Joe Biden's administration is back sliding, dithering hesitation, fiddling whilst Rome burns.

When President Putin senses politically a strategic door ajar, Putin will kick it off its hinges.

The 100,000 troops to the border of Ukraine, plus all the hardware support are not there to play winter wonderland to welcome Santa.

The present of such a large force represents a ruthless brutal reminder of the consequences if the EU, Britain, US in fact the whole free world appeases this ruthless Slavic thug.

Sanctions will not deter Putin. The German Government is unlikely to shelve Nord Stream 2.

The White House has suggested that stopping the Nord Stream 2 pipeline could be part of an economic response, although the issue is controversial in Europe, which relies heavily on Russian energy resources.

 “Could be”??????

Unless the free world stands up and fights for the freedoms all have taken for granted.

Then prepare for a world dominated by murderous genocidal Chinese, Russian dictatorships.

Russia will not invade Ukraine, it is only the rhetoric that US barks to appear strong and maintain chaos in the region for its own economic benefit.

Lord Putin knows how to do things..

3 ( +7 / -4 )

whatever. Putin must be shaking in his boots

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Biden stood up to Putin.

Trump would have rolled over on his back and submitted like he did in Helsinki.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Biden is not going to do anything when there is a lot he can actually from imposing the harshest sanctions The Biden administration waived sanctions on the Nord Stream pipeline between Russia and Germany.

The US also lifted sanctions on Putin which helps Russia in seeking to extend its energy domination of the Europe and circumvent Ukraine as an energy transit station. He could arm Ukraine with the most powerful offensive weapons with devastating force to the Ukrainians as well imposing sanctions on the largest banks and the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

Biden also has the ability to restrict the investors from buying Russian debt on the secondary market, there’s a lot he can do, but overall Russia is not the real problem for the US. China is and that’s where the existential threats are resonating, that’s the real growing danger to the US and the rest of the world, but will Biden take action, unlikely.

Russia will not attack Ukraine? ? ?

Comments like that shows the ignorance of reality from 2014 when Russia did attack Ukraine and took a big part of it called Crimea.

We sure could use Julian Assange right now to expose the US/NATO/EU propaganda. I happened to catch yesterday’s CNN presentation on the so called Russian build up. A guy with a marker circling some pics and telling us what this or that is for. I just love how corporate CNN beats the war drums every single time.

Sanction are all but meaningless if the political will to enforce them fails to take effect.

The Government of China will just ignore them.

Putin has "previous"

Thirteen years on – 20% of Georgia is still occupied by Russia

https://www.euractiv.com/section/eastern-europe/opinion/thirteen-years-on-20-of-georgia-is-still-occupied-by-russia/

Crimea: Six years after illegal annexation

Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia next?

U.S. and Baltic states oppose Russian 'rewriting of history'

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-baltics-russia-pompeo-idUSKCN24O1XQ

The European Union and NATO have accused Russia of waging a campaign of disinformation to try to destabilize the West by exploiting divisions in society. Russia denies any such tactics.

The European Commission said in January it would not tolerate the distortion of historic facts after Putin suggested Poland shared responsibility for starting World War Two because it connived in Nazi German plans in 1938 to dismember Czechoslovakia.

It is delusional to suggest that the huge military presence camped on Ukraine's boarder will not invade if the EU , UK, US do not appease Putin's will.

The most crucial and important aspect facing Europe is not what action Trump would have taken, it is an irrelevance,

It is the response and decisive actions the present US Government will take that matters.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Weak response. Putin now knows he can proceed if he wants.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Arm the Ukrainians! That would be the best deterrent.

The is no hiding place from the fact that Europe's dependence is beyond question.

How dependent are we from energy produced outside the EU?

https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/cache/infographs/energy/bloc-2c.html

As mentioned in the part dealing with energy imports, the EU mainly depends on Russia for imports of crude oil, natural gas and solid fuels, followed by Norway for crude oil and natural gas.

View the data set pull down menus and the whole sorry picture starts to emerge.

The best the EU and UK could conjure up is to blow raspberries.

War - what is it good for? Absolutely nothing.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Well, in Jan/Feb 2014 Obama (with VP Biden) tried ringing up Putin and threw sanctions and threats at him to try and stop Moscow from annexing the Crimea.

It didn't work.

In March 2014 Russia formally annexed Crimea.

Gotta wait it out folks; the red wave is returning.

Looks like you’re cheering for “*Lord Putin” now** against “the U.S. & the West” @TokyoLiving 7:47am and not just*The Great Red Dragon” any more ??**

*@TokyoLiving 7:47am**:“Russia will not invade Ukraine, it is only the rhetoric that US barks to appear strong and maintain chaos in the region for its own economic benefit. Lord Putin knows how to do things..” -*

And you were doing so well in the last 24hours, praising ‘Western’ young people:

- “…learn from them instead of criticizing and bullying nonsense hateful words against them would be good.” -

Biden stood up to Putin.

What has Biden done (not talk, but action) exactly to make this a true statement? Im curious.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

A smart person would want to see all diplomatic and economic approaches exhausted before even considering war.

But as expected and entirely predictably the same people who not so long ago were claiming Biden would be a warmonger and dragging America into more pointless war are the first to be calling for troops on the ground.

I’d call them hypocrites but I know they don’t really believe what they say and are just getting the hits in before last orders.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Calm down Joe, the world got your point: with steely look and stern words you've just prevented an invasion nobody was going to start. Take a rest.

@ReasonandWisdomNippon

Comments like that shows the ignorance of reality from 2014 when Russia did attack Ukraine and took a big part of it called Crime

Comments like that shows the ignorance of reality when calling the peaceful return of Crimea (not a single shot fired, nobody hurt) an attack. Invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya (aerial bombings, artillery shellings, piles of dead bodies) - that were illegal attacks. I hope you can see the difference.

@itsonlyrocknroll

Thirteen years on – 20% of Georgia is still occupied by Russia

Not correct. These 20 % are now independent countries, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. By the way, how about to return to Serbia its inherent territory, Kosovo, illegally occupied by NATO and Albanian narcomafia?

after Putin suggested Poland shared responsibility for starting World War Two because it connived in Nazi German plans in 1938 to dismember Czechoslovakia

Putin is correct. Poland actually did participate in the dismembering of Czechoslovakia. Google for what Churchill said about Poland's appetite of hyena in 1938. The European Commission does not know the history of Europe or is just lying.

It is delusional to suggest that the huge military presence camped on Ukraine's boarder will not invade

The Russian troops on the border are just to prevent the delusional Ukrainian neonazi regime from start of a major offensive against Donbass - in clear violation of the Minsk peace agreements designed to finish the war. The Ukrainian regime signed the agreements but is unwilling to implement. Now it massed more then a hundred of thousand of troops and hundreds of tanks and APCs on the border with Donbass.

Asakaze,

We can "what about", politically merry-go-round until hell freezes over.

What happens when the political musical chairs stop?

What will that mean your family?

And the millions that will ultimately perish?

Maybe that is a question you should direct to President Putin? Yes?

Some have and subsequently disappeared. So maybe not.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

How so?

A Russian/Putin invasion of Ukraine/Europe is a far greater threat to America/Europe than China invading Taiwan.

China isn't going to attack or invade any part of America.

Ok, if you think so, that’s exactly what China wants, good job. Lol

But your presidents/

Not even going to talk Trump, move on to the current President.

. But also sending too many advanced weapons to Ukraine could provocate Putin to invade.

Then that means and once again, this guy is not going to do anything. But yeah, don’t focus on the real threat that is China, focus on Russia. 2022 is around the corner and salvation is on its way. It’s going to be a spectacular year for conservatives.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Seems he is better at getting Ukrainian officials fired than he is at protecting Ukraine from aggression.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Maybe that is a question you should direct to President Putin? Yes?

Better ask the US administration, a world record holder when it comes to attacking other countries.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

how is China a greater threat to America than Russia?

If I even have to tell you that then I would say, where have you been these past 16 years??

The 2022 elections mean nothing for the situation in Europe. Zilch

Nope, not to the average person, but to the nation and our ally’s, it means a lot.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

China has always been the real and serious geopolitical adversary Biden needs to understand this and be more direct and verbally aggressive when he talks to his old friend. Russia overall was never as big threat the way the Democrats tried so hard to make them out to be and dropping that ball is going to to cost the US down the road.

Those means, he noted, include economic espionage, data hacking, intellectual property theft, bribery, blackmail and other coercive attempts “to sway our government’s policies, distort our country’s public discourse, and undermine confidence in our democratic processes and values.”

Just a small fraction and there’s more..

FBI Director Wray emphasized that these malign and pernicious actions are the work of the Chinese Communist Party:

https://editorials.voa.gov/a/china-poses-biggest-threat-to-u-s-national-security/5516031.html

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

so you are just unable to say

I just did and FBI director Wray said the same.

.

first you do not care about Europe or your Allie’s We have survived all of the American elections. Even the last president. What happens with your 2020 election means nothing to us and Biden will still be president.

Nice side-stepping, but that has nothing to do with China being the biggest and most dangerous geopolitical adversary.
