Is the witch hunt finally over now?

lets see the full report - not just the summary from the handpicked AG...

If you want to call seeking truth and justice a witch hunt, then this witch hunt his over. Odd euphemism for going after criminals.

how much money and time was wasted on this garbage....

None.

No.
For the first time in his adult life.
You're conflating Russian meddling with collusion. You're also presupposing that there was no collusion because Trump's campaign wasn't trying.

SIX more years of Trump!!!
Wolfpack
Ok then - now is the time to go after the those partisans that used extraordinary means to purchase disinformation from Russian sources with funds provided by the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign and use that as a means to collude with Russia to cause the turmoil and polarization that Americans have endured over the past three years.
This entire matter will not be over until operatives with the Obama administration, including Lynch, Yates, and Brennan, partisans in the FBI including Comey, Ohr, Lisa Page, Stozk, and McCabe are investigated. And there is the violation of Carter Pages fourth amendment rights - a man whose surveillance allowed the Obama DOJ to monitor Trumps campaign and begin this fraudulent investigation to begin with.
Toasted Heretic
34 people charged, arrested, jailed pending etc.
That's a start. And with Trump's stability problems, it's only a matter of time before the meltdown to end all meltdowns.
Wolfpack
Roughly $30 million. Dems consider it money well spent as it bought them control of the House of Representatives. Republicans would be stupid not to do the same during the next Dem presidential administration.
Barr quoting the Mueller report:
So Mueller got people for crimes completely unrelated to the election or process crimes over a supposed crime that we now know never happened.
kurisupisu
To have implied that Donald Trump had some sort of relationship with Russia which the media has pored over without any concrete evidence for years shows that there are entities with set agendas-way more scary than anything Trump has done....
PTownsend
By the DOJ's officials - appointed by Trump. Fortunately the US Constitution provides for a separation and balance of powers, allowing the legislative and judicial branches to check an executive trying to take too much control.
Exactly.
Perhaps when Putin said he personally didn't 'meddle', but that some 'patriotic' Russians might have? Maybe some JT posters can explain why Internet Research Agency and other Russian posters remain such staunch GoTrumpers. They must think Trump's of value to Russian oligarchs, i.e. those who pay the posters' salaries.
Toasted Heretic
This is not over.
In particular, US and state attorneys in New York are peeling away the layers of the stinking onion that is the Trump family business. Those layers include hush money to a porn star, fraudulent statements to lenders and insurers about real estate, a sham family foundation and corruption involving foreign donations to an inaugural committee.

So much information has been uncovered by the Mueller team, including how corrupt Trump's businesses and 'charities' have been. With Trump and team there's been NO boundaries between crime, business and politics. Hopefully any crimes known to have been committed by Trump Inc. will be prosecuted.
Trump needs to release his most current tax info to show the public where he's invested and who he owes money to. He also should reveal how much his global properties have profited since he's been in office, including how much his properties bill the US taxpayers whenever he plays golf at one of them, and also how much money Saudi royals and others have spent at his properties. Among so many other dodgy activities.
CaptDingleheimer
Time to move the ol' goal posts again, eh Democrats
Toasted Heretic
Looking for justice, transparency and accountability doesn't mean one is necessarily a Democrat. There are no goal posts, seeing as this is the future of your country and its standing and it's not a game.
Concerned Citizen
This investigation was a farce. Republicans are just as guilty as they tried to impede Obama in endless investigations as well. No wonder Trump labelled Washington DC a swamp.
Let's hope that those in Washington can get on with governing for the people, which is thier job.
Black Sabbath
Release the report.
Thomas Bickel
Four more years! I love our excellent President Trump! Great leader!
Concerned Citizen
What an absolute disgrace this investigation was. Millions wasted and time lost. And the media was complicit. Meanwhile millions are in poverty, need jobs, infrastructure is crumbling, incurable diseases need research, etc.
This is a slap in the face to the average citizen and an example of how political and media elites don't care about them at all.
Toasted Heretic
Yep, Trump be laughing at them for all time. Still, 34 people busted is no waste of time. And if there's currently insufficient evidence over collusion and/or obstruction that means it's far from ended.
Wolfpack
Not a game? Have you not been paying attention to the farce that has been going on the last nearly three years? The Russians have been manipulating the American public and the Obama Administration, partisans in the FBI, and Democrats have been playing right along. They didn’t have to be supportive of Trump to refrain from doing Putin’s bidding.
SimondB
During the course of his investigation he found that many of those closest to the president had committed serious crimes that needed to be prosecuted. This is how investigations work.
Let me make it simple for you. If the police are investigating a burglary and while checking the burglarized home they come across a body with gunshot wounds they would probably also investigate what looked like a murder. Sounds crazy I know, but this is what they do.
Toasted Heretic
A reminder that the Mueller report hasn't been circulated as yet. So far, we have a 4 page commentary on the report from the AG. Even in that frugal commentary, he states that the report does not exonerate the president. It also uses careful wording to say there are no connections to the Russian Government, but all other evidence points to connections with private Russian citizens - a convenient work around.
Wolfpack
Great. When Barr goes after the DOJ/FBI corruption that led to this ginned up investigation looking for a crime I hope they loop in a ton of Dem’s along with them.
Actually Barr quotes Mueller’s exoneration of Trump on the central issue of Russian collusion. Isn’t that what this was all about anyway? Mueller did not say whether anyone obstructed justice. But his longtime supervisor Rosenstein and Barr did make the call. No obstruction of the investigation of the crime that he was not found to have committed. Easy.
But hey, go ahead and push for impeachment for the next two years. That would be the best thing that Dems could do to help Trump win re-election.
Texas A&M Aggie
The Swamp's "insurance policy" has been officially unmasked as insurance fraud. From this day forward, everything coming from the dems & the Fake News cabal will be just white noise.

Very telling, I'd say.
It does not exonerate the PotUS. So when he and the White House say "total and complete exoneration", they're not telling the truth.

Concerning Trump, the Mueller report was never going to be the great find that many had hoped for.
Trump for starters would never have been directly involved in any kind of collusive action. His minders would have freaked out.
Bannon regularly said he couldn't beleive how Trump just can't keep his mouth shut and had he - Trump - been involved himself in such actions the game would have been over before it started.
No it's obvious Trump hasn't the nouse for "espionage", but his underlings certainly can play a tune or two.
No, Trump's connections were purely business - how to make money out of Russia even while president - "I'm not giving up on that chance just because I'm Prez".
And for many of us who disapprove of Trump, it's not his illegal / legal dabblings that are of most importance, but rather his decades of slimy, creepy, bullying mannerisms and tactics - along with his self declared, "I am the greatest" bone-heading that irks us.
Lipstick on a pig or Pearls on a swine - whatever. The man is still the man that many of us deplored for years and years before his presidency.
proxy
I thought I heard the sound of millennial brains exploding. If the other party wants to defeat Trump in the next election going further the the left is not the answer.
Wolfpack
If it helps you to sleep at night then believe whatever you need to believe. Barr and Rosenstein cleared Trump of obstructing justice. Mueller left that up to them to decide. They decided. That ship has sailed. Now it’s up to the rabid Dems in the House to start up the impeachment hearings. Pelosi doesn’t seem to be all that into it but Maxine Waters and Nadler are pretty jacked for it. Sounds like a lot of fun.
Toasted Heretic
That's an interesting spin on the Internet Research Agency, online influencing, Russian troll farms, Trump calling for a hack by Russia and verfied Russian meddling.
No matter how much waving about is done, the stench of this cannot be wafted away.
Toasted Heretic
LOL, the Democrats are hardly left. But they do need to go towards full accountability and tax cuts for the poor, affordable healthcare, education etc.
The biggest scandal of all, is the rich (be they Repubs or Dems) is keeping the poor marginalised and keeping the rich and shameless at the top.
Who will have the guts to investigate that, I wonder.
Madden
Wow, the reaction to this report is shocking. People are upset that the president didn't conspire with a foreign power to rig the election? What the hell?
Joe Blow
It’s time for the Democrats go put on their big boy pants and become a real political party again. But who are we kidding, they don’t have a platform beyond the Green New Deal and “impeach orange Hitler because of muh Russia and I feel he’s bad.”
There was little question Trump could demolish the 2020 Dem field before, now there’s none.
bjones
Tables have turned. Now to investigate Treasonous acts. Pain begins! Jail!!
Toasted Heretic
But that wouldn't be entirely correct. There's a big question mark over obstruction and there's been a lot of people who have been caught out by the investigation.
No therapy needed.
Wolfpack
Trump trolled Hillary night after night. Sadly her brainwashed masses proved incapable of accepting that the women who was to inherit her rightful place on Bill’s throne lost to a reality TV show clown.
Look I know this hurts. I sincerely could not believe Hillary was allowed to destroy evidence while she was under investigation. Even after Comey flat out stated that she was careless with classified information, a crime ordinary people get no mercy for committing, he let her walk anyway. The pendulum will swing back your way - probably in 2020 if the Dems can move back off the Socialist ledge.
Toasted Heretic
They are both clowns, in my book.
The Democrats need to dump the Clintonites and other rich centrists and make it a people's party. If they can concentrate on actual socialism, they can make good in 2020.
bass4funk
No, they’re socialists now.
But That will never happen without destroying the middleclass, California is a prime example of the exodus that is happening in part because of radical liberal policies.
And you have had this from the beginning of time and you will always have the poor, always, all the more reason to break the cycle of being government dependent. As long as people depend on big government financial prosperity will always elude people.
Investigate what?
Miyam_Musashi
Don't believe the spin. Had there been obstruction, you think Mueller would have hesitated for one second to pursue charges?
This entire fiasco is over except for the rabid left, which will be their undoing in 2020.
Now, to mete out justice for the real criminals behind taking down a duly-elected president.
bass4funk
For the Democrats it’s started already, kinda scary seeing adults freak out like this.
Bingo!
Toasted Heretic
Given that you cannot differentiate between socialism, market socialism, liberals, Democrats, Marxists; I think I'll pass on this tangent.
Perhaps they should rely on silver spoon inheritance, tax breaks for the rich and the right social environment and postcode?
Blacklabel
It was a great report. The summary clearly states no collusion, insufficient evidence for obstruction. Also noted that there are no sealed indictments and it was not considered that you can’t indict a sitting president.
Sure Dems will try to cling to the obstruction comments but there was no crime to obstruct. How long until Dems start investigating mueller? I bet Rosenstein is on the hot seat too now. Wasn’t he your guy? He ageeed with Barr.
Toasted Heretic
For trying to get to the truth and protect America from a criminal family?
Never. No apologies, no regrets.
Joe Blow
How's that working for the current Dem candidates?
The United States will never be a socialist country.
Toasted Heretic
Despite the cowardly online smears and villifications, pretty good. There's a backlog of ignorance and conditioning to work through, of course.
I don't see why not. The revolutionary war was a decent step forward. Anyways, if Sweden, Denmark, UK, Republic of Ireland, Canada etc can incorporate socialism into overall governance and policy, there's no reason that the US can't.
Have to break free from reliance on demagogues like Trump and misinformationists like Fox and it's supporters. Not to mention doing a bit of research and understanding politics goes beyond 2 mainstream parties, as well.

You didn’t have your morning coffee. What does this mean?
Are you saying that the Trump campaign was looking for an opportunity to collude with the Russians? If so, what you are suggesting is THOUGHTCRIME.
YESTERDAYTODAYTOMORROW
You're probably right... because left wing conspiracy theories do not exist and are always fact.
OR!! Maybe they've gotten to you? By 'they' I mean the left wing media and their constant screaming of collusion. If you scream something loud and long enough it often becomes your truth... until it's proven otherwise. Then what? Unfortunately it appears that it's going to be more of the same...

how much money and time was wasted on this garbage....
actually Mueller probe made a profit for the American taxpayer, with all the assets confiscated by those arrested and sent to prison.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/02/12/mueller-russia-investigation-costs/2736507002/
also of note Trump has spent more on his golf vacations to Mar Largo than what Muellers investigation cost. Lets not forget the $1 trillion Trump tax cut which is expected to cost 1.5trillion over the next 10 yrs and caused the nation deficit to increase further, the treasury dept has predicted the nation debt will increase by an additional $5trillion in Trumps first term, notably the deficit with China is increasing even with the easy to win trade war.

We don't need to look overseas. Our experiment in "overall governance and policy" can be found right here at home in failing cities like San Francisco, LA, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, etc.

I have to disagree with the latter statement. I can’t think of a single Democrat who is a true socialist. Sure, we hear all kinds of calls with a socialist ring, but these come from Opportunists. This “-ism” prevails in DC and in state legislatures. Rarely do politicians of any party have a cogent set of policies with realistic ways of implementing them. At least Republicans who offer nothing can claim they “do no harm”.
bass4funk
Yeah, liberals say that all the time. ROFL!
....or a good education, someone to teach them how to fish and how to work hard and not rely on the government.
ReturningGrace
This is just sad. After 2 years of scraping, they found nothing. It's a good thing people want it released or else Mueller will milk for another 2 years with no release. Everyone would still be thinking something is there. Of course the haters continue to hate regardless. Right now the anti-Trump party looks like fools who tried to bring him down with dirty tricks with no success. Don't tell me Trump will actually have a chance next election.
And if people want to talk about corruptions, I suggest that all politicians should be investigated.
theeastisred
This is very surprising and on a trivial partisan level slightly disappointing in a way. But in a much more important way, it is reassuring that Trump wasn't actively working with the Russians in their ultimately successful efforts to get him elected. If, that is what Mueller concluded, of course. It will be necessary to see the full report to ensure there was no misrepresentation by Barr, who was placed into that job specifically to protect Trump from the impact of this enquiry.
bass4funk
Lol, ok...but how? Details please...
Well, since we are bigger and we have an increasing national debt that both parties fail to address and seeing how California and NY are spiraling downward and taking the middleclass with it, I doubt it will catch on anytime soon. Not in our lifetime. But as you said, if those Americans want to go and live in those tiny countries with tiny populations and they want to pay higher taxes and wait longer to get heart transplants, go for it.
Riiiiight, lol.
Or they can drive through the streets of Los Angeles see for themselves, that’ll spook any rational person to pack up and leave.
jcapan
Setting aside right-wingers who would gleefully conflate Tony Blair and FDR as fellow travelers, I think nomenclature is also important for our side. And while you may be advocating actual socialism, I think what a portion of the Democratic Party in the US is striving towards is social democracy. i.e. a political, social and economic ideology that supports economic and social interventions to promote social justice within the framework of a liberal democratic polity and a capitalist economy.
This as opposed to socialism proper, a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
PTownsend
How about this perspective:
Perhaps some people who believe that political and business corruption are acceptable IF it's their political messiah involved in the corruption might say 'nothing has been found', but most people who expect transparency and honesty in both government and business would probably disagree.
Lots has been 'found' for those willing to read media outlets other than those praising Trump and the other elite profiting from his time in DC.
And it looks like there's lots of time left to 'find something'.
If Trump's regime allows the truth to be shown.
bass4funk
As the famous professor and liberal “Alan Dershowitz” once said: any form of euphemism being used to describe and interpret various forms of socialism, the end results and the meaning will not change the very definition of what socialism is, big government taking over the private sector.
If socialism is so great why aren’t people moving to Cuba, Vietnam or Venezuela?
PTownsend
Would an example be when big government hires 'private' contractors to do work for them? The Post Office? Roads? Water treatment systems? Public education? Fire departments? Police? Emergency service workers? Public parks, etc.?
I worry more about Trump and his fellow ultrarightists doing what Putin did, making Putin the richest man in the world by selling off public services to a chosen few elite and turning Russia into a fascist state.
Blacklabel
Comey musing on Twitter: so many questions.
lindsey Graham: could not agree more. See you soon.
now after all the defense it’s our turn to play offense.
bass4funk
Do we really need the Post Office nowadays?
Utter and complete waste of time and money.
These are important agencies and have nothing to do with feeding and clothing every individual from cradle to grave and showering them with entitlements.
That Oliver Stone conspiracy theory left and sailed a long time ago.
bass4funk
You are 100% right, but given what we know now, if the Democrats continue on this sick mental path and still try to impeach Trump on some form of obstruction, it’ll make the Dems look worse than they already are looking and now more than ever, the GOP would never remove him. So the Dems completely overplayed their hand foolishly on this one.
Serrano
This investigation is. Plenty more to follow.
The Russia narrative was the foundation for so much of the anti Trump hysteria. The level of mental gymnastics required to keep it going is going to be staggering, but the left has been in training for this moment for years now. Prepare yourselves for some medal winning performances.
PTownsend
You're saying then that there's a range of what can be called socialism, that you approve of some forms of socialism.
How about government contractors, those who claim to work for the 'private' sector but are entitled to privileges like public health care, use of a base PX and other facilities, similar to government employees.
yakyak
great news! Now I can enjoy the Cherry blossoms! MAGA!
Deadforgood
What does Barr mean by insufficient? Does it mean that he doesn't wanna deal with constitutional issues of indicting a sitting president or that there was simply not enough evidence? Seems like that is why he is dropping other charges of obstruction of justice. I guess a public release of the report would be awfully damaging to Trump's name and character...
Serrano
Oh my...
Attorney general: The Mueller report clears Trump campaign of collusion with Russia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMXXOtCo8FQ
Tokyo-Engr
There are numerous reasons why I think Donald Trump should not be President but the Russian thing is not nor was it ever one of them h
The best thing that could happen is to release the report (as others have stated above) and if there is no proof of collusion then move on. I think the Democrats need to get their own things in order as there are many internal issues they need to address prior to the next election (such as what they really stand for). Lot's of potential candidates pulling in different directions.
bass4funk
I already answers the question.
Yup.
Oh, dear lord....give it a rest, buy a beer and let’s move on. I didn’t like entire Russia collusion hoax garbage, but Mueller to his credit and his army of of 15 angry Democrats in all of this trying their best and gave it their all and left No Stone uncovered, in the end, there was nothing to suggest anything of the sort of nonsense the Democrats are forcefully trying to indoctrinate on the American people. If he had something, he would have ran with it, that didn’t happen and the Dems look like idiots with their media surrogates like Chris Matthews foaming at the mouth in utter disbelief that Mueller didn’t find anything. My best advice is, let it go, relax, support your favorite liberal/socialist candidate and try to take Trump out at that ballot box, that is the best vindication liberals should try and focus on and forget this other nonsense.
darknuts
Are there really people who believe this was anything more than politically motivated? The naivete is astounding. The democrats truly have Americans eating out of thier hands.
Deadforgood
"Yup" what? Doesn't wanna indict a sitting president for criminal action or there is not enough evidence?
I'm pretty relaxed, and I think the report shows that there was no collusion with Russia, even without seeing it. But I also wanna see it, because I'm curious about Trump's obstruction of justice crimes that are included in the report and Barr doesn't wanna deal with.
As for 2020, I don't think dems will have too much trouble beating Trump, with or without the report's release.
jcapan
This. Just read a quote from Glenn Greenwald that echoes your idea:
"I think Dem presidential candidates are glad to be free of the moronic Trump/Russia script they've been forced to recite from because MSNBC & liberal sites riled up the base to demand it. Now they can talk about rational things... people actually care about"
WaPo also had a good piece on what should be a reckoning for much of the media that sold this narrative nonstop for the past 2 plus years:

I find it hilarious all the Trumpers here are congratulating themselves and saying that the Mueller report exonerates Trump – only in their dreams….
Imagine if Muller didn’t lay out his indictments sequentially – if he kept them all secret until the report was published – then we find out that;
Trump’s Campaign Manager was in hock to Russians, was regularly meeting with Russians, and lied about all of it under oath.
Trump’s Deputy Campaign Manager did the same, most of it upon the direction of his boss.
Trump’s Attorney General met with Russians and lied about it.
Trump’s National Security Advisor met with Russians and lied about it.
Trump’s National Security Specialist met with Russians and lied about it.
Trump’s personal attorney met with Russians and lied about it.
All of those senior Trump advisors individuals indicted for lying under oath – all chosen by him.
What the Mueller report tells us is what we already knew – the Trump administration is filled with felons, liars, con-men, and traitors – all hand-selected by Donnie the Dimwit…
Some exoneration…
Meanwhile the over ten seperate criminal investigations by the NY SD Attorney continue...
Don't get rid of the lawyers yet Donnie - you're still going to need them...
Strangerland
Trump installed Barr in the justice department, so that Barr could do exactly what he did - dismiss the contents of the report.
We have still not seen the report, and Barr is a hyper-partisan.
Let's wait and see the report.
yakyak
Distorted reality. Democrats look at yourself in the mirror and finally accept you have no one to blame but yourself for the humiliating loss to Trump. Heads will roll soon enough and it will be on your side!

A truly corrupt person would have issued a report against Trump. Mueller didn't because he ain't corrupt. Any of you Trumpophiles going to admit that and apologize for your disparagement of Mueller?
Toasted Heretic
It's not a game or a violent television series.
There's no doubt that the centrist Democrats need urgent change and one hopes the likes of AOC et al, will enrich the party. But to counter the virus of Trumpism, they need to be very canny and cautious with it.
Don't forget, this PotUS has advocated violence if things don't go his way. America is at a crossroads and the world is watching.

There is an election coming. Time to vote on a direction for the country. Only believe in your way. Listen to no one but yourself. Blame no one but yourself for not doing more if your candidate loses.
Toasted Heretic
At the end of the day, Mueller's investigation obviously wasn't the witch hunt and waste of time Trump and his chums like to spin it as. Don't forget, it sent his former lawyer & former campaign chief to jail. It resulted in dozens of other indictments related to a genuine Russian conspiracy to meddle with the 2016 election and help Trump get elected.
At the very most, it's a hollow victory for the Trump loyalists.
plasticmonkey
Under the law, a person can obstruct justice without having been party to the crime or without a crime actually having been committed. That's the way it is. Obstruction of justice is deliberate action to interfere with an active investigation.
Mueller may have left out obstruction of justice for two possible reasons. First is that he couldn't find enough evidence that Trump intended to obstruct. Or it could be that he didn't want to put the DOJ in the bind of prosecuting a sitting president, which is against protocol and tradition (though not necessarily law). Remember, Mueller is an institutionalist (or as Trumpsters would say, a "swamp creature") and would probably prefer not to bring the whole house down. (Ironic that the institutionalism that the Trump cult rails against is in this case protecting Trump.)
The only way to find out is to see the report in full.
bass4funk
You can’t indict a sitting President.
Won’t happen.
https://www.justice.gov/olc/opinion/sitting-president’s-amenability-indictment-and-criminal-prosecution
Some liberals on this site for some odd reason choose not to believe that.....strange.
You don’t know what Barr is thinking or wanting, upyou have No idea, he can’t just turn it over, just like that. They have To see what is allowed under the law, what Congress can see what the house democrats can see, what methods were used by the FBI, some of the names of witnesses that came forward, there are a lot of things that need to be considered and even Nadler can Subpoena Barr or Meuller, they don’t have to say anything if they don’t want. Hey, if they couldn’t make Lois Lerner talk, Mark Fuhrmann talk, then there is no way they will make these men talk or give up the report because Nadler and his merrily men of cry babies want it.
Like how? What issue? What policies? More socialism, freebies, infanticide, the new green deal, regulations and entitlements? Yeah, please run on those issues. ROFL!
Toasted Heretic
Nobody is running under a promise of infanticide. But I'm sure rich Republicans are used to entitlements, like massive tax cuts etc, so they don't have a leg to stand on, in that regard.

seems the liberals have had time to regroup and get their “but” and “if” talking points while trying to disparage Barr.
No collusion. Clear as day.

One of the things that Manafort pleaded guilty to was giving the Russians detailed information about Americans, which information could be used by the Russian hackers to better coordinate their disinformation campaign in America. That is the very definition of collusion.
Many of the people around Trump pleaded guilty to felonies concerning their dealings with Russians, before, during and after the elections. The felony convictions came about largely as a result of the Mueller investigation. And yet Trump bellows, "See, that proves I am innocent!"

There is no justification for tax cuts for the rich and cutting aid to the impoverished and less well off.
