Barcelona van attack suspect may have crossed into France

Where did these young men get the money to purchase 100 gas canisters, travel between towns, rent multiple vehicles, other expenses while seemingly unemployed? 

Follow the money. If the fugitive has fled to France, how does this Spanish village kid have contacts offering shelter in France. This terror attack seems to be a larger network than the unemployed young men in a Pyrenees town.

The "contacts" in France could simply be someone who visited Barcelona for fun and met our boys. It is easy to disappear into the French country-side, especially if you are backpacking.

Where did they get the money? Probably from a stolen credit card. There is a criminal underbelly in Barcelona around petty theft unlike I've seen anywhere else.
