“How is it possible to stop waves of humanity with military force?” Ahmadinejad said.

The crackdown on protesters in Manama's (pop. 163,000) Pearl Sq. gives the regime a breather of sort. It was brutal, and it cleared the demonstrators in the capital. The ongoing arrests of so-called opposition leaders will obviously dent the movement.
You have to be very careful when hinting of a third-force vis-a-vis protests in the Middle East and Nth Africa-- AQ, Israel, the CIA, Iran have all been named, but what seems to be a 'sectarian' uprising may just be a reaction to poverty and unemployment. The official unemployment rate is 15% in Bahrain, and youth unemployment a long-term eco. problem in the country.
