The australian immigration policy was highly benefited from 'importing' immigrants who has corruptions and organised crimes background, for them there was nothing known as 'morale standard' but money! And now they were blaming asian immigrants or countries was definately hypocritic and politically motivated. For the political purpose to appease the jealous asian immigrant sentiments, certain measues of 'old policy' has to be implied, the policy of 'white australia'...time back to 1960s or maybe 1950s!

That post is completely unintelligible. I have no idea what justabigguy is trying to say. I guess he loves Australia and wants to move there.

Clearly it doesn't help you post on the thread if he does or does not think so. I agree, though, that it's unclear what he intends to say with his message, although it seems to be racially motivated. One thing is pretty sure, though... unlike the J-government who merely takes a consensus number of its gangsters and says 'shouganai' when it comes to action against them, the Australians will probably act.

Crime in australia is deeply rooted well before the influx of asian syndicates during the 80s and 90s, being as how aussie was built on criminals is it any wonder they have a international crime problem.

Says the little brother NZ. For a nation that has more sheep than people, you ought to know better than calling on history as a determining factor for people who choose the present. If this is happening as it is in Australia, it means it's happening in NZ as well, or that if it's not it's just that NZ isn't quite as modern as its neighbour. Point is they are trying to deal with a problem that should have been stamped out long ago, which is a good thing (and more than the NZ government is doing!).

yeah rather than applauding the Australian police for uncovering an extensive criminal network that has used politicians and police to import drugs, weapons and prostitutes etc let's just have an anti-Australian whinge. How grown-up. Just-a-big-guy ..if the shoe fits, as they say. They recently busted an Iranian drug ring too...It can't be helped if the people importing the drugs are from a particular ethnic background. Those just happen to be the facts in this case.It is now easier than ever for Chinese especially to use their wealth to buy Australian citizenship. It is hardly a return to a white-Australia policy...it does however allow for some of these high rollers to move in and set up shop though.

Glad to hear Australia weeded out a scheme in their territory, unfortnately a lot of the organized crime has gone pretty global to the poin they even work with other organizations to get their ill gained blood money. The mafioso working with triads, russian mafia, and yaks and every other criminal network that can push the goods and bring the money. Sad when it leads up to the point where there are corrupt politicians.

Hmm really? So the fact that the initial people in Australia means that Australia is more susceptible to crime hey? What a load of rubbish. Major organized crime is more likely to bean issue in Australia not because of its history but more likely because of the diversity of the population. But hey whatever you reckon right?

Cletus - well said!

The triads have been involved in organised crime in Aust for a long time, just as the Italian Mafia and any other organised crime group in the world.

Some of you really shouldn't post comments.
