The actual news from the speech is that Biden still won’t take any responsibility for anything.
everything is still the fault of the “global pandemic” or Putin. Even things that happened before Putin even invaded. Inflation was way up before that even happened, people know this. Absent that just attack Republicans for something.
which is odd considering he ran on taking responsibility for things.
Ultra MAGA!

Nice spin, Ricky.
The fact is the entire world economy is in a slump due to Covid and Putin’s war. Biden and the Democrats have done a lot to alleviate the pain, and could be doing more were the GOP not so keen on using this slump for political gain.
Tell us again what the Republican plan is other than lowering taxes on the donor class or cutting the child tax credit?
plasticmonkey
What action should Biden have taken?
Blacklabel
say that his economic policies and the ineptitude of his administration are responsible for 40 year highs of inflation, record high gas, negative GDP and the stock market lower than when Trump left.
the truth. Then resign in disgrace and failure. “He did that”.
plasticmonkey
@black
You have offered no proposal to address the economic problems.
Again, what action should Biden have taken to tackle inflation?
Blacklabel
Take responsibility for it. Then solve it.
its his problem to solve, not mine.
Blacklabel
But let’s me help him.
focus on the problems of all Americans instead of all the far left nonsense. this Ultra MAGA thing is a weak distraction.
Stop spending trillions in new spending plans for things we don’t want. Stop sending 44 billion to Ukraine. Lower prices for all, not increasing subsidies for some in a vote buying attempt, stop spending money we don’t have. Deal with the reality of fossil fuels.

ahem.....enforce the US/China trade deal negotiated by Trump? For a start....

My favorite quotes?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Mr. President, why do you believe so many Americans believe that your administration is not doing enough to combat inflation? And do you believe that you and your administration bear some measure of responsibility for the inflation that we're seeing across the country?
BIDEN: First is, we're in power. That's the first thing. And you justifiably, right, we control all three branches of government. Well, we don't really. We have 50-50 in the Senate. You need 60 votes to get major things done. I've been pushing the things I've been proposing here. And you've heard me speak today, since I got an office. And I need to get 60 votes to be able to even pass, number one.
Number two, I think that, you know, it's - they're not focused, there's it all they're focused on, understandably, is the problem they're facing. They get a 5.5 percent raise an average raise in their salaries. And yet inflation exceeds that. And they look around the world. And they know that a lot of it's extremely complicated. And so, they're frustrated, and I don't blame them. I really don't blame them.
There's a lot we have to do. And but, you know, as well, I shouldn't say you. I think what I have to do is explain in simple, straightforward language, what's going on, like, reason why 30 percent of the inflation last year is because automobiles cost more. Why they cost more? They couldn't get the computer chips to make them.
[Emphasis added].

Runner up quote.
So, we're like unlike, we're working like the devil to help them transition because as long as Russia is able to make money selling oil, they're going to continue to be able to do the bad things they're doing. So, there's a lot, it's really complicated. I'm not suggesting American people can understand it. They understand it, but they have, you know, they're working 8-10 hours a day just to put food on the table.

And watch inflation go through the roof.
Like CRT, transgender bathrooms, and falsehoods about the 2020 election.
Wave a magic wand.
Has nothing to do with inflation.
He is. And if you think more drilling will immediately lower oil prices, you may wish to do some cursory research about this.
Here's the reality: the ultra-MAGA party has nothing to offer except complaints.

Lmao Is that the same Rick Scott who wants to raise taxes on the poor? I can't take anything that guy says seriously.
What a great policy MAGA fans have, tax the poor. Brilliant.

Ultra MAGA isnt in charge. But neither is Biden, when he wants to make excuses.
no, really you do.

“ultra-MAGA” Republicans in the midterm elections as he increasingly tries to cast former President Donald Trump and his adherents as a political foil.
The “ultra-MAGA” Republicans perform yeoman's work moving the Overton window of American discourse more reactionary right and normalizing the Democratic establishment neo-liberal agenda.
While trying to marginalize the real solutions of the Sanders/democratic socialist wing.
It has been an effective tactic for the corporatocratic oligarchs but popular sentiment is awakening.

Hey, do you remember that wonderful health care plan the previous guy and his clear congressional majority came up with? Neither do I.
Blacklabel
Yeah I remember something that John McCain dramatically blocked the vote for, yeah.
but the topic is Biden and his inability to take any responsibility for his own failures. And more importantly no ability to fix anything. Resign.
plasticmonkey
That wasn't a health care plan. That was a vote to destroy the ACA.
What was the GOP's wonderful plan that Trump kept promising would soon be unveiled?
plasticmonkey
How should the next guy fix things?
Or maybe you can't come up with any ideas yourself, just like the rest of the MAGAverse. You all just leave it to the "very stable genius". He alone can fix things.
Blacklabel
Did we have these inflation/gas price/stock market/foreign war problems 2016-2020?
nope. Our biggest problem was “mean tweets”.
Blacklabel
I gave you like 2 paragraphs of ideas. But it’s not my responsibility nor Ultra MAGA. Dems claimed they could govern, so govern.
it’s Biden and his incompetent cabinet members problems to solve.

No one told Biden to continue to spend and spend, by the way, whatever happened to all of the Covid pandemic relief funds?
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/secret-service-nearly-100b-stolen-pandemic-relief-funds-n1286430
Like what?
Nice dodge, they control all 3 branches, the GOP can’t and are not responsible for anything that has gone haywire with this nation, it’s all on them. Again, not one single poll even the leftist ones can’t support that outrageous lie.
Lowering taxes is one. Sealing the border and trying to stop inflation and putting the brakes on this administration wreckless spending is a start.
dagon
No one told Biden to continue to spend and spend, by the way, whatever happened to all of the Covid pandemic relief funds?
Started under Trump and orchestrated by financial predators taking advantage of deregulation.
https://datebook.sfchronicle.com/books/review-reporters-tenacity-results-in-eye-opening-look-at-profiteers-of-the-covid-era
And the usual Republican solution? More corporate/billionaire tax cuts/gifts for these same predators.
Is trickle down for workers and gifts for the .001% all they ever have to offer?

Ok, so you’re saying we shouldn’t have a stronger and upgraded military?
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/feb/27/trumps-budget-54-billion-increase-defense-spending
No wonder Putin feels emboldened, the guy knows we CAN’T stop him military even if we wanted.
You mean what the left is doing right now?
https://www.levernews.com/democrats-bail-on-promise-to-shed-light-on-corporate-political-spending/
Raising taxes and taking money from Paul to Peter and pushing for more income redistribution is another thing killing the Democrats.

U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday warned voters unhappy with soaring inflation and his stalled domestic agenda against turning power over to “ultra-MAGA” Republicans in the midterm elections as he increasingly tries to cast former President Donald Trump and his adherents as a political foil.
What about ultra-patriotic?
Is that something to fear?
dagon
Ok, so you’re saying we shouldn’t have a stronger and upgraded military?
You mentioned misappropriation of COVID relief funds and Biden and then this non sequitur?
And raising defense budgets is a form of income redistribution to defense manufacturers and takes taxes.
All sounds like more of the same. Infinite budgets for corporate subsidies, "incentives" and military pork but for a health care, social support , education and infrastructure we need fiscal responsibility.
America is in a downward spiral and needs radical change.
bass4funk
Dodge? Biden keeps doing that, why?
But the difference is, we need a military, without it, we would have been dead a long time ago, which is essential to our survival, income redistribution given to the masses hasn’t necessarily anything to any minority communities, hasn’t helped California, NYC, Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Compton, Oakland, Miami, DC
Yes, look at the most prosperous blue cities that do this aggressively.
Yes, especially seeing how they misused government funding.
That’s coming in November and not a moment too soon.

Stubble with speeches as much as you want, but economic facts are called facts because they are facts, your country is disintegrating, and as you have only 37% popularity in a political system, that has only two choices of a leader, well, times up.
lincolnman
"Ultra-MAGA" indeed....this week we learned;
Trump had a huge fear of being assassinated...by a pineapple...
He was worried China was aiming a "Hurricane Gun" at the US....
Mr "No More Wars" wanted to start a war with Mexico by launching missiles at it....
He wanted the military to "shoot" and "execute" unarmed people protesting George Floyd's death...
Thought our ships were "ugly"....
Don't Make America Goofy Again....

Well Biden Inc. can push, the MSM will push some more, the loyalists will parrot the talking points, but Main Street is probably done with these economy destroying warmongering Dems.

Bingo!

Pinocchio Biden always making trouble, forcing the Republicans to fix it. What a legacy he will have.
FizzBit
You know the left is just a façade when CNN’s Don Lemon is playing a recording of Neocon extraordinaire Lindsey Graham saying Bidden is the best choice for the nation. One year + into Biden Inc. now we know why. Warmongers Unit!
