China trash causing problems again!

9 ( +13 / -4 )

It was the second confrontation in days near Sabina Shoal, about 140 kilometers (85 miles) west of the Philippine province of Palawan, in the internationally recognized exclusive economic zone of the Philippines.

All you need to know, really.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

They didn't collide. The Chinese attempted to ram the Filipino the vessel.

19 ( +20 / -1 )

@tamanegi

that makes a better sense.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

The Government of China is intent, under the cover of conflict in the middle east, eastern Europe, Ukraine, to leverage global political instability, to belligerently seize advantage, control to trading shipping routes in the east and south China seas.

The Filipino boat looks like a car that gets in front of another car and slams on the breaks with intentions of starting a conflict backed by big brother US of A whose Navy is outstretched with two of the carriers in the Middle East and the remaining one in San Diego. Even the US doesn't believe China will fall for this. The only card the US can play is to get Taiwan to declare independence which won't happen.

There is no way China will let this turn into another Western plunder of Chinese and Russian assets freeze. China is too smart for the Wile E Coyote US (Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong, Philippines, Tiananmen all ACME rocket fails.) We look forward to Myanmar.

Another day, another aggressive act by China.

China never changes, and never will under the CCP. Engagement with it is hopeless: the free world must strengthen its deterrence, strengthen its military and political ties, and decouple from the totalitarian monster as soon as possible.

We can be friends with China once the CCP falls. Not until.

The Filipino boat looks like a boat that is being intentionally rammed by China. Because that's what it is.

There is no way China will let this turn into another Western plunder of Chinese and Russian assets freeze.

The only one trying to plunder here is China.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

The Chinese ship appears to have been the aggressor alright…

6 ( +8 / -2 )

One has to wonder if the Chinese Coast Guard has gone rogue like elements of the Chinse military...

Does Xi actually control major portions of his government or do the respective "Mandarins" do what they want?

Irrespective of the motivation for Chinese actions, they are in flagrant violation of the UNCLOS decision made in the Philippines favor...

"In its ruling, the Tribunal firmly rejected any PRC territorial or maritime claim to areas determined by the Tribunal to be part of the Philippines' exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. As provided under the Convention, the 2016 arbitral decision is final and legally binding on the PRC and the Philippines."

This is not a story that makes sense but I guess as long as you conclude your post with the disinformation that China doesn't want war you can get paid.

Ive seen the video. There was no “attempt”. The Chinese vessel rammed the other.

China being China . . . Again.

Backward China was easier to live with than the one it’s become today.

If the Chinese coast guard's mission was to look like a bunch of jerks, then it succeeded.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

The evidence is right there in the photos. Who is ramming who? Last time I checked. Only Chinese and Japanese use Kanji on their vessels. Bow of the Chinese ship swiping the Philippian ships broadside.

Chinese Captain's pride and sense of maritime lines is warped and his command conduct is even worse, The Chinese are inciting a maritime war. Keep it up. Be careful for what you wish for.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

And the childish behaviors still continues, next time bring your big boys pants.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

What happens when the Philippines navy fires back when rammed by a Chinese government ship?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

This could all be over if the Philippine navy were to hold so-called exercises with her ally the United States, hint Mr. Biden! Lets see if China would want to ram a US navy war ship, think not! China needs to learn she's not the badass on the open seas that she thinks she is!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Hey China, perhaps reading the UN TERRITORIAL SEA AND CONTIGUOUS ZONE convention is a needed reminder for what is your sovereign seas and land?

Ref: https://www.un.org/depts/los/convention_agreements/texts/unclos/part2.htm

SECTION 2. LIMITS OF THE TERRITORIAL SEA

Article3

Breadth of the territorial sea

Every State has the right to establish the breadth of its territorial sea up to a limit not exceeding 12 nautical miles, measured from baselines determined in accordance with this Convention.

The words get complex, but here's an image to help even Chinese politicians understand: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7d/Zonmar-en.svg from the Maritime boundary rules:

Another day another day of trouble making and crying by Bong Bong & Co. I do wonder how much is deposited in Bong Bong's Swiss Bank account every time he causes trouble in the SCS. I do hope the press onboard these ships gets a small piece of the pie but I doubt it.

BRP Teresa Magbanua, constructed by MHI and financed by the J gov. Duly noted.

Step up. Step in. Don't budge an inch to wanna be bullies. The CCP needs hip checking. Hard.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

China is a pain in the world's ass.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

On Tuesday, Adm. Samuel Paparo, the head of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, said the U.S. military is open to consultations about escorting Philippine ships in the disputed waters.

Philippines haven't consulted until now still?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Does China even realize that nobody believes anything they say?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

The picture shows the Chinese ship intentionally directly crashing into the Philippine ship.

Getting to be about the time to put China in their place.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

It seems time to rename South China Sea so that China realizes it's not all theirs.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Another day another day of trouble making and crying by Bong Bong & Co.

Another day, another few shiny social credit points and fifty cents "earned" by the CCP cheerleaders, all desperate to post their alternate reality fantasies to show obedience to their divine Emperor.

Sad, but true.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Getting more desperate but unless it's a clear armed attack initiated by China the US won't lift a finger.

Perhaps not even then.

But US will surely do all it can to help Marcos hold on to power

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

That is Chinese territory. The Philippines constitution recognizes a 118 longitude limit, not the EEZ.

The Philippines ship rammed the Chinese ship and then pulled ahead in front of it.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Marcos Jr, son of the former dictator, is spending his time organizing political stunts in the South China sea.

Of course you cannot develop a country with political stunts.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

This is not a story that makes sense but I guess as long as you conclude your post with the disinformation that China doesn't want war you can get paid.

Labeling an opinion as disinformation does not make it so. This is after all a comment section.

I don’t think they’ll get China to bite over the Senkaku’s or the Spratly Inslands. They will with Taiwan but the elites in Taiwan wants to keep the status quo or invest and take in the margins from Mainland. It won’t be Taiwan.

India imports more oil from Russia than China imports oil from Russia. Myanmar has a chance but their outfit is too small though geographically close to China.

A strong Navy wins but with Myanmar the US Navy advantage is neutralized. Like I said, they can’t get China to bite and China won’t bite. China is too smart for Wile E Coyote.

They got Russian to bite but China’s fighting an economic war.

On Tuesday, Adm. Samuel Paparo, the head of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, said the U.S. military is open to consultations about escorting Philippine ships in the disputed waters.

Philippines haven't consulted until now still?

The language was “possible” the US is open to the possibility of escorting Filipino ships. It is not a commitment. The Pentagon’s reports do not support a confrontation with China.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

It seems time to rename South China Sea so that China realizes it's not all theirs.

It’s not about claiming but controlling the South China Seas. China will make sure no embargoes will take place again; hence the Spratly Islands, port in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. After all, China is responsible for keeping the sea lanes open.

When the Arctic route with Russia is cemented and the new Silk Road is established, tensions might let up in the South China Seas but I don’t see China doing that until then.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

That is Chinese territory. The Philippines constitution recognizes a 118 longitude limit, not the EEZ.

The Philippines ship rammed the Chinese ship and then pulled ahead in front of it.

It has to do with the island the Filipinos stole from Taiwan while the Taiwanese were evacuating from a typhoon.

Yes, they did not do this under Duarte and only can started doing this with the US’s backing. Nevermind that Muslims the US claims are supposedly being killed in concentration camps in Xinjiang. The US has long stopped mentioning it. They’re more interested in coast guard bumper boats these days. They’ll forget about the Philippines like Joshua Wong sooner than later.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Getting more desperate but unless it's a clear armed attack initiated by China the US won't lift a finger.

The US will get the proxy philipinos to lift their fingers.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Step up. Step in. Don't budge an inch to wanna be bullies. The CCP needs hip checking. Hard.

The CPC already gave the US of A a hard check. The USS Connecticut’s system was unable to detect a sea mountain underwater in the South China Seas and sits in San Diego rehabilitating its injury.

Of course they don't.

The Philippines gave away a lot of new bases to the US because they were led to believe that the US will defend them against ChIna.

But why would the US go to war with China over some lackey country's fishing grounds?

The much hyped US Philippines defense treaty now just boils down to "the U.S. military is open to consultations about escorting Philippine ships in the disputed waters."

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

The fantasy, Dear Isabella, is that PH has any agency here. See the strings of the puppet master above stretching across the Pacific to Uncle Sam's hand. Do PH based NED funded entities pay in pesos or dollars?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

The Filipino people truly do deserve a non corrupt government focused on economic development to raise the livelihood of the average citizen. Look how poorly PH economy compares to its ASEA neighbors.

$88,447 Singapore

$35,111 Brunei

$13,315 Malaysia

$7,812 Thailand

$5,271 Indonesia

$4,623 Vietnam

$4,130 Philippines

Only Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar are lower than PH (Per capita income by ASEAN country, 2024, IMF numbers)

Of course you cannot develop a country with political stunts.

The US is not willing to go to war against Russia. It'll just loan money and supply weapons to Zelenskyy. Let the Ukrainians do the heavy lifting.

The US is certainly not going to go to war against China. It'll just supply arms to the Marcos. Let the Filipinos fight for themselves and the US will sit back and wait to harvest the frozen Chinese assets if China ever "invades" the Thomas shoal reefs.

No, the Philippines is refusing to get the US involved.

And funny how none of that matters to the Philippines right to use their waters. Also a bigger gulf separates China and the US in gdp than China and the Phillipines, even if you use the lowest number you can find.

They got Russian to bite

I guess this shows the level of disinformation we are dealing with here.

The CPC already gave the US of A a hard check. The USS Connecticut’s system was unable to detect a sea mountain underwater in the South China Seas and sits in San Diego rehabilitating its injury.

Claims a navigation error as a military victory. Ooooookkkkkk. I guess this is what passes for military glory in China.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

More escalation in this ongoing dispute. Back in 2011, the Philippine government began referring to the South China Sea as the West Philippine Sea!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The United States finances all military conflicts by squeezing profits out of the war. They give money to Israel, they give money to Ukraine, they give money to the Philippines, etc. And some commentators here are already in the status of victims and therefore write all sorts of obscene words here. Victim is certainly not the best status for people. As soon as everything calms down, these people will immediately disappear from the air and will live quietly and not talk too much. They will be afraid that they will come to talk to them.
