It's strange to listen to Trump fans mock Sanders when they most likely agree with his plan. It's like their minds are closed to what he's actually saying and they are replacing it with stuff in their imagination.

He's saying we should stop taxpayer funding for new charter schools and ban taxpayer funding for for-profit charter schools. So that would actually be a reduction in funding, and more of the funding we have now can go to public schools.

And is the thought of a teacher making $60,000 a year some radical, socialist idea? Was that the part you guys couldn't bear to think about?

And if you listen to Gabbard talk - she's impressive. A person who truly feels like her calling in life is to serve the people. The kind of person you can respect, the kind of person you want as a president

I gave you a thumbs-up for that, Stranger. if she gets the nomination and Trump starts screwing up like invading Iran or Venezuela or some crazy thing like that ( not likely ) I'll be voting for her.

@Strangerland,

This isnt 2008. Things have changed radically in the Dem party. Tulsi’s situation is hopeless. She should switch to the Republican party where she would be more philisophically comfortable.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

In the case of Tulsi - her situation is hopeless. Shes too far to the right to get the Dem nomination in this current age of loony leftism.

She's roughly around the same range as Obama - whom was loved by the people, and was their choice for president - twice (as compared to Trump, who hasn't even been the choice once). If Obama could have had a third term, he would have won it easily. The people have no problem with a person in that position. And if you listen to Gabbard talk - she's impressive. A person who truly feels like her calling in life is to serve the people. The kind of person you can respect, the kind of person you want as a president.

The majority of Americans are left of center. It tapers out in both directions from there. The "loony left" are loud, but a minority, and unlike the loony right, have little power. The loony right on the other hand are extremists, as can be seen in Alabama and Georgia right now, enacting their version of Sharia law in their states. These people hold very real power, and Trump has only enabled their audacity, offending the sensibilities of any good people.

If you think the people won't be willing to vote someone as respectable as Gabbard, whom lets remember is a minority female, giving her bonus points from the "loony left", you're kidding yourself. Ex-military, well spoken, reasonable views; she's the biggest threat to the Republicans right now.

You said she was hopeless. Be honest.

I think Buttigieg is a competent man who isn’t loony left by any reasonable definition. I don’t see Biden as loony left by any reasonable definition.

No need for sweeping statements.

Not everything is about you or your group or anti Trumpers here. This is a media talking point that Biden can take back the blue collar older voters that Hillary lost in the swing states.

But you weren't referring to the media, you asked us. We here never said that. Maybe you should go ask this monolithic 'media' you've made up. They seem to be the ones you're outraged about. Why would you expect us non-media be able to answer questions about things media said? Baffling.

Nope:

The thing Dems are missing is this. You claim that it is easy for Biden to attract Trump voters. Why is that? Because they are similar.......

If biden makes one mistake after winning the nomination his 39% of Dem voters go to Trump or stay home, don’t you remember how many Obama voters voted Trump not Hillary?

If I were a Dem I would be worried that your front runner is the 1 person of 25 that is most similar to trump than any other.

Sanders-Biden 2020!

I don't think Biden is interested in being Bernie's VP.

RealClearPolitics Democratic primary poll has the Democrats' best hope, Tulsi Gabbard ( no, not Alfred E. Neuman ), at .9% and Biden at 39.1%. Idiots.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

I like the Hawaii one. Sanders and Bernie are for whites only.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Sad I can not vote for Bernie but can give him money.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Bernie wants to take your money and control your children.

Biden wants to take your money and molest your children.

So. Liberal.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Sanders-Biden 2020!

Thumbs up for the prediction.

Theyre all hopeless!

So why did you praise Tulsi Gabbard on another thread?

Siily, partisan, inaccurate, self-contradictory and childish comment.

Its hard to know which Dem candidate Trump is hoping for most - Theyre all hopeless!

Who do you think will win the Democratic nomination?

Mayor Pete!

Maybe. He seems to be a competent man.

Thumbs up for making a prediction.

Bernie will never make it

You are very fond of telling us who out of the 20-odd candidates won’t make it.

Who do you think will win the Democratic nomination?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

How we paying for all this?

Ask AOC.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Sanders wants to suspend taxpayer funding of new charter schools and ban those that are for-profit

Good grief. Heaven forbid any school should actually make a profit so they can pay their staff.

If Sanders is the nominee it's gonna be a landslide win for Trump.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Bernie will never make it and the more people realize that his socialist platform has no chance of creeping into politics and being implemented, he will sink like the Titanic.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Anybody Bernie or Warren supports would be better than that snooty clod DeVos anyday.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

How we paying for all this?

Pesky US Constitution in the way of Mr. Sanders' plans. Education isn't part of the powers granted the national govt. Getting 50 states and the territories to agree will be impossible. Changing the Constitution is even harder.

That’s a bingo!

But this is just an MSM hit job by the deep state. They don’t want any “stinking commies”, not yet anyway.

I You're the one who has said for years the schools are a failure

Public schools specifically, yes, I have.

Effectively, Mr. Sanders is talking about something over which the President can actually impact beyond shedding a light on the issues. The Federal Govt has no legal authority, except through activist judges.

Liberals have been saying this for years. Sanders wants to distribute little red books now?

The current education secretary, Betsy DeVos, is an advocate for

the wealthiest in the largest demographic who are doing whatever they can to ensure their children continue to have educational opportunities not readily available for 'The Others'.

Remember how the Chinese Imperial Examinations were used to maintain class systems.

@burningbush We're looking at a rerun of 2016, complete with a bright red map of the United States on election night.

Which 'we' are you referring to? Trump's US base + Russian trolls - again?

Bernie vs. Biden.
