A sad day for women, real women. Although it is only an online app, groups should be able to freely decide who joins.

It is no longer a “Safe Space” if this is now the “Legal Precedent”

Wait a minute.... Just had to check that today was not April 1st..

Roxanne Tickle wins a lawsuit against Giggle for girls?

I've changed my mind. They should welcome Ms Tickle but Roxanne sounds too much like a porn star.

Roxanne Tickle wins a lawsuit against Giggle for girls?

Yep. Tickle v Giggle for Girls Pty Ltd. Or, Tickle v Giggle.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

oh, boo hoo.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Giggle for Girls was marketed as a "safe space" for women to discuss and share their experiences and had some 20,000 users in 2021, court filings show. It suspended operations in 2022 but is due to be relaunched soon, according to Grover.

When they relaunch, they set it up so that individual users can choose who can or can't view their comments, and whose comments they can view.

This nonsense needs to stop, daft blokes pretending to be women and making real women scared of having a pop at them for fear of being called terms and anti trans.

Make a trans group and leave the women alone where they can feel safe.

Trans people deserve the same respect as every other human being, but with that said, this particular trans person did not HAVE to be on this website. That she took the fight this far AND expected an apology makes it seem to me that the only reason she was even trying to get on this particular website in the first place was to FORCE (aka harass) these women into acknowledging her and interacting with her. Which sounds like the exact kind of male behavior the website sought to eliminate by making it “women” only.

To the owner of the website, I can think of one way for you to win this case. Make it a website for CISgender women only. Then you will have your way.

Bromwich said Giggle for Girls considered only sex at birth as being a valid basis on which a person may claim to be a man or woman. Tickle was of male sex at the time of birth but underwent gender-affirming surgery and Tickle's birth certificate was updated, he said.

Seems clear the basis is sex, not gender.

How do they update the birth certificate?

Does it say tickle is female now?

Surely there must be an app for transgender people? She'd find much more in common with people using such an app.

Verdict seems to be based only on looks as basis of deciding someone is a woman

It is not lawful to make decisions about whether a person is a woman based on how feminine they appear," Gerber said.

Meaning any man can make an account and giggle can't invalidate it based on picture alone, they need to base it on some legal document

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Just looking at the photo you can see the chap is a bloke with quite broad shoulders, of course women would be intimidated by him and wonder what are his motives for being there. Why is it ok to make women feel unsafe?

Do,you think,people should not,pretend to be something,they are not?

3 ( +7 / -4 )

This is only the first step by people that have problems.

They are not happy in life and want to project their misery on others.

We will be seeing more of these lawsuits, in Australia and other countries.

In Canada a transgender tried (has done this on multiple occasions) to force female ethnics place that do hair removal only on and are only trained to do female genital regions, and basically wanting to force women to remove hair from male genitals, then again wanting to force an all nude female spa to accept his/her male genitals. At the moment the provincial human rights board rejected the case and this only because it would violate the female worker's right not to have to deal with male genitals which they are not trained for.

But this hasn't stopped these people, lawsuits are being planned and appeals to the federal courts.

Next in Australia and other countries are the plans to go after other Apps and directly the App users.

The Trans community and their supporters are now claiming that refusing or outright rejecting the idea of dating a transgender is discrimination, and are looking at going after apps like Tinder and other dating apps or more directly users of these apps that refuse to date transgenders.

This is not a joke, they are serious, they want to force people to date transgenders.

This is how radical this group has because.

My niece's lesbian friend was told she was "transphobic" for walking out of a date after finding out the person she was on a date with was a biological male and had male lower genitals.

After that she was harassed at university by the Trans groups on campus and online.

Welcome to the new world, where your rights no longer exist and the fringe will dictate what you can do and who you must date.

Postmodernism is the view that objective reality exists. This Australian court ruling is a willful disregard for reality and the rule of law. No one benefits from this, even Mr. Tickle, because a court that can arbitrarily ignore reality can just as arbitrarily ignore human rights.

Yes, if they put people in fear, how about you?

Not just if they put people in fear.

I just think your advice about pretending to be something you are not is good advice for everyone.

They come across as weird and not to be trusted.

I’m sure you’d agree. Far weirder than the people they are told to dislike.

Sorry. I need to correct my previous post.

This Australian court ruling is a willful disregard for reality and the rule of law.

No, the ruling was made directly under the rule of law in Australia, by a judge, who is literally the person who determines whether something has broken the rule or law. They are the source of truth, the definition.

The puritans are very angry that their beliefs are actually not in line with the rule of law, because they want to look down on people, but this time, their beliefs are against the rule of law. It makes them look really bad.

It sure does, you guys are really weird being so hung up on people's genitals

Someone in the past linked to some creepy grifter called Matt Walsh who hosts a trash podcast for unpopular teenagers.

Weird people watching this. I think they are regurgitating some of that.

Creepy. I wouldn’t allow them in any toilet.

Puritans ignore the reality that trans people are real, have always been with us, and always will be. Wishing it away really hard isn't reality.

What the article failed to mention and it seems the judge failed to take into account is that the App was designed for women real women to talk about female issues that most do not affect transgender or males.

Menstruation, menopause, pregnancy, etc...and the insane idea a man calling himself a woman has any insight or knowledge of these things is like me telling my sister what she is going through in her menopause or her telling me what my andropause is like.

A fake menstrual pad to "give the sensation" of having their period (and yes believe it or not such a crazy thing does exist) in no way gives a biological male any actual knowledge of what real women goes through.

When a man tries telling women about women issues it is called Mansplaining, but now this decision by the courts basically says if a man calls himself a woman he can now Mansplain all he wants.

The fact these transgenders don't understand why they are not included in conversation regarding real women's issues especially those related to their biology tells use a great deal about their mental capacity to think rationally and their self-centered views.

They do sound a bit desperate.

If only these podcast hosts could stop winding them up.

I suppose they see an easy audience.

Cruel, but that’s business.

I suppose they see an easy audience.

It makes them feel like they have value to their team when they bully people who already face enough challenges in life.

I wonder whose character that says more about...

Ok answer a few simple questions.

Should a female be forced to be confronted by male genitals as many transgender demand, in locker rooms, female only genital hair removal, etc..?

Is it ok to force these females to work on and with males genitals against their will?

This is not hypothetical is is an ongoing legal issue in many countries now.

Does a transgender that does not and will never be subjected to the biological issues of the sex they were not born as have the knowledge or even the right to tell or put in their view on subjects that affect the biological sex they are not?

Example: does a transgender women have any knowledge of what a biological women goes through during menstruation or menopause or a transgender man have any knowledge of what a biological man goes through with erectile dysfunction and andropause?

One of the primary reasons for this App was a safe place for biological women to talk about problems that affect only biological women.

Why would this person even want to be on the App, they have zero experience in menstrual problems zero in menopause and zero in issues related to pregnancy, female organs and diseases that effect only female organs.

So why did this person want to get on this app? Just to make himself feel better? To try and validate the delusion he is a woman?

No one is saying that we should discriminate against transgenders.

But to then they try and force others to accept a false reality to force invade other's privacy, by forcing women to view male genitals, to touch and remove hair from male genitals against the will of the women, to force them to share their personal biological struggles and issues with a biological man that could never understand isn't that another situation where men are again violating women?

(and yes notice it is nearly always the women spaces that are under attack)

Puritans ignore the reality that trans people are real, have always been with us, and always will be. Wishing it away really hard isn't reality.

Correct wishing something doesn't make it real.

These transgenders women will never know what it is like to go through female puberty, monthly menstruation, the fear of uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, menopause, etc... which was a larger part of what this App was for, a safe place for women to share their experience with these female only issues.

Why does this biological male even want to be included in these conversations which he/she has no experience with and never will have?

This has nothing to do with "puritans" in all probability 99% of the women on this App are liberal thinkers, the type that can openly discuss sex and biological issues between themselves something "puritans" generally don't or can't.

Whenever a woman tries to say they don't want a biological male in their locker room, in their toilets, in their spas, on an app designed for biological female issues, the transgender and supporters try and falsely claim the red hearing of "puritans" etc...

The question is simple does a transgender women know what it is like to go through female puberty, menopause, pregnancy, etc...? No.

So why do they want to incert themselves into these conversations?

Nice straw man. Sure, there are some conversations that won't apply to everyone in the chat, and at those times, certain people won't participate.

Why does this biological male even want to be included in these conversations which he/she has no experience with and never will have?

Gender is a social construct and this is a social app, so biology has little to do with it.
