Only once..

Well only that election was pointed out.

Anyway, the Republican Party is a cancer on American society that is doing its best to take the US back into the Stone Age like the Taliban did to Afghanistan.

The same Republican Party among others ended slavery.. anyway the split between left and right American society is now complete..and that will now re-shape that country.. and If guess correctly that was the objective behind the hate Trump narrative..and so far very successfull.

Don't forget the Bush that came before that, he was a one-term loser too

But he won that popular vote..but going forward anyway all that is now irrelevant..as a left vs right elections may not happen..

I thought Obama had his hands full coming into the financial crisis, but this one, geez, who could have thought? Fate has chosen Biden for this overwhelming task and I wish him strength, this is going to be one for the history books.

Yes..that was a different America.. the financial crisis roots though go back to the Clinton days where-in policy change allowed such loans in the first place.. what do you think Obama did about the financial crisis?

As for the history books.. well there will be left and right history books. As the other poster commented,on the inexorable and rapid decline of the USA.

It is reassuring, though, to have the US back on board..

Yes..but only the left aligned US..

I am reminded of James Comey being stranded in California and denied government transportation after getting fired by the spiteful Trump.

As soon as Biden is sworn in, the government should pull all government resources being used by Trump for his "celebration." If mid-air, land AF1 at the closest airport and have the secret service escort him out.

Good luck to Biden but with the best will in the world, he's not going to halt the inexorable and rapid decline of the USA

Yes..Trump tried, and was attacked in every possible way..Biden a career politicin will only make gracefull politically correct statements, as nobody want's to hear hard facts. The left-right split is total and complete.. the EU, China and India will now subtly start dominating..

Biden's options for dealing with Trump overlooks his team's effort?

Is he forgiving and forgetting?

Who knows, that is American politics..

That’s 2 successive GOP administrations that have screwed the pooch.

Don't forget the Bush that came before that, he was a one-term loser too.

That's two Bushes and a Trump for the past three Republican presidents. And they haven't won the popular vote in 30 years.

That’s 2 successive GOP administrations that have screwed the pooch. Once again, Democrats get to clean up GOP messes.

plans to tackle the nation's multiple crises

Trump and his Republicans are leaving the country in the worst shape it's been in decades. The pandemic death toll increases each day and the economy remains shattered because of Trump and his R's inability to manage, but watch them do whatever they can to ensure things stay bad.

That's because they are undemocratic, treasonous, criminal, fascist and cultish terrorist racist unchristian sheep.

Those 8 years Joe ByeDon served as VP for Mr. O were not just being in his shadow. It's a learning process as well, and it's a job. Sometimes the VP has to assume POTUS duties too, even if it's temporary. George Bush spent 8 years as Reagan's VP and that was a factor on his side, especially in the era of glasnost.

And I think the same goes for Joe. He's already taking some action and technically already is POTUS in my book. TrumpTurd has done nothing, absolutely nothing beneficial to anybody and everyday he just sassed off the mouth like the lippy punkass brat that he is - inciting hatred and all the violence that results from it. He is an egotistical snotbag. Joe has alot of work to do but he's already getting down on it, more than TrashTrump ever did in four years time.

I’ve read a few articles suggesting Trump is trying to upstage Biden by holding a huge farewell at the same time as the inauguration. I wonder which will be bigger, the Trump farewell or the Trump inauguration

TurnipTurdTrump whined about wanting a military band, a 21-gun salute and other honors as he leaves DC. No other President has EVER got such a thing or even brought the idea up. The Pentagon told him flat NO. After all the badmouthing and hate talk and sassing off he gives our military, he deserves NO such honors!

No salutes, no honors, no salutations, no fare-dee-well wishes for fascists, usurpers, sex deviants, criminals, terrorists or traitors!!!!

Toasted, certainly where the Paris climate accord is concerned, better in than out, especially when Harris/Biden will outline financial/economic alignment with AOC green new deal.

Factbox: U.S. president-elect Biden pledged to change immigration. Here's how…

The Biden plan to combat coronavirus (covid-19) and prepare for future global health threats

Also, these two policy areas that could define the first 100 days of Harris/Biden new administration

Competence, normalcy, progress....what a change from the last four years of buffoonery, failure, and Clorox cures...

Personally, on the subject of the Paris climate accord, Biden/Harris should rebalance the Accord to push for a more proactive and responsible contribution from the Government of China, and India.

Agreed.

It is reassuring, though, to have the US back on board.

I am so looking forward to the return of competency to the White House.

The Biden/Harris administration election manifesto clearly states an aggressive rebalancing policy for Covid-19, immigration, economy, and revisiting the Paris climate accord.

So, it should come as no surprise that Biden/Harris must go full steam within the first one hundred days in office.

Personally, on the subject of the Paris climate accord, Biden/Harris should rebalance the Accord to push for a more proactive and responsible contribution from the Government of China, and India.

The aim also must be to secure partisan, cross isle support from the new republican/GOP opposition.

One important point/aspect to be fully aware of, is a detail understanding the challenges of the pandemic and the need to have a totally flexible immigration policy.

Both areas need to establish a concurrent response strategy and action plan.

Be prepared for the multiple covid-19 variants doubling the total numbers succumbing to the pandemic, possibly close to 750,000 plus. The speed of vaccine rollout could reduce that figure.

These are the top priorities.

Since Trump was impeached twice, does he get a 42 gun salute when he leaves?

This week Biden is working on helping the American people. trump is giving medals to his favourite golfers and the country singer who headlined his inauguration, and checking giuliani’s expenses so he can avoid paying him.

Night and day.

And watch Trump's anti-democracy followers LOL and har har at the problems the country faces because of how Trump and the R's have bungled everything they've touched.

Adding to the uncertainty is a badly riven Republican Party -- divided over Trump's false assertions that he won November's election, his fanning of emotions ahead of the Capitol invasion and on the future direction of the party.

That Republican politicians like Cruz, Hawley, Jordan etal continue to falsely claim the election was rigged says they will continue their efforts to undermine faith in voting and elections, i.e. continue their assaults on the republic's democratic principles.
