troops there) Morrison, Johnson, Biden and other clowns of the Western circus should do something useful, like stopping the Ukrainian neonazi regime from killing the people of Donbass and to force the regime to implement the Minsk peace agreements. That will defuse the situation, not the delusional talk about the "Putin's invasion" that will never happen.

This statement just show how foolish west policy towards china has been.

First west does denounce china as the main enemy as did pompeo in 2020. Not a word about Russia in a Nixon center speech.

All about china.

China was the threat to the free world.

Time to stand up against cccp.

Not 2 years went by.

Putin declared Russia supremacy when it comes to hypersonic missiles.

Putin threatens Ukraine.

And Australia politician come to ask help from china to contain the bad guy - Russia.

Ridiculous.

In the 70s Nixon courted china exactly to contain Russia that was considered main threat.

That policy of engagement was thrown overboard.

And now oopppsss, the west does find out the bad guy is , surprise surprise, Russia, after all.

The same old Russia Kissinger and Nixon did contain , with their courtship of china

Ridiculous.

Australia, if it has enough courage & dignity should denounce US & UK over Ukraine. It's a shame to utter so much lies & not apologize for them. The LIARS must be denounced.

Tomorrow is February 16, the invasion D-day set by the Anglo-Saxon intelligence services & confirmed by country leaders. Let's wait & see. It's only a few hours remaining till tomorrow.
