Suddenly, FEMA and the federal government (and it's funds) are not so unpopular anymore.

Of course.

Comforting news.

$250 billion of damages. $60 billion of insurance claims.

Nearly a decade ago, DeSantis and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) also opposed billions of dollars in relief for Hurricane Sandy, citing unrelated provisions and unnecessary spending.

Governor Ron DeSantis Requests President Biden Approve Major Disaster Declaration and 100 Percent Federal Cost Share for 60 Days for Hurricane Ian.

Well, the guys a star, he’s made Florida a livable place for the 1st-2nd amendment, allows parents to have more control and knowledge as well as input regarding their kids education, hard on crime, zero tolerance for illegals, allows for mask option, listend to his constituents…

This is why he’s getting a second term, thank God!

Ronnie didn't take too kindly to a reporter asking a perfectly appropriate question regarding evacuation orders.

Tried to cut him off, failed. Tried to ignore him, failed because it is a perfiectly valid question to ask.

So he defaulted to Govenor Huff and puff-mode.

He’s a buffoon selling snake oil to other buffoons.

All those bills he signed, remember those? Circus shows not worth the ink wasted.

Oh that same gotcha question cnn tried and failed with?

or another one? I see you didn’t bother to provide a paraphrase of the question or even post a link so must be nothing.

The vast majority of Floridians don't think so

Yeah, anyway the good people of that sunshine state are deciding to give him another term, and rightly deserved.

I’m pretty sure the point of this article is Biden and DeSantis putting the animosity aside for the good of the citizens of Florida…

I agree, which is the right and noble thing to do.

What many people believe to be true doesn't make it true.

What many people believe to be true doesn't make it true.

Like the negative ads and attacks the Dems keep putting out against DeSantis? Yeah, I think so.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Well that’s a sudden change in narrative.

Our condo was spared but there was a tornado nearby.

Biden: "I think the one thing [the hurricane] has ended is the discussion about whether or not there is climate change and we should do something about it."

his expert: However, experts, including the Biden administration's top hurricane expert, have since pushed back against such claims, saying there wasn't enough evidence to tie the storm to climate change.

Let's see how devoted wock-star Ronnie is when the cameras go away and the actual governing starts; when the attention and the political benefit to his career is no longer there,

Well, his first term was and has been a success, so his second term should be flawless.

will he give a damn about these people? Past experience suggests that he won't.

He does, if not, Crist should be killed in the polls, hmmm….doesn’t seem to be happening.

Remember that time the right blamed california for not "sweeping the forests"?

Maybe Florida should have laid out a bunch of paper towel on the shore to soak up the water. Since they didn't, this is all their fault, right?

Ron Ron did preciesly ZIP in his first term besides huff, puff, promote "Don't say Gay", pick fights with private businesses for their Social Issues stances (How very "Business Friendly" of him), scream "WOKE" every 20 seconds and demonize immigrants who were not even in his state (but not Cuban "illegals" mind you. He needs Cuban votes!)

Now that the state is under water with Gators swimming down the street, a massive rebuild in the works and a fair number needing government assistance to get on his feet (Someone outght to tell them about how govt. "Handouts" amount to socialism), Helmet Hair will likely be revealed for the stuffed shirt he is.

To be fair, this is exactly what the right wants of their politicians. So he actually is acting in the interests of his electorate. The problem is that he's overseeing a population of Floridaman people.

Yup, it's all fun and "own the libs" games right up until there is actual governing to be done. Then it's FEMA to the rescue!

You cannot get much more on-brand republican than that.

Everywhere? Lol

Naw, liberals are just upset because the guy is a rockstar in that state, he’s been the most effective governor ever, and he is cruising to get to the second term, and the only thing that the left can do is just sit their wine, scream, like little kids, and just throw personal insults towards the men, and that’s all they can do, so keep at it, the guy is going to win a second term and that’s a good thing for all Floridians for freedom and democracy.

Ron Ron did preciesly ZIP in his first term

wow, if this is actually true then he will surely be voted out of office, right?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

A long history of powerful hurricanes. I remember Andrew very well. But Florida never seems prepared for them. They must do better.

DeSantis is not in a rockband.
