“Being outraged by the fact that he’s been put in prison, I offer to take his place because I am his accomplice,”

If you're an "accomplice" that means you should be in prison too, not in there for him. Idiot.

She is married—for the fourth time—to a former aide of the founder of France’s far-right anti-immigrant National Front, Jean-Marie Le Pen. She has been fined for inciting hatred against Muslims by attacking the “Islamization” of France and the ritual slaughter of animals in Islamic culture.

What an amazing human being! I wonder how she feels about Muslim dolphins?

throw that animal activist in jail as well.

How quickly the anti-environmentalists turn from opposing the 'tactics' of Paul Watson to opposing all free speech and protest for animal rights.

How predictable.

@Probie If you think Islamization of France has been a successful or even neutral change to French society, you are dead wrong. I suppose you would be happy with higher crime rates, higher unemployment, more conflicts between other minorities, and higher rape. Basically anyone who doesn't like those things is evil in your books. Even literally stating statistics would count as inciting hatred to those people so her fine means nothing but her actually caring about the welfare of her country. Slaughtering animals is barbaric.

This is off topic however. The original topic is about the unjust sentence towards Paul. The confrontation actually began when if I remember correctly, he was called to protect the wildlife by the government of Costa Rica. The fishermen were illegally killing sharks, so he tried to pursuade them to stop. They refused and killed more sharks. So he used water cannons to slow their engines in case they wanted to tried to escape. His plan was to bring the ship back to shore for them to be arrested, but instead, since shark finning is a huge business, they were able to convince the government to send gunboats to protect the fishermen and shoot at Paul and his crew. That's what happened if my memory serves.

Tuntematon Sotilas - The original topic is about the unjust sentence towards Paul.

What sentence are you refering to?

The aging hasbeen Bardot, in another attempt to remain relevent, offered to take the eco-terrorist Watson's place in jail. Since there is absolutely no chance that Germany would ever allow that, what did Bardot hope to accomplish except to get herself some free publicity?

Bardot says she is the eco-terrorist Watson's accomplice but I'm not sure she even knows what she is supposed to be an accomplice to. I guess any publicity is good publicity, even for over-the-hill entertainers.

So, but I'd say that anyone who supports a "far-right anti-immigrant National Front" organisation isn't a nice person.

Anyway, we all know Watson will be loving the attention this has brought him. Bardot just wants in on the column inches. They're both sad, desperate attention-whores.
