Might be a part of the turf war between the Avon Barksdale organization and the Marlo Stanfield gang.

But the BPD own the city.

David Simon can throw more light on it.

So this is mass shotting number what in the US this week?

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Honestly off the top of your head can you remember the last mass shooting?

As sad as it is, a regular occurrence, there will be the heartfelt soul searching, the politics of it all, the press conferences, the tears from the families of the deceased, all will fade into memory until the next mass shooting.

Zoroto,

A mass shooting, also called active shooter incident, as defined by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), an event in which one or more individuals are “actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a populated area. Implicit in this definition is the shooter’s use of a firearm.”

Gangland argy-bargy or otherwise innocent bystanders are a heartbeat away from a coffin.

Just another U.S. city to stay away from like Austin, Philadelphia, Chicago, LA, SF, NY, Seattle, Portland, DC. All run by guess which party?

-10 ( +7 / -17 )

At this point which party runs what city is irrelevant, these problems are everywhere in the US.

Let's just throw more guns at the problem. More militarized police. And more convictions. That'll fix it.

And for all of that and politicians thoughts and prayers for the victims/families they will do nothing to tackle the underlying problem of guns, so it’s all just crocodile tears and cynical vote seeking,.

Yes to all three, provided the guns are legal and the owners trained in firearms.

More convictions is an obvious deterrent but the bleding hearts will cry "racism" because the overwhelming percentage of offenders are from the protected class.

But that WILL fix it.

If it keeps you away then at least something good has come from it.

Black people have as much right to bear arms as anyone else. You can’t have it both ways. Second amendment says nothing about color or criminality. It’s a broken mess and you’ll just have to live with it. Or avoid the US.

When the next non-urban mass shooting happens should we stay away from all countrysides too? Columbine, Sandy Hook, Charleston, Stoneman-Douglas, Oklahoma City.. oh, that wasn't a mass shooting. My bad. It was just the worst case of domestic terror ever on U.S. soil. Any comments on those? Wrong party affiliation maybe. Skin color not right either. Narratives. Narratives.

Price of guns.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Give more guns. If somebody shoots you or your friends, the constitution says you have the right to kill them, their friends and family, also, unfortunately some random bystanders. This is the world role model.

just another day in paradise.

Obvious from the comments those who have spent their whole lives in a safe suburban cul-de-sac.

Before get some sleep...I am not sure this is a update....

Nine people were transported from the scene to hospitals and 20 people walked into hospitals in the area. Three of the injured are in critical condition, according to a police statement.

They have a strange understanding of block parties. When we were younger, we played music, danced , and coupled with the girls, no guns or knives, in worst case a bit wrestling or boxing when a few had too many drinks.

US Shootings could happen in EVERY city or stare, no matter the politics, I guess you don't complain about Texas shootings..

Please get real, and grow up..

Living in the US. It's crazy town, 24/7. Fortunately, I live in a very safe college town. But a 45 minute drive to the west and I'm in a city where I don't feel safe, there are regular shootings, robberies and murders. In my town, they have the flag at half staff whenever there is a mass shooting, they might as well just leave it there permanently. I'm going to retire soon, and I want out. I want to live my remaining years in peace. I don't see anything in the US changing for the better in my lifetime. It's very sad.

, there will be the heartfelt soul searching,

No there wont! No one is going to do anything of the sort, not in reality. If they DID, they would come to a conclusion and stand up and do something about it. They wont,

American must accept the fact that it is one of THE most violent cultures and societies on planet earth. Let that sink in, particularly with "Independence Day" coming tomorrow.

Nothing will ever change! Just get used to it America! Someday the entire country will be like Gotham!

This sarcasm here is rather inappropriate dont ya think? Because no one can actually believe this.

Sad, but it’s Baltimore, it’s on par with the violence of Chicago. Again, the liberal policies make it so toxic and dangerous it’s a powder keg and the sad thing is, nothing will change as long as they vote for the same nutty policies.

When it comes to gun violence, the US is broken and no one wants to fix it. More will die.

Mancuso said about 2,800 officers are needed to effectively police the city, but staffing is down to about 2,100.

Well, there you go, when you defund the police this is exactly what happens. What were these liberals thinking? Anyone with a brain could see what would happen.

That is 3 year article about a ‘proposed’ $22m budget cut. The following year it was scrapped and Baltimore police spending actually increased by $28m and increased again the year after that.

Anyone with a brain could see what would happen.

I told you what did happen. Now it’s crickets as usual.

It doesn't matter that it is inner city gangs (if as it seems, that is what this is). The Race and economic demographic doesn't matter. The problem is guns and easy access to them legally or otherwise.

Some posters here seem to discount the lives lost then they are inner city minorities and that is not only immoral and a little bit racist, gives the impression that gun crime is ok when it happens to people who "deserve" it.
