The police are even kicking people in the head to get their job done-not really overkill eh?

These death threats have been inspired by Australia's own Federal Government. That is deplorable. Queensland has more open borders than many other Australian states. Mathias Cormann who helped inspire the threats comes from a state with NO open borders.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Chief Health Officer Doctor Jeannette Young’s policies have the tick of approval from health experts both in Australia and overseas.

On the other hand the Federal government is responsible for over 75% of Australia's corona virus deaths and their policies in those areas are the subject of a Royal Commission of enquiry. They should get their own house in order before making irresponsible comments.

Whether people consider these restrictions heartless or consider the state leader heartless are irrelevant. The spread of this virus must be contained regardless of the sacrifices. Only after it has been contained can life return to some sort of normality. I’m quite sure all these radicals protesting and making death threats would feel much different if they OT one of their family members were in an ICU on a respirator fighting for their lives. They seem to have difficulty understanding that, the more they breech the restrictions the longer it will take for them to be lifted.

Any sensible person would let children see a dying father.

Not necessarily. To do that or waive the rules to attend a funeral that can't be rescheduled to accommodate the quarantine period means that numerous people are needlessly exposed in highest risk scenarios--closed indoor spaces. Many of those are the frontline workers caring for those who are hospitalized. Then there are all the restaurants and hotels and family homes visited by out of state visitors which are higher risk environments.

I wish our provincial governments had been stricter about it and required all visitors entering the provinces to quarantine. It would cut down on any unnecessary travel--particularly Americans who are permitted to travel through parts of Canada in order to get to Alaska. Too many of them have used this exception to vacation in parts of Alberta and British Columbia. I would have preferred that they be escorted to a military facility and kept there until cleared and monitored with chip devices until they have crossed into Alaska and the same on their return. It would encourage them to fly on their own airlines.

Frankly, though quarantine is a nuisance and a burden (I experienced it when I returned to Canada from Japan in April), if it mitigates the risks for others I can live with it. People would do well to cultivate a Buddha mind: If your mind is level the whole world is level. That holds true even when your little entitled world tilts.

it looks like some Aussies are just as stupid as many Americans have proven to be this year.

Australia can often be like little America. There are many very conservative right-wingers there, and their current government is quite authoritarian at times.

Somebody is trying to tell the truth about a dire situation and she gets death threats from a bunch of thugs and clods who never matured and don't have the sense to shut up and listen to reason. Springtime is approaching in Down Under and this is the time to really take precautions but it looks like some Aussies are just as stupid as many Americans have proven to be this year.

And you shouldn't resort to death threats over health measures. Lives are more valuable than the Almighty Dollar - US or Australian.

Mrs Tom Hanks survived covid and she took a drug that provided no assistance in that. The science is heavily against taking that substance to try to cure covid because it has shown in tests that it does not work.

It probably had no effect one way or the other on his recovery.

People have lost their jobs, been confined to their homes and are forbidden from even visiting dying family members.

Is it any wonder people are angry and lashing out.

Most people are not lashing out. Only the stupid ones who have never grown up are lashing out. Most of understand the gravity of the situation and do the right things to help prevent the virus spread. Some things really are bigger than your narrow little wants.

I dont know, her white liberal celebrity privilege allowed her to take a drug that saved her life. yet then turn around and make false claims about it

False claims? Wow.

It sounds like you’re sitting on a hotbed of information.

Like I said, you’d better call the FDA or even better yet your media outlet of choice. You could blow the lid off this thing!

Is her position an elected one? Or was she appointed by Palaszczuk? Then the populace should direct their anger towards the one who appointed her. But perhaps the QLD population are cool with their choices, and the outrage is only coming from folks in Canberra, NSW, Gold Coast and other locations who never had a say in electing the rulers who would prevent them from seeing a stricken relative or the funeral of a parent.

I dont know, her white liberal celebrity privilege allowed her to take a drug that saved her life. yet then turn around and make false claims about it which later supported everyone else to be blocked from taking what saved her life. She isnt the only one and there would be more IF it doctors were allowed to prescribe it.

You know Tom took it too, he is just liberal to admit it.

Tom Hanks supposedly already had it and his wife admits taking chloroquine to get better while complaining about the "side effects" of not dying.

they are fine. white privilege and all.

Fake news.

Yes she too Hydroxy, and ‘admits’ it freely.

The side effects of not dying? She’s part of the cover up? Blimey, this hole runs deep eh.

How many people who didn’t take the trump miracle drug recovered? Or is Tom Hanks’ wife your complete case study?

You’d better call the FDA right away.

Chief Health Officer or The Crypt Keeper? You decide.

If you don't like death threats I suggest making special arrangements for people who have family members dying, especially if you are going to make exceptions for foreign actors to make films they could make next year...or in a different country.

Humanity is so used to being the dominant force on the planet that when a disaster happens it is shrugged of as "someone else's problem" It is local to someone else so my life goes on without disruption.

Now that a planet wide, species wide disaster happens those people struggle because it actually effects them and not just someone else. Oh the inhumanity of lock downs for the good of all. It is not supposed to stop ME from doing as I like. Sorry but this is on everyone like it or not. We need leaders that can make the tough calls, the right calls and stand up to the silent and sometimes violent minority who for the life of them cant understand the need if they perceive that they "might" be ok even if they catch the virus.

Any lack of ability to understand or see the need to protect the vulnerable is their problem, and in a way society's. They need to be better educated to understand.

A soldier does the right thing by the unit, rather than run away to attempt to save themselves. They follow orders to improve their chances to achieve their goal and to all survive. Deniers need that type of education to understand doing what is right for the whole community means following directives that are issued precisely for that purpose. Threatening one of your commanders because you disagree with them would lead to courts martial and in time of war, possibly execution.

This might not seem like it but there is a world war against a virus that has effected all nations. We will win it when we all pull in the same direction.

Playing the victim card.... how does she feel for putting the population under house arrest and sending the cops to break down the doors of wrong-thinkers? Pure hypocrisy.

Laughable comment. Since when have Queenslanders been under "house arrest" or any hard lockdown? Please do a little more research before throwing wild misinformation around.

The same type of people attack medical experts - as seen with Fauci also - but fail to do any basic reading on the issues. Thankfully the majority of us take the experts advice.

This is what happens when freedoms disappear suddenly-no surprises from me about that...

Doing a job should not involve death threats, it's her job. Way way too many nutters, Suprisingly she has experts advising her, and it's her decision that's what she is paid for that's her job. Stressed already without death threats.

It has taken an enormous toll on me, but then this has taken an enormous toll on nearly every single person in our community,”

And all your fault. No wonder people are angry with her.

These days "death threats" are the norm for any disaffected idiot.  The joys of social media anonymity.
