the vaccinations are a failure.

The Chinese Sino-vax stolen Intellectual Property and poorly re-enginerred vaccinations are a failure.

Fixed it for you Bronco.

You are welcome.

According to official Chinese government statistics, 90% of the population is "fully vaccinated" and close to 60% is fully vaccinated + boosted.

Well then how come they're projecting the possibility of 80% of the population getting infections.

Which of course is meaningless when the amount of time after the last dose is not taken into account, actual health experts have repeatedly called into attention that the vulnerable population of China is extremely underprotedted thanks to a failure of the CCP to actually promote vaccination, and specially to make available to their population the best available vaccines and not the subpar local version.

The government should be honest and openly admit what the people already know...

the vaccinations are a failure.

Nothing of the sort, many other places have had a well controlled risk fro mthe pandemic thanks to vaccines, which should be impossible if your claim was true, the reality is that the only failure comes from the Chinese goverment that failed to prepare in the years it had by immunizing their population properly and by reinforcing their health services. Putting all its eggs in the single basket of lockdowns, even when international experts and authorities clearly said this was unsustainable and a recipe for a disaster that is now happening.

So if 250 million people are COVID positive and their vaccines “don’t work” then what percentage of deaths are they looking at?

if it’s less than 10% then what does that mean?

Indeed, the Chinese vaccine is more like a traditional vaccine; probably much safer than the mRNA nanoparticles, though they appear to be somewhat less effective.

if it’s less than 10% then what does that mean?

If that needs explains then well, let people believe what they want.

President Xi Jinping scrapped the country's zero-COVID policy of lockdowns and relentless testing this month in the face of protests and a widening outbreak.

This sudden, unprepared about face flip-flip, a sure sign of weakness and detachment from reality, is the reason China is three years behind and running around like the proverbial headless chicken. The irony is that some said the protests would come to nothing. Well, they did; the catalyst to the greatest disasters in humanity this millennium!! It was going to happen sometime for sure but the protests shook the establishment in way they did not expect

But I wonder what the antivaxxers are trying to achieve now by repeating the same thing they've always said. An apology? If the vax programme failed, why is the world generally back to normal? The antivaxxers are reaping the benefits of the extensive "failed" vaccination program. They should be grateful.

Raw Beer.....the Chinese vaccines were about 50% effective against the variants that existed in 2021 (https://www.science.org/content/article/chinese-covid-19-vaccine-maintains-protection-variant-plagued-brazil), compared to 90% efficacy of the mRNA-based vaccines.

Another report found that the CoronaVac was not effective against corona. But China is using their own mRNA vaccine now. No data has been released on that, yet.

Why does it have to be all or nothing?

The world's most populous country has narrowed its definition for classifying deaths as COVID-related, counting only those involving COVID-caused pneumonia or respiratory failure, raising eyebrows among world health experts.

you mean like should have been done by all countries all along ! Bravo China!

if it’s less than 10% then what does that mean?

As per this CNA report, at-least 1 million plus infections, and 5000 deaths/day..
