WikiLeaks says it’s preparing a release of information on banks, which could include documents it says it has on Bank of America. WikiLeaks responded to Bank of America’s announcement with a Twitter message urging supporters to stop doing business with the bank. “We ask that all people who love freedom close out their accounts at Bank of America,” WikiLeaks said in its posting Saturday. It also called on businesses to switch funds from the bank.

The Wikileaks crowd seem to be trying to use all the tactics it claims to stand against. Hypocrites showing their colors.

“There is a threat to my life. There is a threat to my staff. There are significant risks facing us,” he said, without offering details of the purported threats. In an interview with CNBC on Friday, Assange said his organization plans to soon release information about banks, and he told Forbes magazine last month that the data would show “unethical practices.”

Well when you claim that you are directing a dangerous human rights project that involve white collar crime, political activism and intelligence agencies and threaten banks to release information on their business I guess you have to take the bad with the good.

“We ask that all people who love freedom close out their accounts at Bank of America,”

Anybody who has an account at Bank of America is in effect bankrolling criminal activity.

An economic system where banks are not held accountable for losses they incur is not capitalism. It is organized crime. Each day that people pretend their problems are caused by some hyped-up, imaginary "liberal" vs. "conservative" battle and not the corruption and intentional destruction of the economic system is just another day closer to the end.

So Wikileaks will continue its emberrorist activities. What new truths shall they reveal? Perhaps that banks secretly like money?

Assange is a predator. It is reasonable to assume half of the bank's customers are women. Maybe the pressure from women's groups forced this.

Assange is a predator.

This a bit like trying to explain what KFC stands for to a chicken with Stockholm Syndrome, but here goes.

In 2008, when the US financial system went belly up, the US government had two choices. One, let the people who lost the money lose the money. But that ran into the "too big to fail problem". Two, save the banks and dump all the debt and losses on the country. They chose number two. But this leads to the "too big to save" problem. To avoid the short term pain, and save the "rich" financiers who just happen by coincidence to control and bankroll every US politician except Bernie Sanders and Ron Paul, they tried to keep all the plates spinning. The probable outcome of that choice is a long-term collapse in the standard of living, and a long term collapse in the US dollar, both in the exchange rate and purchasing power.

What every American with his brain plugged in should be hoping is that the WikiLeaks banking leaks will have something, anything that forces the government to change course. What people in every other country should be hoping is that the leaks will force their governments to change course too. As a Canadian, I can already hear PM Barney Rubble's "everybody must share in the sacrifice" speech coming.

This will be a battle between the hackers and the financial terrorists since the politicians and gov are too weak to do anything. No wonder the populace is buying gold and silver with all this fiat drama. Hackers won the CO2 battle so I must assume they will win this battle also. Hackers 2 - Globalists 0

why are some people crying for this guy? A company has every right to do business with who they want to and don't want to. He should have known his gig wasn't going to go over lightly.

BTW, not getting business from BOA should be taken as a compliment.

"A company has every right to do business with who they want to and don't want to."

This made me laugh. What a pathetically baseless statement.

"Assange is a predator."

Gee. I am thinking "prey" is the word a reasonable person would be looking for here. Trifecta complete.

This is true except for if there is an embargo on a country that business partner is in. Other than that it's not "baseless".

Assange, according to Swedish authorities, forced himself on a sleeping woman.Their laws state it is unlawful for a man to have sex with an unconscious, drunk or sleeping woman. He is by their definitions what Americans would call a predator. Klein you should read his creepy e-mails. The guy is a sexist pig who rationalizes his actions with the usual left wing b.s. , telling the 19. y.o. uni student who shut down his come-ons that her class consciousness was the reason blah bla bla h he is a poseur, a manque and a coward.

Oh man ! The Guardian's website of all places has the account of Assange's accusers, and it aint nice.

" That evening, Miss A held a party at her flat. One of her friends, “Monica”, later told police that during the party Miss A had told her about the ripped condom and unprotected sex. Another friend told police that during the evening Miss A told her she had had “the worst sex ever” with Assange: “Not only had it been the world’s worst screw, it had also been violent.” "

Oh. Mike. If you are saying it, it must be true. LOL.

It is baseless because BofA might have some reason for not doing business with Wikileaks, but saying that businesses can do business with whomever they want is just stupid. Stupid. Corporations have NEVER been that way, even from the 15th century.

What is a hostile takeover? What is a charter? What are articles of incorporation? What is redlining? Study those jeopardy answers and expand your brain. Businesses are forced EVERY DAY to do business with people that they might not like in the least bit. And if they don't, they get SUED! And of all corporations, your genius buddy uses BofA as the example to support his "thesis" haha! Don't you think that BofA gets strongarmed on a daily basis into extending credit to people you would not lend a dime to?

My guess is that BofA will make some lame excuse that they do not do business with criminals, but in fact they do. And Wikileaks has not been convicted of any crime. As far as I know, Wikileaks itself is not even being prosecuted for any crime. Shout and yell hooray if you want, but hey, you are next, and you can bet Wikileaks won't be coming to your defense.

Aw. The second of my "goofy statement" alerts in my trifecta was apparently removed. Well, suffice it to say that certain posters on this thread will come up with doozies soon enough. I still think that this takes the cake:

"A company has every right to do business with who they want to and don't want to"

BofA will have some explaining to do one way or another. Watch how the American legal system, plutocrats, and government will come together to squash this guy. If it is true that you can measure someone's power by their enemies, then this Assange guy is apparently challenging the whole new world order. Why isn't the Tea Party behind that? Oh yeah. They got bought out by a tax break for jillionaires. So much for THAT revolution.

Yeah Klein like when the USA told Canadian companies they can't do business with Cuba and Canadian companies told them to get stuffed and went on doing business.

So if Bank of America doesn't want to do any transactions for Wikileaks I guess they have that right since Wikileaks threatens to disclose information against them and encouraged cyber attacks on Visa and MasterCard who BofA do a lot of business with. I'd choose also not to do business with an organization like that too. Nothing you can do about it. I'm not sure what is causing your excessive paranoia. Maybe if you tried explaining exactly how Companies don't have the right to choose who they do business with. That may help us understand your rants. Oh and don't forget the medication before you start typing.

do guys like u ever tire of conspiracy?

Who said anything about a conspiracy? I am talking about a mass slow motion lemming-like leap off a cliff. Lemmings don't need to conspire, they know what to do and think naturally. I never get tired off watching lemmings or other outbreaks of mass insanity.

What a pathetically baseless statement" its obvious you neither run your own business (or even in marketing) nor are you of Cuban decent... I have refused to do business with companies who I have an inclination that they would send our medical devices to Iraq. I will tell anyone not to do business with anyone who does send Castro money. Maybe you like the idea of a dictator getting money but I don't especially when said dictator has seized everything my family has ever owned. Only pigs are desperate to do business with people who would potentially hurt you. Besides, why are they doing business with American companies? I thought they weren't down with us.

Securosis

Apt name.

heh it's just a bit odd to me. What did Wikileaks think would happen? "Please read our explosive Bank of America documents detailing unethical behavior from a stolen hard drive!!! And in the meantime, if you'd like to donate, please send the money to Bank of America account number 012345."

It's not like Wikileaks chose to stop doing business with Bank of America. I guess they were "freedom loving" enough when they were sending the cash.

I love Assange's complaints about his leaked police files:

Bjorn Hurtig, Mr Assange’s Swedish lawyer, said he would lodge a formal complaint to the authorities and ask them to investigate how such sensitive police material leaked into the public domain.
