The cult leader who instigated the attack on democracy, and the cult followers who committed this heinous act, should be charged with manslaughter or murder.

Furthermore, the cost of repairs to the physical damage done to the U.S. Capitol should be paid by the cult leader directly to the U.S. Federal Government.

The damage done to We the People of the United States of America is beyond measure.

Making the USA Sane Again will take decades, if ever.

Police Officer Brian Sicknick

RIP Officer Sicknick.

Qanon and others in extreme right, white supremacist groups, the same violent people who attacked the capitol trying to help their Trump steal the election, are now claiming the violence of the failed coup has been exaggerated by what they call 'the media', one of their many demons.

The far right and their political leaders continue pointing responsibility away at some of their other demons like Antifa and BLM. They're unwilling to be held accountable. Their conspiracy theories are getting even more wack. Aliens firing lasers to start forest fires? Shape shifting alien reptiles? And they are under the umbrella of the Republican Party.

7 ( +15 / -8 )

All over a lie.

15 ( +20 / -5 )

The republicans Will forget as soon as the impeachment trial begins

9 ( +15 / -6 )

here were 4 other martyrs, including a woman with 14 years of dedicated military service who was shot in the back even though she was unarmed.

Make no mistakes, all deaths are tragic, and all the responsibility of a few who were attacking democracy. With that said, the police officer was defending it.

12 ( +17 / -5 )

It’s good to see that the dems are now suddenly in favor of law and order and accountability and personal responsibility and the police.

It’s a shame the republicans aren’t. Still at least they are now all about healing and unity, which is nice.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

@Burningbush. The woman was a domestic terrorist. End of story.

13 ( +19 / -6 )

There were 4 other martyrs, including a woman with 14 years of dedicated military service

Martyr? Get real. The woman was a dedicated, violent anti-American domestic terrorist, as was every other rioter attacking the USA.

Rest in Peace to the Police Officers.

17 ( +20 / -3 )

Noidall: I’ll never forget how entire police departments were vilified and thrown under the bus last summer. It’s good to see that the dems are now suddenly in favor of law and order and accountability and personal responsibility and the police.

Nice dodge.

“For anyone who makes the argument that when it comes to Jan 6 it's time for America to get over it, I'm going to remember one police officer who gave his life to protect me and to protect this Capitol,” Durbin said.

Sad that a large part of the GOP cares more about honoring dead confederate generals, who fought against America, than a police officer who fought for America!!!

11 ( +13 / -2 )

The dems’ refusal to accept the results of the 2016 election opened the floodgates.

The democrats fully accepted the results of the 2016 election. Hillary Clinton publicly conceded and called Donald Trump on the night of the election to congratulate him. Stop trying to rewrite history, it will not work.

Play seditious games, win seditious prizes.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

I will never forget what Q n'numb did. What a bunch of morons. It makes you think about what Pres. Jefferson said about education being essential for a vibrant democracy. The U.S. is failing in that department right now..

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Apparently half of the GOP house republicans gave a standing ovation to greene.

So one of the people who actively encouraged the attack on The Capitol, resulting in the officer's death, is a hero for half of the GOP!!!

Wow, just wow.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

Of course you’ll say they were uneducated morons who were brainwashed. But that’s not scientific. Especially from people who routinely implore follow the science.

Do you think that renaming a park is unscientific, but believing that every single Democratic politician worships the literal, actual devil and drinks the blood of children is scientific?

There were 4 other martyrs, including a woman with 14 years of dedicated military service who was shot in the back even though she was unarmed.

Don't group them together. Four of them were in the insane lynch mob trying to hunt down and murder elected lawmakers. The other was a police officer trying to stop that mob.

All of a sudden the same people on JT that felt the police are the problem, over abusive, racists and should be defunded and now praising the police? Which is it? You guys really confuse me. Either you support the police or you don’t or only when it’s politically expedient, which is it?

Don't group them together. Four of them were in the insane lynch mob trying to hunt down and murder elected lawmakers.

Both sides had this happen to them the same disgusting threats, it doesn’t matter who you support or which political fence you’re on, No one should be threatened, you threaten anyone with physical and bodily harm or kill and caught in the attempt, you need to go to prison-period.

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

Either you support the police or you don’t or only when it’s politically expedient, which is it?

Supporting police brutality or supporting police protecting democracy? Is it really that difficult?

10 ( +11 / -1 )

How about Trump and his ignorant supporters? Are they completely free of fault?

The only people who are at fault are the people who showed up, broke in, and used violence. Blaming anyone else is simply ridiculous.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

The cause of his death has yet to be determined!

Sicknick collapsed a while after being hit on the head with a fire extinguisher and "he may have ingested a chemical substance during the riot that may have contributed to his death".

Did someone poison him?

-16 ( +0 / -16 )

though the cause of his death has not been determined.

Covid19?

Sorry, what? I didn't see two sides violently attacking the Capital and trying to murder lawmakers, which is what this article is about. Just ONE side did that. The other side of that confrontation was members of congress just trying to do their job and police officers also just trying to do their job. This is not a "both sides" issue. One side, the Trump side, acting alone did this.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

How about Trump and his ignorant supporters? Are they completely free of fault?

You can blame Trump for maybe holding the rally too close to the Capitol, especially knowing how agitated the crowd was, it could have been done somewhere else, other than that, it was the idiots that took it upon themselves to riot and do what they did. The people committing the acts were responsible.

-14 ( +3 / -17 )

There were 4 other martyrs, including a woman with 14 years of dedicated military service who was shot in the back even though she was unarmed.

She broke through the windows of a locked door and advanced on police behind the barricades into an area she had no authorization to enter.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

Did someone poison him?

Bear spray or pepper spray probably, though I also saw at least one instance of a fire extinguisher being used against Capital Police.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

I was thinking the same too when they were tearing down statues of the founding fathers

I was thinking the same too when they were tearing down statues of the Confederate founding fathers and their generals, America's most infamous traitors.

There, I fixed it for you.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Someone needs to figure out who were the anonymous posters who started the whole Q-Anon thing and sue them into lifetime poverty. They have libeled every Democrat in the US with their lies about pedophilia and cannibalism. Exposing them and bringing them to justice is crucial to preventing more of this kind of nonsense. Likewise lawsuits against politicians and other who spread lies about voter fraud.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

The people committing the acts were responsible.

"Maybe" we can also blame Trump for:

Making that crowd so agitated in the first place by spewing nothing but lies for months about the election being stolen from him when he just plain lost fair and square;

Further inflaming the agitated crowd with these same lies in his speech to them and then and explicitly telling them to march on Congress with full knowledge of how agitated they were, which they then proceeded to do;

Doing nothing at all to even try to stop them once the attack proper started, instead happily watching the events unfold on TV;

Telling the violent mob that he "loved" them literally as they were in the process of trying to hunt down and murder his own vice president.

This is not an exhaustive list. You can squawk on about how hypocritical the libs are in relation to police all you want, but your argument is not going to be persuasive if you keep insisting on bringing it up in the context of you defending a guy who just unleashed a violent mob that murdered and injured dozens of police officers.

Democratic Sen Dick Durbin of Illinois said on the Senate floor after the ceremony that he will remember Sicknick during the trial, and the loss that his family has endured..

This police officer is now part of a narrative which suits the left..once the de-funding starts he will be all but forgotten..the loss to all those families will be un-imaginable.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

It’s a shame the republicans aren’t. Still at least they are now all about healing and unity, which is nice.

Correction..It’s a shame the democrats aren’t, and as is clear from the left posters..they do not want any healing and unity..as per them that will never happen.

Unity is not defined as "giving the GOP whatever they want and letting them lead even though they lost the election and attempted to overthrow democracy".

The GOP, through its facilitation of Trump's bigotry, hatred, and seditious behaviour, is responsible for the greatest assault on American democracy in the modern age. The onus is on them to disavow the lunatics and bigots in their own ranks,* and work to help the American citizen. I doubt this will happen though.

*Sadly, they seem to make up the majority of the GOP at this point.

You sure don’t understand that the rest of us..

The rest of us....now that's a revelation right there..exactly what I thought.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

No trump/Bannon/Giuliani political stunt is going to distract from this police officer losing their life to defend "Democracy" from trump and the rest of the idiotic GOP-supporting insurrectionists!

BLM!

zichi

No police officer was killed by the protestors.

David Dorn was an ex police officer. And how about the several police that were blinded permantly by high.powered laser used by the Antifa "protestors" ? Does that count at all for you?

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Are there any similar ceremonies for the Trump supporters who got killed during the riot

People don't typically honor traitors. Well, the GOP do, but normal people, I mean.

And how about the several police that were blinded permantly by high.powered laser used by the Antifa "protestors" ? Does that count at all for you?

I can't find any source for this. Are you misremembering the number of protestors blinded by the police?

6 ( +8 / -2 )

The GOP, through its facilitation of Trump's bigotry, hatred, and seditious behaviour, is responsible for the greatest assault on American democracy..

The greatest assault on American democracy was the 6-7 months of looting, arson and rioting and de-funding of the police..a.k.a no law and order..the chances of recovering from that assault are pretty slim..

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Noidall:. I was thinking the same too when they were tearing down statues of the founding fathers and renaming parks and schools this summer.

Nice dodge again. I think at this point the Capitol insurrection is something you won't be talking about, despite it being the story on this and future posts.

It's probably best to sit out and defend their violence with distraction.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

The greatest assault on American democracy was the 6-7 months of looting, arson and rioting and de-funding of the police..a.k.a no law and order..the chances of recovering from that assault are pretty slim..

It was actually the attempt to assassinate duly elected officials and end US democracy by illegally prevent the confirmation of the rightfully elected President. HTH.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

It's sickening to see solemn GOP crocodiles wallowing in the Capitol swamp shedding tears for the slain officer while talking out of the other side of their mouths to defend the vile conduct and gutter language of MTG who has always enjoyed the special approval of their rogue leader indicted for inciting the riot and whom they also still so passionately cleave to. It's time for a thorough spring clean of the Capitol.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Someone needs to figure out who were the anonymous posters who started the whole Q-Anon thing and sue them into lifetime poverty.

Well, if you want to do that then you should do the same with the people that keep talking about this entire Russian collusion conspiracy, people are going to see what they wanna say and the less people have access to be able to see what they want to say and have the right to say what they want to say, you were going to see more conspiracy theories pile up, because people are going to try to find some answers someway and if liberals don’t like it they give them equal playing equal access and equal fairness and treatment and then maybe they don’t have to come up with Questionable conspiracy theories or go on Twitter and rant all the time.

They have libeled every Democrat in the US with their lies

and vice versa.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

None of this “counts”

Yes, it all counts and stop moving the goalposts, either you can get them all axle violence or you cherry pick one them.
