There are lots of anti-hate laws to protect all minorities already in the US. Every time 1 group is split out for special treatment, that isn't good. It separates people when we should be lifting each other up and helping.

Labeling this an anti-Asian hate crime bill is the issue. It seems like knee jerk effort. As long as it isn't specific to any group and gets resources looking at all crimes faster, fine. Israelis, Muslims, Asians, Blacks, Atheists, Immigrants, Sikhs, Hindus, LGBT321, whatever. All should be helped.

Several rabid cultists here have claimed they are BAME, (it's a ploy that's cropped up on other sites as well) so they can continue to demonize BAME without being accused of bigotry.

Of course it's a good response, unless you're wilfully dishonest or have difficulty understanding simple concepts. I have a newsflash for you : the vast majorioty of crimes are not recorded, therefore they can't be shown on fox news. That doesn't mean they don't happen. Conversly, extrapolating a trend from part of the few that are recorded serves absolutely no statistical purpose.

It would be like saying that 100% of all college admissions briberies are committed by hollywood actresses after seing the Felicity Huffman/Lori Loughlin case on TV. The fact that you didn't see the other 51 people indicted in the case on TV doesn't make them magically not exist.

Sorry to rain on peoples' parade but Mazie Hirono is the one that said she would vote against any Biden cabinet member that wasn't LGBTQ or in a racial minority. So if your skin color is white, she is against you. You can't fight anti-racism with racism.

The idea of hate crimes is stupid. It’s simply virtue signaling. It does nothing to deter crime. Crime is crime no matter what the motivation. A brutal assault isn’t made any less heinous if it’s motivated by greed or by demographic differences. I would be fine with raising the penalty for all crimes regardless of the motivation.

That said this law will only hurt the Democrats’ own assumed constituents. Most “hate” crimes occur in Democrat run cities and are committed by a high percentage of non-white assailants. Dems and their media allies will of course only report the crimes that fit the approved narrative. In the end you have what we have now - skyrocketing crime rates including a resurgence of murders in large blue cities from coast to coast and a surge in policies that explicitly differentiate citizens based on race.

The majority of anti-Asian hate crimes in the US occur in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Not what you would call the conservative-type of cities.

And sadly, the majority of these hate crimes are perpetrated by blacks and latinos.

You won't hear that, though, from AOC or Kamala, or other liberal leaning loonies.

@Commodore Perry as an asian that grew up in texas and lived in nyc for 20yrs. I have never felt unsafe until it was enabled from the top. Last few months before leaving nyc i would be prepared as i started hearing slurrs and comments around me.

And yes sadly as an asian american almost all of my racist incidents occurred by black and brown. So, this has nothing to do with the locations its where the most asians are populated and its enabled them to turn their hate/anger on a group.

@Ming Thompson I am just repeating the facts that the majority of anti-Asian hate crimes are taking place in the three cities I mentioned and are perpetrated by latinos and blacks in a high percentage.

The liberal media, unlike Fox News, naturally does not want to hype up those facts. Hence, we get fake news.

I have no doubt that these incidents are not limited by geography. The US left-wing media and other Woke participants are still trying to milk the BLM cow, so people need to look at the conservative media outlets to get a sense of the reality such as you experienced.

And not to diminish what you said, but I have been on the end of anti-white/American slurs thrown at me right here in Japan (by Japanese). Also have been kicked, punched and spit at over the years. My transgressions? Walking down the street to work, standing in a train reading a book.

So, we should all stand up to such behavior no matter where it happens and to whom it happens.

That is absolutely correct. The attacks on Asians has been going on for a very long time. I have seen it and it goes way back to 1992 and the black community was always ground zero for Asian/Black frictions

Every city you highlighted here have Democrat mayors with the exception of 2. San Diego has Republican mayor but non-white population is 58%. San Antonio has an Independent mayor and white population is 24%.
