Yes, because having more information in order to better target assistance is planting seeds of division and racial tension and not being more efficient.
Conservatives need to stop their obsession with race and get on board with helping those who need it.
Kevin Hudson
It's not necessary to know race in order to direct assistance to where it is needed. You simply need to know where the level and rate of infections for given areas. Allocation should be based on need, not race.
Chip Star
Knowing the race of those most affected allows them to be targeted for assistance.
Agreed, but race can help us determine the need. It can also assist in monitoring those groups hit hardest.
Blacklabel
The virus spreads by location not by race.
Chip Star
Correct, but you’re forgetting a couple of important points in your rush to disagree with liberals:
If it disproportionately affects a certain race, members of that race in a place where the virus is spreading are at a higher risk.
Not always, but quite often, races tend to congregate in the same places. This is not to say that all Indians people congregate at pubs or live next to each other; it is merely saying that races tend to gather together.
Blacklabel
Every single person of every race is at higher risk in a place where a virus is spreading.
How does knowing the racial percentages at this time help in any way to defeat this virus?
Wouldn’t it just cause so called “communities of color” to be quarantined and cut off from places less likely to be infected? That’s not what we want.
Chip Star
So you’re privy to info that hasn’t been made public.
I’ve already explained this
Blacklabel
No we simply suspect this;
If any data finds that any racial group is adversely affected, Dems will try to legislatively adjust the response to favor that group. immediately push for extra money, special programs, additional benefits for this group over all others.
Then claim that extra response as the reason why these groups must vote for them in perpetuity. All about pandering for the vote. been going on in various forms for decades.
Blacklabel
Plus it starts race baiting such as this from white Dem politicians. None of this helps ANYONE and has not even been proven by data yet.
"I just can’t hear about one more black health care worker, police officer or bus driver die while getting a barrage of complaints from white folks outraged because they can’t go golfing."
"The high rates of infection and death within our African-American population from #COVIDー19 is staggering and horrific. It further establishes how AA’s are treated like garbage when it comes to equal opportunity and access to health care, housing, education and employment."

You keep forgetting, race is the only Ace card that works for Democrats. Why would they not use it? It’s the only thing that can give them a political edge. They’re going to make Biden push the issue once again.

Well, while it's true that people pf color are more effected by the virus, that's about to change...
With Trump and his supporters calling for an prematurely end to social distancing and other measures to fight the virus, we'll see a shift...
The key identifier in the future for those most effected by the virus will be those wearing a MAGA hat or a "Q" T shirt....
bass4funk
That is not what the President said. He’s always maintained a social distance policy and has been relentlessly pushing to uphold that. He has been repeatedly saying that he wants the Country to get back to work and “certain industries” should go back and he’s right. You cannot completely shut the country down on every level, it’s unsustainable. America needs to eat, needs supplies, needs maintenance no matter what.
Busby
Hmmm, not what he said on Fox News...
President Trump said Tuesday during a Fox News virtual townhall that he wants the country’s economy re-opened by Easter amid questions over how long people should stay home and businesses should remain closed to slow the spread of coronavirus.

so this is not inflammatory race based pandering at all? just straight reporting? i have never heard any straight reporting claim people are treated like garbage and then include housing, education and employment into something that has nothing to do with any of those.

Perhaps blacks are affected more because their bodies produce less vitamin D. They should tell everyone, but especially blacks, to take extra vitamin D.
Or blacks are perhaps more likely to be uninsured, so hospitals are more likely to "misdiagnose" their condition as being Covid-19-related to ensure that they will be paid for the treatment.
But I believe that Biden's motivations are completely unrelated to the above, he is just being a typical divisive liberal.
bass4funk
You are taking the presidents words out of context, he did say that indeed, but he did not mean every sector in the country, he specifically meant certain industries that need to re-open and they should and he’s absolutely right, this is the reason why when he says these things Wall Street responds positively, that’s what you want in a president, you don’t want to hunker down and completely stop the country, it is unsustainable.
Busby
I'm taking it out of context? I just cut and pasted what was in the Fox News article - if anyone is taking it out of context its your favorite news source. Maybe its not so fair and balanced, huh?
And as for Wall Street, the WSJ doesn't think its very positive...

Chipstar:
So you want him to target Chinatown? After all the clamouring about not calling the virus Chinese? Really, trying to play the race card in the middle of a health crisis is pretty cheap.
bass4funk
Well, it is, but that’s not the point. The point is liberals as usual try to take his words out of context, I know they need the clicks, we get it, but he never said, he wanted ever y industry back at work.
And as for Wall Street, the WSJ doesn't think its very positive...
Beg to differ...

Chip Star
No, and that’s not a logical inference from my post.
I agree, so I’m not sure why you are playing the race card.
Lastly, it’s Chip Star; two words.

I dont think it is Bidens idea (I am doubting that he is coming up with many ideas these days). I think it is a safe prediction that the coming Biden-Harris campaign will be largely centered on Harris (since she would be obviously the intellectually dominant part there), and she wants to play the race card.
