The Nobel prize has been around a lot longer than the People's Republic of China.

In the eyes of the etire world it's the Chinese government that are tools.

So "Western tools" like"Sciences, technologies, capitals, factories ,jobs, foods, clothes..." are very OK but "Nobel peace prize" is just "BS"? Perhaps China is trying to teach the West of "how to be smart" in China communist way.

Let's hope Obama listens to the Indians on his visit. They are saying they are the US natural business partner not China. I am not a fan of lopsided globalization but I would trust the world's largest democracy far sooner than the CCP.

Pretty strong language. China seems really on a path with the thought it can control the world. 'Interference in China's internal affairs'. Ahh. Haven't read that great Chinese adage for a while.

The Dalai Lama got the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. Lui Xiaobo is the first Chinese (although in a Chinese prison because the guys in Beijing think in a different way about peace than people with common sense) to be rewarded.

China is learning that it couldn't do in the outside world what it does inside its border. It's not as easy in the outside world. They need to learn to be more sophisticated in how to deal with these issues. Sending blunt letters and expect everyone to follow it just won't do outside. There are other more sophisticated ways to deal with damage control.

It's pretty clear that China's propaganda is for domestic consumption and it doesn't really expect foreign viewers/listeners to take it seriously.

Well my theory has been all along that they gave the Nobel to Liu because the Peace Prize committee wanted and needed to restore some credibility after the Obama prize last year. They figured the Chinese government would freak out and give them lots of publicity, and the overreaction would strengthen the impression that Liu was a worthy winner. Hey, I know that is maybe a far-fetched theory, but if it were true it would be working like a charm.

I think China should have it's version of the Nobel and give out to awards to people who expose the lies and manipulations of the US and other western governments, like the dude who runs whatreallyhappened.com and give recognition to people ignored by the MSM like Indian rights activists or inner city volunteers which would highlight the scum and decay going on in Western societies. Just saying. With all this China bashing because people are so blinded by the msm and just because people are just so freaking stoopid that they actually think CNN and Faux is the news, wtf....

And if a Chinese scientist had won the prize for making a breakthrough, then of course the prize would be a "well deserved recognition of the dedication of the scientist to the world" or something to that effect that the Chinese would issue in a press release, along with the new celeberty status the winner would receive.

If it is a political tool, it sure is a good one.
