the only remaining credibility is “I know Biden is mentally deficient and ineffective, but I just am sooooo triggered by the mere existence of Trump that I am still voting Biden.

Vivid imagination. Have fun with that.

I think we would just like to point that Trump's cognition is currently declining rapidly.

zero credibility in that statement. In reality or especially when compared to your guy. Which is what an election is, a comparison.

That's what we call a blind spot. Probably time to start paying attention.

I mean come on man, the only remaining credibility is “I know Biden is mentally deficient

He isn't.

and ineffective,*

His presidency has been remarkably effective.

but I just am sooooo triggered by the mere existence of Trump that I am still voting Biden.

Not at all. Biden has been an excellent president, that's why people should vote for him.

Man I hate that orange goblin and all his supporters! Hate him, hate them!”*

It has nothing to do with hate. Most expect Trump to go full authoritarian and destroy democracy in the US as we know it. Not only that, he is incompetent, he doesn't understand foreign policy and he only looks out for himself.

When even I am now hoping Joe stays in the race should give a hint that your guy is damaged beyond repair.

The fact that we aren't worried, should give a hint that your guy is fine.

poor guy, it’s his bday and everyone wants to pretend it isn’t and talk about Trump. That’s sad.

This is what American Presidential electioneering has come to : Who is more if more feeble and demented: The Neo-liberal representative of a Democratic political establishment or the Republican representative of authoritarian conspiracy based corporatism.

A Hobson's choice if there ever was one.

I love it when all our MAGA-friends here cite all these polls FROM THE HATED MAIN STREAM MEDIA...and want us to forget all their previous daily posts where they ranted that the MSM is entirely "Leftist" and CAN NEVER BE TRUSTED...now suddenly these MSM polls are gospel... What a hypocritical flip...

No, not hypocritical because now it seems all sides left and right are in the same mindset in their criticism of this President

Trump is a wanna-be dictator that will soon be convicted on 91 charges...or maybe one charge...it only takes one to out him behind bars - true...

He will never go behind bars. Even Eric Holder thought that was a joke.

Better get your Nikki Haley banners printed up now -

For a VP slot

those Trump banners will only be good at Leavenworth...

Will Never come to that.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

While in office Trump told more than 20,000 lies.

Compared and double that to Biden’s lies there is just no comparison

That was very easy for anyone to do after the queen was on the throne for 70 years.

I’m sorry, but I have never, ever, ever met an American that his country or his countries anthem mixed up. Nice try though.

Trump was the first U.S. president in several decades not to get the U.S. involved in a new war.

And Biden is the second.

He bequeathed to Biden a stable Afghanistan situation, which Biden then proceeded to completely screw up.

And he bequeathed a withdrawal plan that was carried out.

There was no Russia/Ukraine conflict, and no Israel/Gaza conflict. Neither would have even happened if Trump were still president -- I say that because neither of them DID happen when he actually WAS president.

Biden doesn't control Hamas timelines. Going for regular meetings to give Vladimir Putin belly rubs is not real stability. In fact far worse things were probably promised than belly rubs.

It appears, you haven't been seeing Trump's numerous gaffs recently...

Again, nowhere near the gaffes Biden has had over the years, if the Dems could nail in that they absolutely would, but since he doesn’t, once again they’re grasping at straws.

They way outnumber Biden's stutters.

No, they don’t.

Trump too has also made a large number of gaffes in his speeches.

Nowhere near close compared to what Biden has.

While in office Trump told more than 20,000 lies.

Remember Trump's claim the British had airfields in the Civil War.

What was Biden doing when he forgot what country he’s from citing “God save the Queen?”

That was very easy for anyone to do after the queen was on the throne for 70 years. I couldn't remember at first.

His mental acuity is still fine.

It was hell during the 4 years with that Ummm, that other guy and his Administration.

Hell? You obviously define "hell" differently than a lot of other people.

The U.S. was demonstrably more prosperous, and the world was demonstrably safer and less "on fire," under Trump than it has been under Biden.

Really?! You seem to be forgetting the dumpster fire mishandling of the Covid crisis under Trump.

And apart from that what did Trump achieve? Tax cuts that the US cannot afford.

The U.S. economy was stronger. Prices were under control. People had more money left in their pockets at the end of each pay period.

No thanks to Trump. Do you think inflation is Biden's fault? There is inflation all around the world, but the US has some of the lowest inflation globally.

Trump was the first U.S. president in several decades not to get the U.S. involved in a new war.

Not through a lack of trying. Trump was constantly asking why he can't use nukes.

But so is Biden. Biden hasn't got the U.S. into any new wars.

He bequeathed to Biden a stable Afghanistan situation, which Biden then proceeded to completely screw up.

Actually it was Trump who screwed up by signing a deal with the Taliban, in which the US promised to fully withdraw its troops by May 2021.

There was no Russia/Ukraine conflict,

Well that was Putin, to be fair.

and no Israel/Gaza conflict.

Well that was Hamas, to be fair.

Neither would have even happened if Trump were still president

Yes they would. But for sure he would have dealt with them far worse.

-- I say that because neither of them DID happen when he actually WAS president.

Actually, Russia attacked Ukraine when Trump was president and he didn't respond. It was Nicki Haley who eventually responded for Trump.

So, please. Reassess your definition of "hell." It doesn't automatically mean "when we have a president whose ideology I don't like."

Maybe you should reasses your version of hell.

Biden is doing well for his age and is quite witty, too.

Clearly you are watching the news on Democrat-friendly media outlets (which is pretty much all of them) that protect him and censor out the many, many video clips that show Biden to be incoherent, cognitively impaired, and confused.

The U.S. economy was stronger. Prices were under control. People had more money left in their pockets at the end of each pay period. The number of people crossing the southern border illegally was far lower.

Trump was the first U.S. president in several decades not to get the U.S. involved in a new war. He bequeathed to Biden a stable Afghanistan situation, which Biden then proceeded to completely screw up.

Biden is doing well for his age and is quite witty, too. I'm looking forward to another 4 years with him, far rather than any time with the other side. Those guys and their supporters are nuts. It was hell during the 4 years with that Ummm, that other guy and his Administration.

It's the economy, stupid.

Has he lost a bit of shine for you?

The events of January 6, 2021 - and the way Trump handled things. He did not emerge with any honor from that shameful day of terrorism.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Fighto!

Like him or loathe him, it is fairly certain now that Trump will win the Presidency.

Anyone making "fairly certain" predictions a year before the elections can be disregarded.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

The polls indicate that head-to-head with Biden, Trump is leading, and his support is growing. Sitting on 39% a year out, Biden would need to stage a political comeback for the ages. I don't mind the guy and wouldn't rule against it - but it's not looking likely

A lot less gushing about Trump than you used to be.

I remember you comically describing Trump and Pence as the envy of western democracies.

Has he lost a bit of shine for you?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Like him or loathe him, it is fairly certain now that Trump will win the Presidency. His campaign is going smoothly, and he has won over women voters - which was a segment Biden previously was strong in.

Oh definitely, just look at all those Repub wins on abortion...in Red States like Kansas and Ohio...ROFL..

The biggest decision now is who Trump personally chooses as his VP. Hopefully not little Ron De Santis. My bet is on Nikki Haley at this point - if only to bolster the big women's support yet further.

Bet on the QAnon Shaman or Dave DePape...

Will be difficult (but not impossible) for Biden to turn the ship around now - there definitely seems to be an increasing groundswell to get Trump back in that Whitehouse.

From Moscow, Beijing, Pyongyang, and Tehran....

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

We haven't reached 24 hours of Trump trial coverage, Trump insurrection coverage, and Republican abortion coverage yet.

One word - Teflon. Trump is made of it - for better or worse. He seems to shrug off every legal issue that comes his way. Certainly with the public, anyway.

Huh?

The polls indicate that head-to-head with Biden, Trump is leading, and his support is growing. Sitting on 39% a year out, Biden would need to stage a political comeback for the ages. I don't mind the guy and wouldn't rule against it - but it's not looking likely.

That Biden's the only Democratic antidote so far to the MAGAmadness of Trumprepublicanism is more the pity. While his mind may still be working well enough to sign off on stuff. the optics don't look good in a country that worships at the altar of youth and beauty, a factor that no doubt plays into the lack of enthusiasm of many. Still, politicians who don't know when to quit, always ruin their reputation and spoil their legacy. An octogenarian Potus does not bode well for any country's future.

He is too old. Without a doubt.

However, for many voters, especially POC voters, his support for Israel is a real vote-killer. They recognise oppression when they see it and hear it.

Trump too has also made a large number of gaffes in his speeches

Remember Trump's claim the British had airfields in the Civil War

Recently he’s been slurring about the possibility of WW2 starting and forgetting who he beat in 2016. His brain is mush. Clear deterioration from an already low bar.

Biden looks and sounds frail. Time to call it a day.

I’m sorry but Pres. Biden should bow out. The stakes are too high and as Blacklabel correctly points out, he’s losing younger left-leaning voters over Gaza. This is not the time for the good old DNC wait your turn mode of operation. They’ve learned nothing from 2016…

it makes it clear this guy is far into the latter stages of dementia...

He has confused Obama for Biden 7 times! And who can forget that gem about needing an ID to buy bread...

His best bet is that the four judges deciding his indictments will rule he is too far gone for prison, and sentence him to a "home" instead...

I don't see any evidence that Biden is anything but lucid.

Calls Ukrainian people "Iranian"

Reads teleprompter instructions aloud

Looks for Republican politician in audience that was dead for months before

Calls Kamala the President

Says U.S. has 54 States

Calls Cambodia "Colombia"

Shakes hands with nobody there

Can't exit a stage without going the wrong direction or stumbling

It’s not even age- it’s policy.

biden only winning on abortion and climate change.

he is even seen more unfavorably than orange goblin in the latest poll from NBC.

Even 18-24 year olds prefer Trump now, was supposedly +26 Biden last time.

-6 ( +8 / -14 )

Because the entire media left or right and the entire world sees Biden’s rapid daily decline.

Yep. It's a FACT! Daily decline!

0 ( +5 / -5 )

I can't imagine what his condition will be like in 5 years, let alone 6 months from now. They say the job of POTUS adds years to your body. Biden must be in his 90s by now having to deal with two wars and all the domestic issues in the US, oh and climate change!

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Biden might be a little older than Trump, but he's a helluva lot more intelligent & sane than Trump.

2 ( +12 / -10 )

people saying they won't vote for Biden are stating their biggest reason is AGE not policies.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/biden-democrats-frustration-1.6514720

No, his policies definitely have a lot to do with his declining support.

All this comes while Biden's polling numbers continue to tank. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll found that only 36 per cent of Americans approved of the president's handling of his job, the lowest level of his presidency.

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

I would hate to see Trump in the White house but the people saying they won't vote for Biden are stating their biggest reason is AGE not policies. He was the man to beat Trump last time but now he is just TOO OLD.

"Down the chain of command, the United States has a two-man rule in place at nuclear launch facilities. This verification process ensures the order came from the actual president; the secretary of defense has no veto power. Many sources show that the President has sole launch authority."

which Biden was also credibly accused of, thanks for reminding.

Credibly? Nope. But you know who has, and who has been found liable in court? Trump. :)

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Biden is a day older. Wow. Big news. Do we need weekly reminders about people’s concerns about Biden’s age?

Because the entire media left or right and the entire world sees Biden’s rapid daily decline.

His mental acuity is still fine.

If that were true, the media and even Dems in his own party wouldn’t worry about many of his political decisions and that huge stumble with Xi last week didn’t help his image at all, not to mention watching Blinken’s face and body cringe the way he did says it all what people are thinking and that were previously quiet and are now more vocal in their concern for their party and Biden’s declining cognitive abilities.

That’s what matters.

Yes, and that is why it matters so much based on his historical decisions particularly abroad.

Not how entertaining and physically peppy he is. It’s not pro wrestling.

That was how the media portrayed Biden in the beginning knowing back then he just wasn’t mentally fit for this job, and they tried their best to support this guy and look the other way every time he fumbled, they’re not doing that anymore, they are panicking and worried, rightly so.

Both Trump and Biden are too old to be president and have the responsibility of the nuclear-football.

From what I've read, there is not a button in there. There is a phone with humans on the other side that can delay nonsensical or illegal orders.

Biden is actually a Super Ager.

The fact that he can barely string 3 words together coherently or walk up two steps is irrelevant.

That is clearly untrue. Biden makes coherent speeches all the time.

Mr Kipling

His mental acuity is still fine.

No, it is obviously far from fine. The Democrats have had 3 years to find a suitable candidate. Keeping Biden who is in mental decline for all to see is just handing the White House to Trump.

I don't see any evidence that Biden is anything but lucid.

Trump on the other hand is showing many signs on many occasions that is mental faculty is declining. He has referred to the current president as Obama more than once, he has mistaken Jeb for George W Bush and he has referred to WW2 as something that may happen in the future..

-4 ( +10 / -14 )

Regardless, his popularity has dropped significantly due to the Gaza conflict. It would be prudent for him to step aside and let someone fresh take the Republican candidate on. I don't think Biden is going to get a second term anymore.

Age also brings with it, Historical Baggage and past Prejudices.... something that today's Younger generation, are keen to point out... right ?

That historical baggage and past prejudice has the advantage of keeping you safe from your actual enemies in this world.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

The sooner he is out of politics, the better. But with the US alienating its population more and more, you will never know if the replacement of a bad incumbent will be even worse. Voting as I see it, is a form of validation. In the end they will do whatever they please and will invoke the vote as the permission to “govern”.

0 ( +9 / -9 )

I've seen real senility and Biden is far from that. He just has an unfortunate tendency to not give a flip and say whatever comes to mind. I guess that too comes with age.

-2 ( +11 / -13 )

Age supposedly brings Wisdom... right ?

Well, i won't question that one, although with age, I wonder whether I have any Wisdom worth disseminating upon today's Youth.

Those who worry about Biden's age are maga people.... They are not real ' democrats' Under our loving Biden our nation is prospering and the world is so peaceful . Look at our borders millions are coming to our nation ... everyday 100 k people are freely crossing ...that is because of our prosperity under Biden.... SO he should run again ,,,,,,,, Regarding age Trump is OLD and weak.. so Trump should not run against Our BIDEN.
