A large organisation lacking social responsibility like this is disgraceful

A large organization lacking social responsibility like this is normal. There, I fixed it for you. Honesty in management at corporations is almost always punished, and the larger the corporation the greater the dishonesty. Lower level workers scraping by from paycheck to paycheck are too afraid to say anything for fear of losing their job altogether.

capitalism at its "best"...

Petty theft from desperation and drug war offenses are often handled with heavy penalties and lethal force.

While wage theft is orders of magnitude larger. Along with white-collar financial crimes.

The hammer of law enforcement always disproportionately falls on those with the least economic power, regardless of the severity of the crime.

Workers need to stand up, workers pay tax and are treated like this?

Workers need to stand up, workers pay tax and are treated like this? Try doing that to a politician. Treason would probably be the charge. Japan is the lowest in wage, lowest in life /work/ productivity of any 1st world economy. I know the story is about Australia and it’s news because they have a free press. But it’s a Japanese news site so you have to link it back home. You can’t underpay workers, that’s not right.
