What's a tech billionaire doing peddling vaccines?

Shouldn't he be preaching about video games or something?

Bill Gates, bogeyman of virus conspiracy theorists

The Bill Gates foundation was kicked out of India for their irresponsible and lethal vaccine experiments with children. Thats not a conspiracy theory, that is a fact.

And should be remembered by other governments before the blindly support the Gates foundation.

-25 ( +6 / -31 )

@WillyB That simply isn't true. The Gates Foundation was not kicked out of India in 2017 when the Steemit article was published, and as of NOW the Gates Foundation continues to work in India.

The foundation is one of the largest private foundations, with offices all over the world. In India, the organization is primarily focused on the Uttar Pradesh and Bihar regions, where they are working to reduce poverty and improve access to health.

Oh boy here comes the Bill Gates apologist media. I actually had nothing against the guy until the media started pushing him down our throats every day as the only possible savior of mankind. That makes me suspicious, to say the least.

There seem to be a lot of articles about conspiracy theories at the moment. Wonder if it could be a concerted effort by some to stamp out any questioning of official narratives about who's responsible for this turmoil, where the virus comes from and whether the cure is worse than the disease by discrediting anyone who dares to publicly ask?

But that would make me a... hey!

wackjobs gonna wack...

What's a tech billionaire doing peddling vaccines?

whats a president whos invested in a Malaria drug openly states hes taking it to treat covid19

16 ( +18 / -2 )

Stick to what you know. As a billionaire I suggest he take better care of his skin. That photo looks pretty awful.

-22 ( +3 / -25 )

Oh boy here comes the Bill Gates apologist media.

yet still no hard evidence that give credit to these conspiracy theories, just like Obamagate Trump cant even state what crime was done. That's the thing with conspiracies, unless youve got eveidence thatll convince a judge or jury that a law has been broken then that is exactly what they stay, a conspircay

LOL.... been dipping into SNOPES, have we? You might want to be a little careful about that less-than-unbiased source.

In the event, yes, it seems it was not the Gates Foundation that carried out the non-consentual vaccine tests, but something called PATH. However, PATH is funded by the Gates Foundation. Did Snopes mention that?

-17 ( +3 / -20 )

The article itself screams "conspiracy theory" then goes on to list several things that are true that actually legitimately concern some people.

Also a WHO donor, huge Clinton Foundation donor, not a medical doctor.

Hes out for me from day one, I didnt even need any conspiracy theories.

-17 ( +3 / -20 )

@blacklabeemedia started pushing him down our throats every day as the only possible savior of mankind

Media-phobia is another disease afflicting the far right around the globe. Not surprising it's those with underlying conditions, e.g. being intellectually vulnerable, who it affects the most severely.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Bill Gates was unable to prevent viral infections of his own operating system and now he's the greatest proponents of vaccination. This is the same Bill Gates who is always talking about the need to reduce the world population. He funded the Wuhan Lab carrying out Corona virus research, from where many are saying the virus escaped. Also, his father was head of Planned Parenthood,...

False claims targeting billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates are gaining traction online...

How do they know they're false?

-19 ( +2 / -21 )

@willibThats not a conspiracy theory, that is a fact.

Fact? What sources have you used to make that statement. Breitbart? RT/Sputnik? infowars? Hannity? A link verifying that 'fact' would help.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

In the event, yes, it seems it was not the Gates Foundation that carried out the non-consentual vaccine tests

You said it was a fact, not a conspiracy theory. A simple Google proved that it is a fiction, and a conspiracy theory. In light of your clearly being very easily manipulated by fake news, are you considering re-evaluating your views, choices or sources of informahahaha sorry, I couldn't keep it up.

The article itself screams "conspiracy theory" then goes on to list several things that are true that actually legitimately concern some people.

"Other rumors claim that he is secretly a lizard, an old favorite among online trolls."

OK.

It’s not just hard to believe that people trying to “make sense” out of the current global crisis would choose to blame a man who’s actually trying to use his fortune to do some good in the world, it’s also hard to believe that they’re willing to put their conspiracy theories loud and proud right here where other people can read them.

Actually, it’s not hard to believe that at all. It’s depressingly easy.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

You might want to be a little careful about that less-than-unbiased source.

Thanks for the advice.

However, PATH is funded by the Gates Foundation. Did Snopes mention that?

If it's the same article I read, then yes.

How about the article below (from 2014)? Should I believe it or not?

https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/industry/healthcare/biotech/healthcare/controversial-vaccine-studies-why-is-bill-melinda-gates-foundation-under-fire-from-critics-in-india/articleshow/41280050.cms?from=mdr

Yes they always throw one or two things in there that are obviously insane or false. To try to make people believe all of it is insane or false because of one outlandish statement.

each statement has to be evaluated independently.

Because he obviously isnt a lizard doesnt mean every other statement is automatically false. I mean, this is an article whose obvious purpose it to debunk any criticisms of Gates, right? So of course thats their agenda to follow in their story.

"Other rumors claim that he is secretly a lizard, an old favorite among online trolls."

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

People say Gates is a lizard. He isnt.

People also say he is a top Clinton Foundation donor. so obviously this isnt true either, simply because he isnt a lizard.

Nope, logic doesnt work like that.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

Doctored photos and fabricated news articles crafted by conspiracy theorists -- shared thousands of times on social media platforms and messaging apps, in various languages -- have gone as far as accusing the Microsoft founder of creating the outbreak.

More of the disinformation campaign by Putin and his Internet Research Agency, aided and abetted by the far-right media hate and conspiracy machine in the US...

You know, the same ones that said COVID was nothing but the flu, hyroxichloroquine will save your life, and JFK Jr is alive and blogging on the Deep State...

And the Trump supporters fall for it all...just like they did in 2016...

Given that some of our friends on JT swallowed the Democrat nonsense about Russiagate suggests they're not as immune to conspiracy theories as they might think.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

So...a conspiracy theory is anything that challenges the government? Hmm...Can't trust government too much. Show us some corona virus proof. I hear a lot of talking and fear mongering but that's it.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Really depressing to read all these fake news and conspiracy theories in these uncertain. We are pointing fingers to blame someone and deflect attention from the REAL culprit - CHINA. Gates is a good man and through his philanthropy work he has saved thousands of lives in poor countries. This man can lead a satisfactory life and spend his wealth differently. How many billionaires are giving generously to charities around the world?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

It should be clear that there are many people who are suspicious of Bill Gates and his motives. many who dont support his financial dealings with the WHO and with the Clinton Foundation. Many who dont agree with his involvement in vaccines, contact tracing and tracking of citizens. Its not that hard to understand that someone would feel that way.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

yes, the term conspiracy theory is very selectively used by the media. Mostly these days as "we, the media wont be looking into this at all" blanket declaration that something said (only by conservatives) determined to be false, without investigation.

Things that in reality have yet to even have any investigative activity other than the media reading twitter or accepting the liberal person involved just saying "I didnt do that". Ok, nothing more to see here!

Given that some of our friends on JT swallowed the Democrat nonsense about Russiagate suggests they're not as immune to conspiracy theories as they might think.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

The far right (and some on the left) are getting increasingly disturbing. Excuse me for invoking Goodwin's Law, but much of what we see has parallels in history, particularly in the US. Pseudo-science being promoted by leaders, a leader encouraging the growth and activism of politically-inspired militias, and a government openly and brazenly spreading untruths to a support base who don't care about their veracity, but are keener on attacking opponents.

Gates is a guy who has given away billions to help the poorest and he gets attacked for it by those who prefer to believe in a false narrative, fed to them by forces who are not acting in their interests, bit using them for their own ends.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

How many billionaires are giving generously to charities around the world?

Well, I know one supposed billionaire who went the other way and pinched money from charities.

Mostly these days as "we, the media wont be looking into this at all" blanket declaration that something said (only by conservatives) determined to be false, without investigation.

Conspiracy nuts like to fall back on 'You can't prove it isn't true!', whilst expecting us to prove to them that it isn't true, and neglecting that the onus is on them to prove that their crackpottery is actually true.

I doubt it is for the mods to determine if either side of a conversation is a "lying" side and then censor them.

Absolutely, the moderation policy is very clear: lying is fine, revealing lies is not.

Something I'm sure you're grateful for.

The fact that so many anti-vaxxers are also flat-Earthers, and nearly all flat-Earthers are anti-vaxxers, leaves me having almost zero respect for anti-vaxxers and their beliefs.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Also, many things some would have called a "lie" at the time I said it turned out to be true later.

For example, I said Mike Flynn would be exonerated due to misconduct on the prosecution and FBI side. That was called a lie here and "conspiracy theory" by the media.

But now look where we are, it appears that was a truthful statement, not a lie or conspiracy theory after all.

I simply dont trust Bill Gates or his motives. Im entitled to that opinion.

-9 ( +4 / -13 )

garypen:

The fact that so many anti-vaxxers are also flat-Earthers, and nearly all flat-Earthers are anti-vaxxers,

Is that a fact, or your imagination? Do you have a reference for the claim?

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Is that a fact, or your imagination? Do you have a reference for the claim?

Now you're interested in facts? How cute.

Do liberals trust anyone who donated to the Trump campaign and now the reelection campaign? Is it illegal to do so? No its not. Is it wrong, or bad, or anything dishonest? No, not at all

But it gives you a different impression of people, right? despite anything else positive that person may have done.

Same thing for me and the Gates Foundation donating millions to the Clinton Foundation, when that was a pay to play type thing for a while. I just cant determine the intent behind those donations when he has his own perfectly good foundation that could do the same things.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

I wonder why people are against him, he's basically contributing money for human welfare without anything in return.

While some contributions have went into the wrong places it is hard to control organisations he don't actually own.

Just ask yourself this, do you check whether every service or product you spend money on is managed ethically and sustainably?

If no, then what right do you have to blame him.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

whats a president whos invested in a Malaria drug openly states hes taking it to treat covid19

Sigh... he's not invested in the drug, he's merely suggesting it to people as a low-cost treatment that, which taken with zinc has 91% effectiveness in more than 1,000 patients with zero side effects in in a study by French virologist Didier Raoult, and is available NOW, as opposed to a vaccine which may not be available until next year if ever.

in a study by French virologist Didier Raoult

A study that has not been peer-reviewed and has been widely criticized and even rejected by the vast majority of French doctors and the Science Council.

This article's point is very interesting.

If one recalls, 10 days or so after the outbreak eveb before the annuncement of a pandemic, Bill gates gave China $ 100 Million. Hopwever, he has not given a penny as far as we know to any other country to help with controlling or solving the virus pandemic. So it will be a n interesting argument.

Then again he is the major investor in many US vaccine research companies and is "pushing" and "promoting" no return to normalcy till an effective vaccine is found, tested and approved prior to and administered to ALL the people of the world. he is talking about hundreds of millions of vaccines over years.

He also indicated in his interviews that vaccines are normally effective for 3 months and are species specific, so one must be vaccinted at least once a year as with the flu. Then he indicated that new vaccines must be found if new variations of similar or different viruses do come.

He also indicated that ALL vaccines have side effects there if millions are given then hundreds of thousands may lose their lives because of the vaccines and may also affect their immune systems and with other physical side effects. (as with all medicines)

So if he is being targeted.. for some that may make sense.

As far as we know, only time... possibly generations later.. will tell the truth.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Sigh... he's not invested in the drug, he's merely suggesting it to people as a low-cost treatment

If hydroxychloroquine becomes an accepted treatment, several pharmaceutical companies stand to profit, including shareholders and senior executives with connections to the president. Mr. Trump himself has a small personal financial interest in Sanofi, the French drugmaker that makes Plaquenil, the brand-name version of hydroxychloroquine.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/06/us/politics/coronavirus-trump-malaria-drug.html

Is that true, or not?

Don´t confuse the echo chamber with facts. O*rangeman bad is so much simpler.

It would be an interesting argument...if it was true.

https://observer.com/2020/02/bill-melinda-gates-donate-100m-china-coronavirus-outbreak/

"Specifically, up to $20 million will be directed to organizations including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as health authorities in China and front-line responders; another $20 million will be used to support emergency operations in Africa and South Asia; and the rest, $60 million, will be allocated for the discovery and development of vaccines and long-term treatments and diagnostics for 2019-nCoV."

All the rest of your post if at best wild conjecture.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Sigh... he's not invested in the drug

He has links to Sanofi.

If this was any other PotUS, there would be intense scrutiny over his interests and promoting of the drug and rightly so.
