If you know stats and odds, no one actually ever has to win. It can go on forever.

But on that note: "Man hacked random-number generator to rig lotteries, investigators say - New evidence shows lottery machines were rigged to produce predictable jackpot numbers on specific days of the year netting millions in winnings"

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/apr/08/man-hacked-random-number-generator-rig-lotteries-investigators-say

Eddie Tipton was a former security officer and one of the few people with access to the computer room for the multistate Hot Lotto game. Tipton was accused of rigging the lottery by using a “root kit” — a program inserted into the code of the computer that generates the random winning numbers. The root kit picked the winning numbers and then deleted itself — making it untraceable.

The number generator had apparently been hacked to produce predictable numbers on three days of the year, after the machine had gone through a security audit.

Prosecutors say they discovered unauthorized codes on the computer in Wisconsin during drawings that fell on certain dates and times. The codes directed the computer not to randomly generate numbers, but instead to use an algorithm whose results could be predicted.

His code would let him narrow the drawing’s winning odds from 5 million to 1, to 200 to 1.

And, over time, it would allow him to hijack at least five winning drawings totaling more than $24 million in prizes in Colorado, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas and Oklahoma — the biggest lottery scam in U.S. history.

Basically, on certain 3 days every year, ya only have to buy 200 tickets to get all 200 possible winning combinations, and then ya win! Lol
