Oz politics, what a mess! Couldn't have happened to a more 'deserving' pollie though, Joyce's an embarrassment. Laughed it off a couple of weeks ago when a journo asked him if he was a kiwi saying 'no wayyy', well guess who's laughing now Barnaby!

Interestingly, anglo-aussie pollies seem to be the ones struggling most re possible dual citizenship ( Canavan being the exception).

Can't the national party just hold a snap election and replace their leader? Their leader would then take on the role as deputy pm. Only the PM is sworn in by the governor-general, so this could be a very smooth transition.

Citizen by descent? Even if one never wanted the citizenship?
