are more concerned about the AstraZeneca vaccine's side effects than catching the virus.
That is exactly what I said here already many times.
But the self nominated experts here recommend just to ignore the side effects.
But I can not blame anyone, because in the beginning I thought the same, but as more and more problems came up with side effects, I changed my mind from ignoring to being careful.
And it seems that many Australians are really clever and take the side effects into consideration.

Why not making the rollout at "first come first served" basis, regardless of age? By so doing the process wouldn't go slow or clogged, and won't waste time in persuading targeted age groups. I don't think the overall population is reluctant. As younger and working age could become spreaders, jabs can also be prioritized for them.

Government officials seem to think they have magic powers, and just URGING will have an effect on people.

The threat of catching the virus is so low in Australia atm, that people are just a bit blase about the whole thing. All good. Eventually will catch up.

Can you tell us what these very numerous side effects are, then? Since "more and more" problems came up.

I got a sore left arm for a day and a half, I deemed it not serious since I had no trouble lifting a beer bottle.

The chance of serious side effect from AstraZeneca is so much less than getting a long term effect from covid or death from covid. Your taking a chance either way so at least make the odds in your favor and get vaccinated.
The more people who contract covid the greater the chance of varients being created and the greater the chance one of those variants will increase mortality rates.

Why take the risk? If you have a secondary illness that puts you at high risk from corona ok but if not it's a heavy influenza. The world has gone loco! 3 million people die from the flu every year but we didn't close borders and stop the.world! Crazy

It is a much bigger risk to not take it.

Good on these Australians for actually being allowed to have an opinion and not letting the government, the media and keyboard warriors decide how they live their lives.

My Aunt Sophia is taller than my Uncle Joe, therefore women are taller than men.

Stewie- I think they should vaccinate as many 60+ as possible in the next couple months and then open up.
There will be some community spread, which is a necessity for herd immunity, but COVID is nowhere near as deadly as initially feared, there are plenty of therapeutics, and hopefully most of the vulnerable will be protected.
Australia took an interesting approach to containing the virus. Seems to have worked initially, but in hindsight may not have been the most feasible.
