Typically boorish Australian behaviour. A nation founded in 1788 when Britain dumped a load of chavs in the sun.

What a classic. At least he was patriotic and had a flag and didnt burn it like some of our more recent arrivals....
Ben_Jackinoff
The moon comes cheap in Australia.
Virtuoso
Wonder if he's brave (or foolhardy) enough to try to pull a stunt like that in Thailand, where offending the monarch can result in doing hard time.
LoveNot
And how is a person to fight against the Monarchy? This was his way.
Gurukun
LOL! Classic!
Since the article mentions the age of the Royal couple, I wonder if she enjoyed seeing some fresh young booty for once.
LoveNot
i wonder if it was worth seeing it. yuck
Ben_Jackinoff
Virtuoso,
The man is Australian. Why would he ever do it in Thailand?
anglootaku
lol

Have you ever tried clenching your buttocks while running, bare or not? The man deserves a medal, or at least a new sport named after him.
nath
Gurukun. Maybe he was in his 80's....
combinibento
Interesting story... I'd always thought the the USA flag was planted in the moon, not the Aussie one.
Maitake
I commend this man's actions and hope the "royalty" saw the full moon.
Gurukun
JapanGal, more LOL! That was sick......but hilarious at the same time.

Mooning is a specific act, and this is not it. I suggest this act be named after its creator, Mr. Warriner.
warriner
(verb, intransitive) to warriner, warrinering, warriners
the act of exposing the buttocks, clenching an object between them (esp. a flag) and running in such a posture.: Streaking is funny, but warrinering is hilarious!(verb, transitive)
to warriner to get the attention or insult a specific group or person.: Thinking that flipping the bird was not protest enough, Barman warrinered the Queen.wanderlust
Another "annus horribilis" for Queen Elizabeth?
NeoJamal
Why, this Australian was saluting his sovereign (who lives on the other side of the planet for most of the year) in his own idiom. The man should've never been called up to the Magistrate's Court in the first place.
philsandoz
wanderlust, Surely that's "anus horribilus"
DentShop
Imagine if he had done it in London - it may have caused a riot! Again!

"Have you ever tried clenching your buttocks while running, bare or not?"
I wonder if it was really clenched. And not inserted.
gelendestrasse
I bet he wouldn't do it in Singapore!
Cos
Oh that's "mooning" ?I had read MOURNING and yep, that would have been a bit rude.
Exactly. He did the right thing. Before the Brits went to tell them how to live, that was a normal style for all Australians. If Elizabeth Battenberg and her entourage had shown minimal politeness and respect, they would have done their visit in the traditional suit, wearing body paint.
That might have been more appreciated.

Never knew there's verb use for the word moon, so I had to look it up, then had to imagine and figure out the act. But isdoesn't it have to be in plural, I mean, "to moons"... I still find it hard.. is it like moon = shining, buttock = shiny or what?!

Anyway, this guy just did a form of non-violent protest. I got to hand it to him though, flag-clenching mooning the queen. This guy has balls!
I mean guts! I didn't see any picture or video of what he did.
