I wonder what the Aussies would do if all the big-time SNS providers respond to this by simply not providing services to Australians - Australia isn't that big in the big scheme of things. Give the SNS people too much aggro and they might just cut them off.

Australia was just fine before the digital age and if providers remove their "services", it'll be just fine, too.

I know when I was growing as a teen, Parents would allow teenagers a beer this being illegal with a $5000 fine on those who allow the minors alcohol. But society never saw any harm in it it was never report or enforced. So what happen when your teenage get hold of your phone with your permission after having a few beers with his dad and get on X etc. Your Cann't blame the platform on that action. So are they going to police this or just not enforce it like under age drinking in their own homes. Very tricky bit of legislation. I can see it achieving anything but a blackmarket for adult SIM cards.

"Don't worry, the Australian Government have your back," says Anthony Albanese. Yeah, and your front. And your sides. We've got you pretty much totally covered at this point.
Albo and his globalist cronies are always eager to expand government control, but let's be honest: they’re not doing it to protect kids - they’re doing it to tighten their grip on society while pretending to care about families. This so-called 'ban' on under-16s using social media is just another smokescreen for creeping authoritarianism. While the authoritarian Labor Left loves to posture about ‘safety,’ they consistently fail to address the root causes of these problems - like their own woke policies that undermine parental authority and moral values.
I agree we take steps to protect our children from the toxic cesspool of social media, which warps young minds with woke rainbow-coloured propaganda and hypersexualization. Sure, If this ban empowers parents to deny kids access to these platforms because it's technically illegal, that’s a win - but let’s not pretend Albanese and his elite pals are doing this for noble reasons. They’ll use any excuse to monitor and control us, and we need to stay vigilant against their schemes while reclaiming our right to raise strong, healthy families.

It is a vital discussion long overdue, to protect supposed responsible adults of the future generation. Do parents want on-line grooming, naked video distribution etc. There are already laws in force to prosecute the perps. I reckon at least one case a day now being disclosed in my place.. not just with minors also ex-class mates perping late teens. where to start... throw out the 'woke' acceptance and introduce a new legal awake society?

so, i decided to look into finding some facts or studies that back up the basis of this - that social media is hurting children.
it turns out that there is no data to back it up. every study actually shows the opposite.
social media has been used to influence adults into thinking that social media is hurting the mental well being and stunts development of children. but it doesn't. children with problems have the same incidence of problems regardless of social media.
so, social media hurting children is just misinformation parroted by adults who accept what someone says on without any verification.
it also turns out that children are better than adults at discerning if something is true or not. they research more than dumb parents.
my own biases told me that this had to be true. not so anymore.
if you have a valid scientific study showing it to be true, i'd like to see it.
