Morrison is a low life and this is just another nail in his coffin.
Alex
He always acts as if he is the only honest one and everyone else is the liar .
Asakaze
An honest question: why the young guys on the photo have medals like World War II veterans?

Politician lies about lying. In other news, woman has baby.

November 11, Remembrance (Armistice) Day, hence the poppies and grandparents'/ great grandparents' medals from WW1.

He lied to the public by saying "It's not going to be compulsory to have the vaccine," Now, those who don't take it are shut out of jobs and public life. He stood by and let the states do the dirty work for him. Aussies should revolt.

@funkymofo
Thanks for the explanation.

Well he’s a Polly (politician), they have a reputation. Don’t know specifics with the French deal, that’s for Morrison and Macron to sort out.
@Asakaze, as previously mentioned yesterday was Remembrance Day, if you ever see people wearing medals only on their right side (as opposed to the left which is where the recipient wears them) they are most likely a relative’s and worn in recognition of their prior service.

@AustPaul
Thank you. Did not know about that.
wtfjapan
you might not like Morrison but the nuke sub deal is far superior to the French diesel electric,
the diesel electric sub contract was proposed about 10yrs ago contract signed 6 years ago, what have the French delivered!? absolutely nothing, havent even started the 1st sub. Wouldnt matter which PM was in charge going nuke will be makes Australia naval military far stronger than it currently is, and they wont even have nuke missiles onboard. imagine leaving a dock in Australia traveling for 3 months underwater going almost anywhere undetected and surfacing again once youve returned to Australian waters. NO diesel electric sub can do that without refueling, if foreign military take out your refueling ships then they've effectively taken out your subs
Pukey2
That was another lie.

Scumbag of a man. Yet the greedy boomers will probably see him re-elected.
Peter Neil
I didn't know boomers were greedy.
I thought they were just smarter and better looking than Millennials and GEN X/Z/whatever combined.
Pukey2
reckless:
What's that got to do with anything. You're still going to yet end up with another lying leader. Just swapping one for another.
Eustace
@BigYen, to be fair, I should replace "greedy boomers" with "greedy *unts". Scummo was only elected because of a scare campaign against Labor taking away franking credits, negative gearing, etc. It's a blight on Australia that he is in power.
Peter14
All politicians fib. It is part of the job description. Morrison fibbed about not telling fibs. Shows he is on the job.
TrevorPeace
@Peter Neil, thank you. I'm a boomer, born in 1954, and I'm certainly NOT greedy. And, okay, I'll go with the smarter and better looking comment, too. What a beautiful day!!

I thought Japan had the worst Prime ministers with the biggest turn over rate, but now I reckon Australia has proven to be the worst, they change Prime Ministers like no tomorrow!
gakinotsukai
FYI frenchs also build nuclear subs ...
So it has never been a technological problem only political/diplomatic one.
Now let's have a look at US recent navy successes :
Virginia-class submarinesAccording to Bloomberg, more than 1,600 parts had to be swapped among the Navy’s Virginia-class submarines since 2013 just to keep them operational. Many of these components were meant to be good for 33 years — but started wearing out decades early.
USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000)Nearly $8 billions, 5 years delay, project abandonned
So Australian will not have submarine firepower for more years now until the US subs are delivered (much later). Facing a growing chinese firepower ...
Choosing nuke and loosing NZ support ...
No need to say the cancellation of the french deal will not be free.
What a smart move !
See you in 2050.

FYI frenchs also build nuclear subs ...
the French were never going to supply Australia with nuke subs, they couldnt even provide diesel electric.
Choosing nuke and loosing NZ support ...
lol why, NZ wont allow nuke powered vessels into their ports, and why would they need too, nuke vessels are allowed into Australian ports and can resupply there and they have and still do, nuke vessels dont need refueling, nuke subs can effective circumnavigate the world underwater. half million NewZealanders live and work in Australia, why would nuke subs hurt that relationship. its like saying Canadians wont like AMericans or have anything to do with them because theyve got nuke subs

Japan 100 PMs since 1885, average 1.36yrs per PM
Australia 30PMs since 1901, average 4yrs per PM
yeah not even close is it.
Eustace
The last 20 years of Australian elections have been voters thinking "well at least the next PM can't possibly be as bad as the one we have now", and the new PM saying "... hold my beer".
Peter Neil
There is a long-standing simple and verified test to determine if a politician is lying - their lips are moving.
kaimycahl
I never heard of a POLITICIAN that doesn't lie. Its a prerequisite for part of the job!!
Wolfpack
Macron is still whining and complaining! Time to move on already.

@ gakinotsukai, the French had a fire on one of their nuclear subs, the Perle, in January 2020. The forward part of the hull was weakened enough by the heat of the fire the French decided to remove the forward third or so of Perle, and replace it with the forward part of a decommissioned sister ship Saphir. That work was recently completed and now the French are going to complete the original refit that was interrupted by the fire.
The Charles de Gaull had major problems with radiation that limited power setting they could use until a refit added more shielding, and the original propellers caused a huge vibration in the hull. On a temporary basis the C-d-G was fitted with props taken from a decommissioned French carrier (Foch or Clemenceau, can't remember which) imposing yet more speed restriction until new props of a revised design could be fitted.
Every navy has such problems. Look at the propulsion problems on the RNs new Type 45 DDGs. What caused the USN to abandon the Zumwalt class was the realization that banging away at the shore with a gun in support of ground forces is not survivable in an age of cruise missiles with ranges beyond 1000 km. The Navy and Marine Corps have had to completely rethink how to project power ashore from the sea and that has made the Zumwalts obsolete. That design might come back, however, as an air defense cruiser.
