You do realize all of that money was money that originally belonged to Iran. None of it was American tax Dollars. The money was either money held by Iran, originally money put there by Shah in US financial institutions that was seized by the US during the 1979 Iran Hostage Crisis, or were US Dollars held in foreign banks intended as payments for Iranian oil those nations purchased that were caught by US sanctions that prevented those foreign financial institutions from transferring the money to Iran. Part of the deal with Iran was to allow that money to be transferred to Iran in exchange for their grudging cooperation on their nuclear program.

If Trump hadn't kicked the Iran problem down to the next administration, they wouldn't be dealing with this crap right now.

Just one more example of Trump's faiulres.

Wasn't it internationally confirmed that Iran was actually behaving itself and Trump pulled out of the agreement anyway? Yet another Orange Mess left for Team Biden to clean up...

“We obviously welcome this as a positive step and that’s precisely because we have been clear for weeks now that we are ready to pursue a return to compliance with our (nuclear deal) commitments consistent with Iran also doing the same,” spokesman Ned Price said. “It’s a positive step, especially if it moves the ball forward on that mutual return to compliance that we’ve talked about for a number of weeks now.”

This one's for all the people who keep insisting that Biden is a warmonger who wants to bomb Iran (despite never having said or done anything remotely close to that even once).

The US really needs to shed the retro Great Satan outfit, and start the dialogue again.

In a war with Iran, it would inflame the region. There would be no winners.

“I think that some of it will end up in the hands of the IRGC or other entities, some of which are labeled terrorists,” he told CNBC television in an interview. “

Of course. Who can forget when the Reagan administration sold arms to Iran?

Given that half of the countries still part of the deal have been pretty vocal and consistent that the way for the US to reenter the agreement is to, for the very first time since the deal came into force, get into something close to compliance, and then Iran will stop using the flipside of the 'snapback' clause (The part of the agreement that would have permitted the US etc to sanction Iran if it ever wasn't in compliance) or would then, but ONLY then, not be in compliance, what happens will be interesting.

Indeed, it could be a simple reprise of the Alaska summit, only this time with the US being on the receiving end of the opening lecture.

Will the US politely accept the criticism?

Hopefully we can get the deal back on track. It was good for all parties involved, but the damage Trump made by his miscalculation will be a tall mountain to fix.

Biden has been telegraphing his desire to give in to the Mullahs for the sole purpose of giving benefits to a state sponsor of terror for a promise to wait a few more years before they will get their nukes.

Hey Trump people! Trump lost the election and the Dems are in charge. You should be upset at Trump for his gross behavior and that's why Biden is president now. Why blame Hillary. Biden had me once Trump pushed for Mr. Clean to treat Covid-19. Now Biden is free to return to Obama's policies. Look to Trump for his failures and not Hillary.

not sure this will work better second time around.

when Obama dropped off$1.7 billion in cash

The above parroted by those susceptible to intentional misinformation pushed by far right media sources like Breitbart/Fox/RT etc.

Reasonable people (see how the term is used by legal teams defending the big lieS spreaders who claim reasonable people would NOT believe wack big lieS spread by the far right) know otherwise.

Interesting that there are people who think that the party that the ICJ keeps ruling is in the wrong in its actions against Iran is the one in the right when it comes to the issues between the US and Iran.

The Biden administration on Thursday welcomed a European Union announcement that the participants in the Iran nuclear deal will meet this week to discuss a possible return of the United States to the 2015 accord.

Yep, back to the failed swamp policies of the past.

All the correct actions that Trump took are systematically reversed.

Wolfpack

Biden has been telegraphing his desire to give in to the Mullahs for the sole purpose of giving benefits to a state sponsor of terror for a promise to wait a few more years before they will get their nukes.

Note also the new huge financial agreement between the CCP and the Ayatollha regime. Iran is a Chinese client.

Soft on China, while warmongering in the Middle East and against Russia .... back to the bad days of the neocon-neolib policies.

The US really needs to shed the retro Great Satan outfit, and start the dialogue again.

If Iran or the mullahs can behave like responsible adults, but first we need to verify we need to build up a relationship it’s gonna take time for do US to trust Iran and give them their history that won’t be easy. Baby steps first.

In a war with Iran, it would inflame the region. There would be no winners.

Yeah there would be winners if you have The salad is in the Israel least join forces.

Of course. Who can forget when the Reagan administration sold arms to Iran?

And the Obama administration made a non-binding treaty with Iran. Let’s not forget that as well.

2016 headlines are calling.

Kerry: Some Iran sanctions relief likely to go to terrorists
