Why they want to held these events in any Muslim countries? That is just plain stupid!

'Pornography' and a 'whore contest'? I bet every self-righteous, woman-hating religious bigot decrying this would privately LOVE to see that, not a line of pretty young women twittering on about peace and children. As a wise men once said, the only people obsessed with eating are the obese or the anorexic.

I happen to be from this country. Not a Muslim myself, but really, most Muslims there are happy-go-lucky, easy-going people. Only the vocal minorities like FPI are the fundamentalists. The average Muslims dislike FPI, this group which mostly based in the Java island, is run by idiotic cavemen who refuses any progress in the country and think that they can dictate the whole country on their tribal values. Sadly, the government has no b4lls, and always give in to their demands.

If they are so unhappy and always have to complain why do Muslim fundamentalists still live there? Surely they must feel a lot happier living in the middle east?

Bali should just gain its independence from the rest of Indonesia, and Indonesia should start doing something about its crazy, Muslim terrorist radicals. They do not like a beauty pageant?? Get a life! Just because your religion does not like something DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE ANY RIGHT TO TELL OTHERS WHAT TO DO! These people want to tell the world what is right and what is wrong, clean up your own corrupt country first!

Bali is mostly peaceful Hindus. Let the show begin.

Wrap them in turbans from the forehead down. Sounds sensible to me. and the mummy in the center is the first runner up..... This muslim stuff is for the birds or turds!

From Indonesian capital Jakarta to cities on Sumatra island and Borneo, thousands have joined protests across the Indonesian archipelago, denouncing Miss World as “pornography” and a “whore contest” and burning effigies of the organizers.

Sounds like Muslims are so peaceful.

But, Bali is not a Muslim nation. I hope we don't see this pageant become a target for the extremists.

Completely stupid. Just asking for some nutjob to go suicide bomber or something.

On the contrary, it's nice to see people not caving in to muslim sensibilities.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Might as well call it the 'Just Asking for Trouble Contest'.

Is there ever anything these nutjobs are happy about, they dont like beauty competitions, they dont like cartoons, they dont like the west, they dont like education. Stone age unintelligent religous fools.

The west does not need their permission to get on with it's way of life.

Muslim religion has different view on female. Maybe they will approve Mr. World Contest? Why Miss World Contest organizers can't find many countries itchy to have contests? Some countries are so eager to have money producing events.

I hate religious fanatics.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

The average Muslims dislike FP....

OK, so why don't they stand up and say so?

You have to wonder if these fanatics have any idea that the rest of the world finds them disgusting.

Indeed gelendestrasse! Where is the voice of the moderate Muslim? Nowhere to be found. They allow themselves and their communities to be dominated by very vocal and violent minority that gives their religion a bad name. Muslim fundamentalist terrorism will never cease until the moderate voices reclaim control of their religion.

It seems they are scared to stand up against the extremists, but by allowing them to perpetrate the violence, they then see an increase in prejudice and violence from non-Muslims in the countries that receive the terrorism.

I don't think it's good idea to held Miss World contest in Muslim country like Indonesia. It's stupid. Why the organizer let the Muslim alone? They do not like Westernized culture and they should respect them.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

A vocal extremist minority does not represent the whole of Islam. Not even when the media prints their views most of the time. I wish many of you would stop letting the press goad you into hate speech against decent people for what a handful of clowns scream on the MSM platform.

That said, I find these pageants indecent as well, but its got nothing to do with the amount of skin shown. In fact, that is the only part I find worth watching!

How dare they prevent us objectifying chicks in the 21st century!!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Once again muslims try to force their beliefs down everyone else's throats. Why can't they learn to tolerate those with different opinions, just as we are expected to tolerate them in our countries? I don't want to be told that I must "respect their sensibilities": I won't. They don't respect mine.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Right Scrote. No other religious people but Muslims ever tried to force their beliefs down everyone else's throats. Perhaps these people will next seek amendments in provincial constitutions to prevent gay marri....I mean to prevent beauty pageants from even being held in Indonesia again.

@ControlFreak

"Seeking an amendment in provincial constitutions" and threatening / using violence are of course morally equivalent aren't they?

roughneck:

" Why they want to held these events in any Muslim countries? That is just plain stupid! "

Indonesia is not a "muslim country". It is a muslim majority country, but the state ideology is not Sharia, it is Pancasila. (Althought the muslim fundis are trying to change that, of coure. And Bali is certainly not a "muslim island", it is an overwhelmingly Hindu island, which is of course the reason it is a such a pleasant tourist destination.

Instead of giving in to muslim supremacists, why not stand up to them?
