China's zero covid is now pseudo-voodoo science.

a touch more than "zero" then....

That has come as many other countries relax pandemic restrictions. Experts have questioned the usefulness of China’s hardline policy, saying vaccines and new treatments for COVID-19 make them redundant.

This could not be written more clearly, but some people will never recognize it, The variants have made the approach counterproductive and risky, being vastly inferior to policies actually based on the best available science.

So does jumping off roof tops and out of windows count as Covid related deaths in China?

Shanghai's surprisingly low death toll amid an outbreak of more than 400,000 cases has sparked questions into how such deaths are tallied.

-- likely temporary

It doesn't look temporary and I doubt it feels it in Shanghai.

At this point in the pandemic, the long term consequential damage from such lockdowns will harm and kill more than a less restrictive response.

Something is going to pop in China. Lacking a free press we don't know the range of opinions in China but the anger and frustration are obvious in their social media posts, before they are deleted or blocked. View the "Voices of April" video for an example.

Another video produced earlier is called "Grocery Shopping". Scroll down to see the video. The rapper switches from Shanghainese dialect to English briefly and you can hear the anger including a barb about "harmonious society".

Hospital spaces for what exactly? patients of every disease that get neglected because of the lockdowns so they end up suffering much worse health problems? Maybe old people that are yet unvaccinated and die of covid so doctors can try to find any other disease to pin the deaths on?

China has stuck to its strict “zero-COVID” approach that restricts travel, mass tests entire cities and sets up sprawling temporary facilities to try to isolate every infected person. Lockdowns start with buildings and neighborhoods but become citywide if the virus is spreading widely.

Because it works at keeping infection rates and covid related deaths the lowest, and was used by Australia and New Zealand, and both countries saw their numbers skyrocketed after they eased their restrictions.

New cases in Beijing have remained steady, with another 62 recorded on Monday,

Incredible work China. This is why international experts have supported the elimination strategy.

Medical professionals understand this, so only respond if you are not a medical professional.

You yourself have repeatedly proved this is false with your sources, China do not have the lowest rates, and China also had its numbers skyrocket, does this means China also abandoned the zero covid policy? obviously not, what it means is that omicron entered the country. New Zealand and Australia changed their approach and thanks to that they did not had disasters like Shanghai and Hong Kong.

The opposite, as the article clearly points out even if you want to ignore it every time is written.

What does this even mean? do you feel you have some authority over who comments or not? or is this just you again trying to guess what other people are and use it as an invalid pseudo argument?
