If Biden got to become president he wouldn't even know about it.

Trump is not the answer but biden is no alternative, you can be sure of that.

Until some one qualified with understanding and intelligence comes along expect things to bounce off the median barrier like a driverless car down the highway at 3am with a brick on the gas pedal.

I wouldn't expect Biden's foreign policy to be any different from Obama's. However, Biden will likely be tougher on Russia and North Korea in order to increase tensions and arms sales in the region. Closer relations with Israel than Obama had, but perhaps not as close as Trump. No fundamental changes. Not a Trump supporter, but Biden lacks the energy and enthusiasm to make any bold changes in the global arena. In fact, he might be wise to focus on domestic problems and not foreign ones in his first term.

21 ( +22 / -1 )

while speaking warmly of adversaries like North Korea's Kim Jong Un and Russia's Vladimir Putin.

Trump also spoke warmly of Xi after eating 'beautiful chocolate cake' with him. Plus he got all pal-sy with Erdogan. And has spoken 'warmly' of Duterte and Netanyahu. And of course MbS. Something about birds and feathers. hmmm

16 ( +23 / -7 )

halting efforts to oppose the Paris Climate Accord

On climate policy, the choice is never clearer. The contrast between Biden and Trump is not even arguable. If our country is to once again take the lead on saving planet earth, it must get rid of Trump and elect Biden who clearly understands the problem and what needs to be done.

12 ( +21 / -9 )

I expect Biden to listen to what American intelligence says, in stead of what Putin says.

The cult of Deep State believers will be gone from the White House.

Anti-immigration policy will be gone.

8 ( +17 / -9 )

In putting everything on display, Trump has exposed the true arrogance of US imperialism. It has long been US capitalists, their trading partners and compliant regimes first and Trump's narcissistic personality disorder just has him slogan this on a baseball cap and shout it out daily in a tweet.

Biden's shift will be to move more of the communications back into the shadows, use again coercion rather than in-your-face bullying, and employ the democracy and freedom rhetoric while the business of exploitation and appropriation continues as usual.

6 ( +14 / -8 )

It is only Trump who can silence Xi, Putin and other ambitious leaders of the world. Trump is mighty and strong in argument. He has a strong will and character. He he does not compromise easily. Biden is too old and is not as strong as Trump. Democrats liberal policy will invite confusions to the world and U.S. as well. .

-18 ( +7 / -25 )

Under Trump there was no "foreign policy", just winging it with foreign leaders on a whim. The only constant was his clinging fealty to Putin whose Svengali presence seemed to lurk behind Trump's weird, unrequited "love affair" with the Kremlin Goodfellas.

12 ( +16 / -4 )

I don't know how Biden can expect to win by releasing this kind of stuff to the media. Front and centre is covid, China, and all the potential conflucts around the world with CCP roots.

You'd have to be a sado-masochist to want more countries to have nukes (courtesy of China), more flashpoint with China, more unfair trade...yet this is what it entails.

The Biden campaign looks more and more like 'I'll do the opposite of the other guy', no policy, not even imagination.

0 ( +13 / -13 )

Asia: Revert to a traditional U.S. stance supporting the presence of American troops in Japan and South Korea. Biden has also criticized Trump's personal relationship with Kim.

I'm not American, but if I was, I'd want to know his policy on China. That' s the biggest threat we face today

15 ( +16 / -1 )

This will not go well. Iran and Iraq, Australia and Austria all have similar names and he would have 30000+ nukes to play with.

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

Any candidate who will not only maintain our position towards China but even strengthen it by repairing relations with our Nato allies, correct all the stupid mistakes that Trump has made over the last 3 and a half years will get my vote. China has been a global threat for the last decade at least but now, with the U.S. on it's knees with the Wuhan Virus, domestic unrest and political divisiveness, China is openly becoming more bold and obviously intent on taking advantage of the current situation.

We need a President who trusts his own intelligence agencies and military advisors. One who does not put personal economic and political gain openly above the interests of the country.

7 ( +16 / -9 )

And how will US foreign policy look after Biden dodders into office?

WARISPEACE spells it out succinctly in an early post on this thread. After Trump's 4 years of strutting the world stage as the embarrassingly absurd " Emperor with No Clothes", the fog of war and imperialist machinations will immediately return to the Machiavellian corridors of Foggy Bottom.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

If there ever was a fair criticism of the Obama administration it is foreign policy. If Biden's plan is to repeat Obama foreign policy it is a poor plan.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Just like with Obama the "change" is mostly a new paint job. Neo-imperialism in brighter colors. Until I hear Joe swear he is going to reduce America's insanely huge prison population, you know, something SIGNIFICANT, I got no time for him. All he has going for him is that is the lesser evil compared to Trump. Slightly. That's it. But both evils are the enemy of the American people and the rest of the world.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Trump will be gone in November, so we have to think about the next stage.

5 ( +12 / -7 )

Should former Vice President Joe Biden win the White House in November, America will likely be in for a foreign policy about-face as Biden reverses, dismantles or severely curtails many of President Donald Trump's most significant and boldest actions.

This is why he has to be kept out of the White House. Back to business as usual with China. No thanks.

-11 ( +9 / -20 )

The Biden campaign looks more and more like 'I'll do the opposite of the other guy', no policy, not even imagination.

The only matter Trump has been consistent on has been to undo any and everything that Obama did.  His administration is currently in the courts trying to overturn Obama Care which will deprive millions of health care in the middle of a Pandemic.

Personally, I found the policies as described above a sensible approach given what has happened in the last four years.  The big difference between Trump and Biden is that Biden at least has thought out policies whereas Trump has none.  Trump's policy on any matter can change day to day and seem to be more influenced by Fox & Friends then any strung together thoughts.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

What his supporters thinks Trump does:

It is only Trump who can silence Xi, Putin and other ambitious leaders of the world. Trump is mighty and strong in argument. He has a strong will and character. He he does not compromise easily. Biden is too old and is not as strong as Trump. Democrats liberal policy will invite confusions to the world and U.S. as well. .

What Trump actually says about US adversaries:

And we would go back and forth. And then we fell in love. No really. He wrote me beautiful letters."

> the people of Crimea, from what I've heard, would rather be with Russia than where they were.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Trump also spoke warmly of Xi after eating 'beautiful chocolate cake' with him.

But Trump always put the country before China, that’s why he started the tariffs. Biden wouldn’t dare go against China even he ate Chocolate cake.

Plus he got all pal-sy with Erdogan. And has spoken 'warmly' of Duterte and Netanyahu. And of course MbS. Something about birds and feathers. hmmm.

Well, the Dems got all pally and buddy, buddy with Castro, the Mullah’s, the Palestine, the Ukrainians...no difference...

-15 ( +5 / -20 )

That means... China is preparing for more billion-dollar investments into Hunter Biden's company. He will surely regain his seat in Ukraine's Burisma Oil and gas business. His brother's company will certainly not miss the opportunity to gain a windfall as well.

Same foreign policy as the previous POTUS... who managed to gain a 16M seafront home at Martha's Vineyard after leaving office. How do you earn that much money in 8 years of community organizing....(or perhaps quid-pro-quo organizing).

Just asking.

-3 ( +10 / -13 )

A reversal of foreign policy means another plane load of cash to Iran (he approved it,) a wonderful relationship with our friend, China (anybody seen Hunter lately?), and questionable behaviors at public events (no need to go there!) Mr. Biden needs to learn speak for more than 10 minutes without notes and a teleprompter. He also really needs to know that he has to get approval for all "his" decisions from Ms. Veep-to-be and Ms. Pelosi before he presents them to the public. Maybe it is true, "Behind every successful man, there is a more successful woman (women.)

I’m not voting for Trump but it’s ridiculous to say he belongs in a nursing home. He does not have any symptoms of dementia that we can tell. That’s not where the problem is.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

I am not a big Biden fan, but he will try to find a middle ground, and will repair a lot of the damage that Trump has caused and continues to cause.

How? If Biden wins, he won’t be running things and if you think any conservative is going to feel calm when the Dems scorch the country and lather it up in toxic socialist policies it won’t repair anything, let alone the country.

Trump belongs in a nursing home. He continuously displays dementia symptoms, and Republicans continue to look for ways to use him. It’s sad, and I almost feel sorry for Trump. Almost.

You need to flip that around. For all Trump’s faults, he often says nutty things because he believes in what he’s saying. Biden doesn’t even remember half of he incoherent things he says, he’s the biggest gaffe machine. Trump had a pretty tough interview with Chris Wallace the other weak and he’s a tough interviewer, he wants to interview Biden, he refuses, now if Biden is so good and confident, why can he not sit down with Wallace? Because the Biden camp knows he will be unpredictable in any interview. Imagine him on stage with Trump. The Dems know I and that’s why they’re sheltering him because they don’t know how Biden’s mental Motor skills will perform.

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

"This is why he has to be kept out of the White House. Back to business as usual with China. No thanks."

Not happening. Xi Jinping has exposed his raw ambitions to the world. He will never be trusted in the US or much of the EU either. I do not see Mr. Biden being accommodating to China. I expect the opposite. Business as usual with them is forever finished. The Democratic Party has quite a few members of Congress who's parents immigrated from Hong Kong or Taiwan. They hate the CCP and are not going to be inclined to cut the CCP any slack. The Democratic Party will be less likely to let commercial considerations mute criticisms of human rights abuses.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Biden's shift will be to move more of the communications back into the shadows, use again coercion rather than in-your-face bullying, and employ the democracy and freedom rhetoric while the business of exploitation and appropriation continues as usual.

Same old same old, but at least Trump will be gone.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

"A reversal of foreign policy means another plane load of cash to Iran (he approved it,)"

Sigh. This again? The money in question was money in US banks when the US broke diplomatic relations with Iran in 1979 as well as dollar denominated deposits Iran had in other nations banks when the US imposed sanctions on them. The sanctions prevented banks all around the world from letting Iranian companies access their money. One of the terms of the nuclear accord with Iran was to unfreeze their money. No US tax money was involved. Ronald Reagan however did sell the ayatollah's US arms and looked the other way while Israel maintained their F-4s and some other military aircraft in the ayatollah's air force.

OK, Trump supporters, explain this one to us:

Trump 21 Jul:

President Trump doubled down on his criticism of mail-in voting on Tuesday, warning that it would lead to the “most corrupt election” in U.S. history.

“Mail-In Voting, unless changed by the courts, will lead to the most CORRUPT ELECTION in our Nation’s History! #RIGGEDELECTION,” Trump tweeted Tuesday.

Trump: 1 Aug:

After railing about “fraudulent” mail-in ballots without any basis in fact, President Donald Trump bizarrely urged Americans on Friday to use absentee ballots — which are mailed in.

“People should go and they should vote — or do it absentee ballot,” he told reporters Friday, a day after he floated delaying the election.

Absentee ballots “are great because absentee ballots you have to go through a process to get ’em,” Trump explained. “It’s actually a great thing, absentee ballots. I’m going to be voting absentee,” Trump told reporters.

This sounds like more of; "Masks are Anti-American", then the following week; "Masks are patriotic"....

Need any more proof your guy is schizo?

Same old same old, but at least Trump will be gone.

Anything is possible, but I doubt it, not to mention Wall St., business investors, most entrepreneurs, energy sector, law enforcement, allowing for school choice, overwhelmingly will not be voting for Biden, so that’s a huge crucial opportunity where the Dems could seize on, bu they squandered it.

Biden's comments downplaying China threat to U.S. fire up pols on both sides…….

“China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man,” the former vice president said in Iowa, drawing the ire of lawmakers like Bernie Sanders and Mitt Romney.

Clearly incorrect and false - as is the rest of this post.

Biden was saying that China wouldn't "eat our lunch" because we are stronger, more diverse, respect individual right and freedoms, and would therefore ultimately triumph in any competition.

On the other hand, we have Trump who has fallen all over himself saying nice things about President Xi, and has been a business partner of China for years, giving them millions to make his Trump Collection clothing line in Chinese sweatshop factories, cheating US garment workers out of jobs...

Just go to Thrumpstore.com and by a tie, shirt, or bag - and send your money to the CCP....

Just because Trump uses anti-China rhetoric to try to demarcate the American nation, which then puts meat on the legal bones of his legitimacy, this does not mean he or the Republican Party's financial backers dislike China. Indeed, they love Chinese labour (though less so as wages rise) and Chinese consumers. Of course they will uses their political pawns to put down rival Chinese businesses, such as Huawei, as competition hurts profits. Growing competition for global resources, which drives up prices, also creates some animosity, but this is good for the military industries in both countries. Biden's rhetoric may differ, but the Democrats are also mostly pro-China when it comes to the economy. Their embrace of neoliberalism shows they little care about the conditions of US labour.

If we think seriously about the extent to which our lives have become dependent over several decades on cheap Chinese labour and now the buying power of Chinese consumers and tourists, we are all lovin' it. Despise the Chinese regime (as we should also the US) for all its human rights abuses, but still acknowledge that China bailed out the global economy after the debt-bubble collapse of 2007. Just look at the statistics for natural resources used to build new towns and cities. Such are the contradictions of capitalism.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Trump and the right have been anti-china in name only. They're as anti China, as China is communist.

0 ( +8 / -8 )

Biden eyes major U.S. foreign policy shifts if he wins

True headline for once. Biden eyes a return to dependence on China and to illegal foreign wars. Like the CCP, vote Biden.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

I’m not voting for Trump but it’s ridiculous to say he belongs in a nursing home.

Right on. He belongs in a padded cell in a Supermax from where he can zoom in his defense in the string of cases to be litigated after he loses the protection of the presidency. Biden's policy will not include offering Trump clemency for his unprecedented exposure of a US president's power to circumvent or trash the Constitution and endanger the security of the country by sacrificing foreign policy and fair elections to naked self-interest.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Biden was saying that China wouldn't "eat our lunch" because we are stronger, more diverse, respect individual right and freedoms, and would therefore ultimately triumph in any competition.

We are less strong, being diverse is now the ultimate sin if you’re not for BLM, we don’t even have respect for our law enforcement let alone each other and freedom? Anything you say will get you banned or canceled, you are not allowed to think, can’t have an opinion, they want to take your rights, destroy and make you a felon for defending yourself, we can’t beat anyone in competition because Democrats won’t even accept China as our enemy. So yes, the Chinese would eat our lunch and then some.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

I am afraid, US economic and political power is waning, as the Government of China has become more in emboldened to apply pressure. I support you can always fall back and console yourself lincolnman, that President Trump can always be relied upon to be your political bogey man.

Who Is Winning the US-China Power Battle?

https://thediplomat.com/2020/06/who-is-winning-the-us-china-power-battle/

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Joe Biden could hasten this demise

I 110% definitely agree with that.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

But Trump found it hard to make swift changes. Academics often say that American foreign policy is like an aircraft carrier: easy to order a wholesale change of direction from the bridge but far more difficult and time-consuming to alter course.

I stopped reading this fluff piece here.

What academics?

Why is a Japanese news paper running a DNC fluff piece?

Annnd clearly these people have never driven an aircraft carrier lol

This is why he has to be kept out of the White House. Back to business as usual with China. No thanks.

Can't happen. The US position towards China now is bipartisan in Washington DC and shared by most of the populace regardless of political affiliation.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

I wonder still why everyone seems to think Obama was such a great President. He was the one with the historic chance to help the black peoples standing in the US and he did nothing for them. He did not close Guantanamo in 8 years. Only the health “ system” he improved a bit. For the rest, he took care of himself and still is great in saying and doing nothing in a very eloquent way. And he sustained the buddy buddy systems with nice cosy jobs at WHO, UN etc..

Trump is getting rid of many of these talk and dinner only organisations doing nothing except to sustain themselves.

Biden will go back to kiss the backside of China and to find new nice cushions for fans and supporters to rest their expensive backsides on at All the international no use agencies and organisations. And he is no longer in full mental control, that is obvious. Biden is worse after bad. We need to stand up against China. Now!

We need a US President who realised that. Stop them now or learn to speak mandarin and to burn books. Emperor Xi is dangerous

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

I am afraid, US economic and political power is waning, as the Government of China has become more in emboldened to apply pressure. I support you can always fall back and console yourself lincolnman, that President Trump can always be relied upon to be your political bogey man.

I agree with your indictment of your President - US economic and political power has plummeted over the past three years. How'd you like those GDP and unemployment numbers released this week? Pulling out of treaties and international organizations, insulting allies, cutting and running in Syria....all Trump's bafoonishness that have made us weaker...

And all of that happened over the past three years, including 154K (to date) Americans dead, economy a smoking hole, unemployment at historic highs, the deficit the highest ever.....

Excellent summary of the Trump legacy...

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Biden may be a reasonable man. Easy to expect what he will do and nobody and no rogue nation is afraid of him. Trump is unpredictable. He is afraid of nobody. This characteristics is important as a leader of strong America. Pompeo is right in saying if they do not change China, China will change U.S. If not Trump, make Pompeo the president.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

And all of that happened over the past three years, including 154K (to date) Americans dead, economy a smoking hole, unemployment at historic highs, the deficit the highest ever.....

Which didn’t happen before February, but anyway, Biden would be China’s best gateway to completely take over the country, that will be his legacy, if he even finishes a first time, which I don’t even think will happen, but you never know...

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

"Just like with Obama the "change" is mostly a new paint job. Neo-imperialism in brighter colors. Until I hear Joe swear he is going to reduce America's insanely huge prison population, you know, something SIGNIFICANT, I got no time for him."

California reduced its prison population in part due to voter approved ballot initiatives that reduced sentences and in part because Federal Judges forced the state to do so. The state fought the Federal courts all the way to the US Supreme court twice and lost both times. Nonetheless there is public pressure now to revisit those changes in the law that reduced the prison sentences, particularly a change that eliminated the threat of a jail term for drug possession. Without the possibility of a jail sentence, arrestees are not completing court ordered rehab. Be careful what you wish for lady. You might get it. Reducing the prison population seemed like a great idea. Now there are regrets. Proposition 20 on the November ballot seeks to repeal some of these changes and adds two new crimes, serial theft and organized commercial theft.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

He will listen to intelligence reports and briefing. That is FAR, FAR better than the current president.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

"He did not close Guantanamo in 8 years."

If you remember each year Congress tied the Presidents hands regarding Guantanamo by including language in each year's defense appropriations act prohibiting sending terrorists held in Guantanamo to prisons in the US. Members of Congress from both parties were under pressure from constituents not to allow foreign terrorists be moved to a prison in their district, fearing a breakout or some such.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

This election like the last one is the Dems to lose, and again it looks like they may just do a repeat of 2016.

Despite waning support for Trump all it will take to rally Republicans and independents back to Trump is one unacceptable move and judging from the choices Biden seems to have listed as possible running mate the Dems are about to do it again.

None of the women by he seems to be looking at are acceptable not even to the most anti Trump Republican or even most independents,

Most are so polarising they will nearly guarantee most Republicans and independents will rather vote Trump than risk any of these women get in.

I am not saying this is right I am just pointing out the reality.

Dems are again going to chose political correctness over actually winning the election.

I really hope I am wrong but last time I was right.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

He will listen to intelligence reports and briefing.

That’ll be a first if he can focus that long, but yes, Biden will do as the Democrats tell him to do.

That is FAR, FAR better than the current president.

I know bucking the Washington Entrenched establishment Is a major crime.

Joe Biden

https://joebiden.com/

Which of Joe Biden campaign policy will affect your economic well being for better or for worse?

There has to be life after Donald Trump.

It is a question being a tad more objective

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Even in the comments section of a Biden article, Trump is mentioned way more. No enthusiasm for his candidacy. The narrative that Biden is bad but supposedly not quite as bad as Trump wont get him elected.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Doesn't matter who will win the US Presidential Election 2020, I hope that the US would continue to counter China's intellectual theft, unfair trade, aggressive rise and expansion in the Southeast Asia Sea and around the world. Even though I do not agree with Trump on many important issues, his tough stance on China is admirable and should be acknowledged by Biden in case the latter won.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Not sure if the OFFICIAL American policy will change, but given that the unofficial, but, none the less, effective American foreign policy towards South Africa underwent a dramatic shift after the American Civil Rights protests changed American domestic policy, the BLM movement becoming mainstream has to be worrisome for the Israeli regime.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Biden eyes major U.S. foreign policy shifts if he wins

So I guess the whole illegal immigration, stop the wall, open the borders, didn’t play to well in the DNC think tanks predictions for winning the election. Back to foreign policy issues.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

I wonder still why everyone seems to think Obama was such a great President.

Because he was a centrist who tried to find a balance between the interests of the right and the left.

The problem is that the right have become extremists, and have gone so far right, that from their perspective, anything centrist or left of that looks to be extreme left.

People think Obama was great, because non-extremists see him for what he was. Not what other extremists would say he was.

-1 ( +8 / -9 )

Biden has been on wrong side of foreign policy issues for decades. I know it is hard to believe but if he wins the Presidency, he will go down as the worst President in History. He is a life long failed politician, Trump is not a politician, he ran for office once and won the Presidency. Biden is a loser not a winner, he doesn't have the stamina, vision or brains to shape foreign policy in the world we live in today. The Dems will destroy there own party just like Trumps Republic! Mark my words, the world will be a MUCH more dangerous place with a President "Joe" Biden.....

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

Biden is definetly NOT Obama, thats for sure.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I wonder still why everyone seems to think Obama was such a great President.

Most Liberals do, but they also believed LBJ was a great President as well, so......

He was the one with the historic chance to help the black peoples standing in the US and he did nothing for them.

Exactly.

He did not close Guantanamo in 8 years. Only the health “ system” he improved a bit. For the rest, he took care of himself and still is great in saying and doing nothing in a very eloquent way. And he sustained the buddy buddy systems with nice cosy jobs at WHO, UN etc..

Bingo!

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Biden's solutions will entail him enriching his family and friends just exactly like Trump. But Biden will also stick his head up the CCP's butt.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

We have millions of unemployed.

We have a record deficit.

We have the biggest number of coronavirus victims.

We have made enemies with our allies.

We have encouraged every racist and sexist.

We have people being made homeless.

We have a weakening dollar.

Hey folks, maybe you like this. I’m voting for Biden’s rescue dog and Biden.

And millions more will be in the Democrats take control

And the debt will exceed anything the Trump Administration has made.

The death rate overall is going down (which is a great thing) despite the increased infections and yet, the media is nor focusing on that critical issue.

You need to be friends first before you can call them an ally.

Democrats and the media are pushing the race and gender issue, in fact, since Floyd’s death, the only thing the liberal networks talk about is race.

Correction: Democrat policies have increased homelessness and that rate is quickly accelerating.

If we keep printing money the way the Dems want and with their programs of increased entitlements, the follow will weaken. People need to go back to work and not expect the government to pay your way. So based on that, voting for Biden will be asking for America’s quick demise and turning it into another Venezuela.

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

The Dems will destroy there own party just like Trumps Republic! Mark my words, the world will be a MUCH more dangerous place with a President "Joe" Biden.....

compared to the Republican party, whatever is left of it, Trumps dictatorship more like it,

Trump has no foreign policy, allies are moving away from America , that helps Russia and China, Trump is single handedly destroying NATO , remind me again whos the more dangerous president.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

The Dems will destroy there own party just like Trumps Republic! Mark my words, the world will be a MUCH more dangerous place with a President "Joe" Biden.....

Trump has made more charging the taxpayer to play at his own resorts in 3yrs than Biden has made in his entire life, no president in history has profited from the presidency more than Trump, Trumps $300million CCP loan approval, Ivankas CCP trademarks will make her millions all the while shes in the president's administration. Remind me again which family is enriching themselves and has their head up the CCP butt!?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

And millions more will be in the Democrats take control

yet Obama brought unemployment down from 10% to 4% in his 8yrs.

And the debt will exceed anything the Trump Administration has made.

$10trillion wiped from the markets another $6 trillion in bailouts and unemployment welfare,

add to that a record 1st term $5+ trillion added to the national debt.

The last 3 market collapses 1987 2008 2020 well over $10trillion in losses add to that $6trillion in wars Iraq, Afghanistan, Gulf all under Republican presidents. History and facts show the Republican party has the least fiscally responsible administrations, so yeah your assumptions are just that

6 ( +8 / -2 )

I wonder still why everyone seems to think Obama was such a great President.

Most Liberals do, but they also believed LBJ was a great President as well, so......

It’s probably best to look at approval ratings when leaving office. Obama scored reasonably well despite revolting partisan trash like the birthers and religious crackpots who thought he was the anti-Christ.

I know some like yourself take a more elitist view and prefer the view of academics like your still unnamed non-partisan historians who view Bush 2 as a success despite him leaving office with atrocious approval ratings.

What do your non-partisan historians think of Obama and LBJ?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Avenger

On climate policy, the choice is never clearer. The contrast between Biden and Trump is not even arguable.

The "green deal" in Bidens platform means relocating manufacturing to China and massive dependency on China for things like rare earths (the extraction of which are an environmental disaster in itself --- but hey, it does not happen in my backyard). If you want that, support Biden. The CCP agrees.

yet Obama brought unemployment down from 10% to 4% in his 8yrs.

These Marxist today and that even close to what the Democrats were back then and they still were bad and liberals continue to talk about when Obama first came into office, that was true, but the same doesn’t hold true for the last four years of his administration where are you at the lowest labor participation rate presiding over the highest corporate tax rate, not to mention massive baby boomers retiring, so yeah on that front it does give the illusion unemployment is down when these people take themselves out of the workforce.

$10trillion wiped from the markets another $6 trillion in bailouts and unemployment welfare,

But Biden will exceed that when he implements his $37 trillion GND entitlement and income redistribution plans. Weakening the dollar and just giving people money won’t change things, but go ahead and take as much money from Bezos as you can.

The last 3 market collapses 1987 2008 2020 well over $10trillion in losses add to that $6trillion in wars Iraq, Afghanistan, Gulf all under Republican presidents.

And yet the Democrats supported it, Harry Reid did For sure.

History and facts show the Republican party has the least fiscally responsible administrations, so yeah your assumptions are just that.

Well to a point that is a little bit true, but compared to what the Democrats are in general terms fiscally speaking they’re still fiscally conservative overall there any Democrat.

It’s probably best to look at approval ratings when leaving office. Obama scored reasonably well despite revolting partisan trash like the birthers and religious crackpots who thought he was the anti-Christ.

Hmmm...according to most of the liberal Suck up media, of course they loved and praised this president.

What do your non-partisan historians think of Obama and LBJ?

Not very good.

The problem with the Republicans is that the answer to every question is to cut taxes. Cutting taxes makes sense, maybe, during a recession. If you want me to write out the Equation of National Income, something every economist has burned into their brain I will but increasing government spending and running a deficit during a decline in GDP is about the fastest way to reverse the decline. However, when growth returns a smart government has to raise taxes somewhere to raise enough revenue to both operate the government AND pay back the debt incurred during the recession. Our Congress never does that. Instead the Republicans say "oh, the economy is growing? Better cut taxes". Sometimes they even claim cutting taxes raises revenue but there is no data anywhere in the world to back that claim, and the recent experience in Kansas is a great example of what happens when taxes are cut too much. California is often, and wrongly, assailed for having high taxes. Their overall tax burden as a percent of income is within 1% of the national average and primarily due to having the lowest property taxes in the US. However California enters this recession with about $20 billion stashed away in a rainy day fund. Their budget situation is not as dire as that of other states thanks to that awful, terrible, lefty governor we had, Jerry Brown. You all might have forgotten that the last two years of the Clinton administration the budgets for 1999 and 2000 had very small surpluses and the prospect, had Mr. Bush not cut taxes, of growing surpluses that could have been used to pay down the national debt or add to the Social Security Trust Fund. But no, Mr. Bush thought cutting taxes was more important than paying down the national debt.

I do not like any choice. Again!

Republicans (dream team)

Cruz-POTUS/Gowdy-VPOTUS.

Democratic. (dream team)

Mouton-POTUS/Ryan-VPOTUS.

As I hear that song in my head by the Everly brothers..... dream....Al I have too is drea....

Please party leaders. Up the youngsters.

Biden is too to old (I think on the verge of Alzheimer's the poor man. Trump needs to go (Moron politically) and (way too hostile). The experiment failed miserably.

I am really down with anyone on either side as a Republican at this point that will get rid of Peolosi/Trump and flush the toilet on everything the last four years since we saw Hillary Clinton supporters screaming in the streets in rage and disappointment. Its time for normalcy to return. More than ever we do not need bipartisan policy shamming and rejections with this Virus and 150? 160,000 dead? Everything has to be looked at here.

The time has come to put our differences aside. Dismantle BLM movement. Lets launch MRAM movement. Mutual Respect for All Matters. As well many other of our misgivings The last four years. And look. I will even admit I defended Trump and still do on somethings. But the with this Virus and China's aggression. We really need to make American great and strong again for everyone.

You may call me a dreamer , but I am not the only one.

Cant we all just get along?

Are you not just sick and tired of the divide?

Peace and Love!

Bill Clinton was the last president to balance the books. Bush 2, Obama and Trump were hammered by true fiscal conservatives ( not part-time types ).

Can we have the names of your non-partisan historians who view Obama and LBJ negatively but view Bush 2 as a success?

We had a different economy then, you know how much gas was in those days?

Yes, I was living in the US when Clinton was in office. Are you saying it’s impossible to balance the books nowadays? Trump said he’d do it but then went nuts with the credit card even before Covid hit.

No chance of the names of these non-partisan historians?
