This is a direct result if Trump's incompetence coupled with his narcissism and ignorance.
bass4funk
Then i would call it a good thing, rather than making a bad deal.
Laguna
Trump himself might not be in imminent danger, but the same cannot be said for Jr. But than, Jr. would not be the first close associate Trump's thrown under the bus.
Ah_so
He doesn’t seem to be very good at making good deals either.

testimony from his former lawyer Michael Cohen
That dud?
Blacklabel
i think every article just exists as a way to say Cohen, Russia or Mueller over and over. No new information just same thing every day.
Strangerland
So should they be suppressing this news? What exactly are the rules of suppression?
Blacklabel
It’s not news. What’s new about it?
Blacklabel
Rules of suppression? Anything that isn’t anti Trump.
Strangerland
You think all articles that are not anti-trump should be suppressed? You’re all over the place.
Blacklabel
Everything is Mueller this Russia that, a cloud or some wind of some kind is usually involved too.
Can’t just correctly say he walked away from a bad deal. It’s against the narrative.
Toasted Heretic
Sycophants.
He highlighted just how badly he is when it comes to prep, comprehension and politics of the area.
And his comments about believing Kim when it comes to Warmbier will not be forgotten, just like his defence of the murderous MBS and Putin's spies and nerve agent use in the UK.
This man is no friend to the "free world", it's just a big vanity project for him. Ratings, ratings, ratings.
Blacklabel
Yet he is one of only 40 sonething people to have ever been President of the strongest nation in the earth. That’s not bad karma in the least.

Except the uncertain outcome of the trade war, things appear to be not going right for Trump.
If Trump really listened to Mike Pompeo's warning about the fact that Kim Jong un isn't negotiating for peace and that he's buying time, Trump should never attend the summit. It was Kim who ultimately got a free ride: He achieved a world leader status and that Trump cannot eliminate him, as he and his regime have been working toward a political solution of the Korean Peninsula issue. The way Trump really believed that he would have a deal with Kim showing he is either naive or over confident with his "art of the deal."
This latest incidence proved that Rex Tillerson's judgment was right when calling Trump a "moron."
SuperLib
Well when we send in a master negotiator we expect more than just a bad deal as the result. It's his unique talent that's supposed to get us a winning deal, but Trump doesn't have the skills for it.
Yesterday Fox had a headline that Ocasio-Cortez, who says people should eat less meat, was seen having lunch with someone who was eating a hamburger.
That's not a joke.
CrazyJoe
Trump couldn't negotiate bedtime with a three year old let alone global issues with world leaders.
If Trump was President during the Louisiana and Alaska Purchases we'd all be speaking French and Russian now.
Trump guaranteed us he would not allow North Korea to possess nuclear weapons. Like he guaranteed us Mexico would pay for the southern wall. He makes lots of guarantees that don't happen.

The Art of the Bad Deal.

If Trump is playing 3D chess, why is he spending such a significant amount of time and energy defending himself, instead of getting things done? A good leader avoids such situations.
Maybe he’s playing 3D chess, but he’s actually just really poor at it.

This is interesting -

So now it’ll be back to “... but the southern border....” and Trump’s other distractions from his inside trading, nepotism, etc. Didn’t Trump say Mexico was going to pay for the wall.
lincolnman
That's not karma, that's Putin...
Dimwit Donnie goes to Hanoi and gets his hat handed to him. Kim goes home a hero for standing up to the US President and Donnie goes home with his tail between his legs and zilch. Replay of Summit #1, just worse...
I wonder what kind of a welcome home he'll get from Melania - Cohen testified he lied to her on Donnie's direction about the fling with Stormy - and am sure she recognized the signature on the check...
Hope he left his golf clubs at the club house...

He IS getting things done. He's got you riled up, doesn't he?
PTownsend
“He’s got you riled up...”
‘Troll the libs’, the other most important belief of Cult 45ists, second only to ‘believe everything their political messiah Trump says’. Trump tells his faithful he believes what Kim, Putin, MbS and other despots tell him, and not what the US intelligence agencies say, and the faithful shout amen.
bass4funk
When was the last time you spoke to him and Bolton? A week ago?
Nor should they be. Yes, he should tell a crazy psycho with nukes and a not so long ago hostile attitude towards the US you’re lying. Typical liberal possible suicide logic. I get it, I didn’t like it either, but I really understood why he said that.
What? Oh, that....
Sorry, that would be CNN and msnbc focusing on Cohen a convicted felon and liar, possibly perjured himself again last night that was the focus over Hanoi? Well, FNC beat them in the ratings, so more people turned to watch that over the idiot Cohen.
ZENJI
trump can now say, I HAVE BEEN TO VIETNAM. This will be followed by, I was rapidly promoted from the rank of private(bonespurs) to 4 star general.
In general trump will just tell lots of lies to cover up his feeble abilitys.
MeanRingo
I was there when he landed, everyone gave him a slow clap. It was tremendous.
SuperLib
Of course not. In this situation you appease.

As bass likes to say, BINGO!
Of course not. In this situation you appease.
Psst, Super... it's 4D chess. Appeasement is when you send pallets of cash Obama style.
In general trump will just tell lots of lies to cover up his feeble abilitys.
As feeble as he is Trump probably has the ability to spell abilities correctly.
The conclusion among Trump's inner circle was that the president came out of the week okay, feeling there was not much new in Cohen's testimony
Congress: What dirt have you got on Trump?
Cohen: Orange man bad.
Strangerland
We all know Trump is just doing this for his legacy.
Which if I recall from 'pub comments during the Obama presidency, is the most evil thing a president could ever do. Satan embodied.
Strangerland
So you support appeasement?
Strangerland
Then why is he spending so much time defending himself? A good leader would avoid such a thing so they don't have to waste significant resources always defending themselves. Ask any leader at any company, they will tell you this. So why is Trump so incompetent that he is always under attack?
Strangerland
Throughout this whole NK issue since Trump became president, the Trumpets have been bleating stuff entirely clueless of the game NK has been playing for decades. You can tell from their comments that they think NK walking away from the table was not something to be expected, and that this is something new.
If anyone is playing 3D chess, it's NK. They've been gaming the US and their sanctions in this manner over and over, for decades.
This is why presidents haven't met with the leader of NK and given them legitimacy.
The Trumpets act like Trump met with NK against NKs wishes, like it is some sort of achievement. They are too stupid to see that any president could have met with NK at any time. There was literally zero barrier to this happening if they wished - any of the Kims would have been delighted for a president to come and legitimize them. It was Kim Jong Un's luck that while he was still young and trying to solidify power, a president as stupid as Trump would come in and help him cinch power up tight. Which he has now done.
And the trumpets are so stupid, they think that having Kim be more powerful at home is a good thing.
NK's playing 3D chess. Trumpets are scribbling on the wall with crayons.
mukashiyokatta
Failed summit, failed president. Frankly, it's a disgrace.
